OVERVIEW:
Here is the second of three decklists used in the video. All of them were built with some very loose Gem/Crafting Point "restrictions" to fit with the theme we were going for, and this one is probably the most viable slot out of the three.
This deck aims to use the regular Normal Pendulum deck-type as a foundation to enable an Extra Deck toolbox of generic Fusion monsters, with a side of Synchros.
GAMEPLAY:
The gameplan here is pretty straightforward: You use the ease of searching that the Normal Monster support cards provide to stockpile a bunch of Scales and spam out vanilla bodies. Instead of just going for a Beatdown strategy from there however, here we’re aiming to Link/Synchro climb a bit in order to bring out some Fusions, and layer on Piercing the Darkness to turn them into decently formidable boss monsters, using a combination of Morganite and our once-per-turn Pendulum Summon to stack more things onto the board continuously until we can overwhelm the opponent with advantage.
The key cards here are:
-Piercing the Darkness, which is generally the main card that’s going to let your board actually stick.
-Verte Anaconda, which is the most consistent way of bringing out the Fusion monsters by way of climbing with Link Spider.
-HalloHallo and Symphonic Warrior Rockks, which act as a pretty good means of extension provided you have the right Scales available to bring out the necessary bodies.
-Morganite, which in this deck, can actually function as solid extension by way of its extra Normal Summon effect.
-There’s also Idaten the Combat Star and its associates, but they’re mostly there for show since Dragon Horn Hunter just happens to fulfill Idaten’s summoning requirements. Still cool and very in-theme cards though.
As usual, there isn’t one fully-linear combo route that you really go for, since you’re mostly living and dying by the starting hand with a deck like this. However there’s something close, and it needs access to: HalloHallo, a Level 4 vanilla, and 2 other Scales including a 2-Scale. It goes as follows:
-Get HalloHallo on the field, we’ll assume we Normal’d it for brevity’s sake.
-Link Hallo away for Link Spider, and use its effect to summon the Level 4 vanilla in your hand, using it to summon a second Spider.
-Use both Spiders for Verte Anaconda, then set both Scales and Pendulum Summon the Hallo and the Level 4 back from the ED.
-Synchro both of them for Rockks, using its effect to add back one of them from the ED.
From here, you basically have the most options available to you in terms of ED plays, by way of Verte:
-You can send Polymerization, using the newly-added monster in your hand to bring out Magnum the Reliever for some disruption and neat recovery with Poly/Fusion Recovery.
-You can send Pendulum Fusion, using both your scales to summon First of the Dragons to turtle up your board.
-You can send Greater Polymerization, using your whole board/hand to bring out Guardian Chimera for some removal and as a potential win-condition.
The rest of the ED are just some more tools to give the deck more to work with.
This deck is one we find to be a pretty cool concept, and is actually a pseudo-beta version of another deck we plan on making a video on in the future.
As with pretty much all our lists, you shouldn’t expect to find much success with this, but it’s an interesting idea that could maybe be expanded upon, and if not, can at least provide a good chuckle or two.
Thank you for watching!
