This deck is custom built to play against two other friends in their deck themes in very casual play. Each card is expalined below with its value.
Hero Monsters
Evil Hero Malicious Edge: Great card in first hand if you're going second and your opponent summoned a monster on their first turn and you have Prodigy in-hand. Can attack defense position monsters and inflict piercing damage (defense position monsters normally don't take damage but with piercing you inflict damage equal to attack minus defense to their lifepoints). At 2600 ATK this is one of the strong monsters in Edison. This is also your best target to summon your boss monster Evil Hero Dark Gaia. Recommended to run 2-3 copies.
Evil Hero Infernal Gainer: Not typically played in most Evil Hero decks. Is really only good if you have a boss monster on the field and want to finish the game with a second attack. This is also a decent target to summon Evil Hero Dark Gaia Recommend to run one copy or less.
Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy: Best aspect is you can special summon to the field if you have no monsters. This is a great turn 1 draw when you also have Malicious Edge in hand. Additionally if you tribute this monster for Malicious Edge then you can draw a card at the end of the turn which is more powerful than it sounds. Recommend to run at 2 copies.
Elemental Hero Stratos: A strong monster in this format, when summoned Stratos can add a 'Hero' monster. This is very versatile because you can select either Evil Heroes or Elemental Heroes. Your target will largely depend on what fusion cards you have in your hand, the fusion targets you have in your hand or graveyard. Stratos has a different effect if you don't want to add a monster, it can destroy face down spells and traps up to the number of hero monsters you have on the field. Spells and traps are very powerful in this format so this ability will often be used if you have a field of Hero monsters, especially good if you have a boss monster on the field and want to protect them. This card is limited to 1 copy so run 1.
Elemental Hero Ocean: You often won't use Elemental Hero Ocean's effect but if you do I would recommend ot target either Stratos in grave or Infernal Prodigy if you want to set up your Prodigy --> Malicious Edge plays. This card's best use is a water monster target to use as fusion material for Elemental Hero Absolution Zero. Recommend to run 1-2 copies depending on how many other water mosnters you plan to run.
Elemental Hero Prisma: This card has a lot of synergy with your Evil Hero monsters. When you summon this card you can reveal a fusion monster from your extra deck and then send one of the monsters listed to the graveyard. This synergizes really well which needs fusion materials in the graveyard in order to summon with Dark Calling or Miracle Fusion. Recommend to run at 2 copies.
Elemental Hero Neos Alias: This is one of the stronger 4 star monsters (don't need to tribute) with 1900 attack. Use this to run over weaker 4 star monsters or as a fusion target for Miracle Fusion.
Destiny Hero Malicious: This card is not one you want in your hand, its effect is very powerful in the graveyard though. When in grave, Destiny Hero Malicious can banish itself and special another Destiny Hero Malicious from deck to the field. This makes it a great target for synchro plays because it is a free monster on your field. All you need is a tuner to summon powerful synchro monsters. Recommend to run 2 copies (it is limited to 2 on the banlist).
Rock Monsters (I recommend to play 4 of the 6 below monsters in your deck at 1 copy)
Big Piece Golem - This rock monster has the strongest attack and is your primary target for your Dark Gaia fusions. If you get it early game without a dark calling you can use its ability to special summon a 2100 ATK which is stronger than most free summon cards in Edison. Recommend to run 1 copy.
Medium Piece Golem - This monster is optional to use. You can fusion summon Multiple Piece Golem with Big and Medium Golem and it is okay at 2600 ATK. This is also a decent target for Dark Gaia summons with 1600 ATK but there are more useful options. Recommend to not play in a 40 card deck.
Neo-Spacian Grand Mole - This monster has a valuable effect where if you battle an opponents monster you can return both cards to the hand at the start of the damage step. This is extremely valuable against strong monsters that are hard to summon like Fusion and Synchro monsters. This also acts as a decent target for Dark Gaia fusion summoning and is also a target for one of your hardest to summon monsters Elemental Hero Divine Neos. Recommend to run at 1 copy.
Gigantes - This card has a semi-difficult summoning condition where you have to banish a rock monster to summon it, but it has a very strong effect. When destroyed by battle it destroys all spells and traps on the field. Since spells and traps are so powerful this is a great way to remove those threats from your opponent, just make sure you don't have any spells/traps set if this has a threat of going off. This is another great target for Dark Gaia summons. Recommend to run this card or Koa'ki Meiru Guardian below.
Koa'ki Meiru Guardian - This rock monster also has a strong effect and sends itself to grave. You can summon this monster without tributes but unless you show a rock monster in your hand you have to send it to your GY. That isn't necessarily bad since Dark Calling fusion summons monsters from the hand or grave but it is best usually to keep monsters on the field while you can. This card's effect is very powerful in that it can negate a monster effect when activated and then destroy the card and that is extremely powerful in this format. A great target for Dark Gaia fusion summon as well. Consider running this card or Gigantes
Legendary Jiujitsu Master - This rock monster is great to have at any point in the duel. If you opponent attacks this card while it is in defense position you can return that card to the top of the deck, which is very powerful against hard to summon monsters like synchro and fusion monsters. So overall great for card removal if you have a pesky monster you're dealing with but they do have to attack for its effect to go off. It also stays on the field when its effect goes off which is valuable for synchro summons if you also have a tuner available. You can run this card at 1 copy or keep in your side deck if you find you need more card removal.
Morphing Jar #2 - This card synergizes really well with the Evil Heroes as well. You play this card face down so that when it is flipped (either by battle or in your next main phase after playing this card) its effect activates. When this card is flipped you discard all cards and then draw 5 cards. This is very powerful if you don't have many cards in your hand or if you need to get something from your hand to your graveyard OR if you just have a hand that doesn't really get you anywhere. This is also a target for Dark Gaia fusion summoning but not a primary one. Recommend to run 1 copy.
Fiend Monsters the below monsters are some of the strongest in Edison formats for their effects alone, but they also are strong attack targets for Gaia fusion summons. I recommend to run both in your deck.
Gorz the Emissary of Darkness - This monster activates from your hand any time you take damage (lifepoints are lowered) and special summons itself to the field but you must not control any monsters or spells/traps to activate its effect. If a monsters attacks you and reduces your battle damage you can also summon a token with attack and defense equal to the amount of damage you took. Or if you take damage from a card effect you can inflict damage to your opponent equal to the damage you took. At 2700 ATK this is one of the strongest monsters in Edison format and is summoned on your opponents turn. In addition to all of that, it is also an excellent target to fusion summon Dark Gaia because it has such a high attack stat. Recommend strongly to run 1 copy.
Caius the Shadow Monarch - This monsters has an effect where if you tribute a monster to summon it (such as Infernal Prodigy) then you can banish any card on the field. This is particularly powerful as banished cards are much more difficult to get back than cards in the graveyard. With the added effect that it inflicts 1000 lifepoints (LP) of damage ot your opponent if it resolves. This is also a great target for Dark Gaia fusion summoning because of its high ATK stat. Recommend to run at 1 or 2 copies. Probably one because you really need an Infernal Prodigy for this to synergize.
Water Monsters these monsters are primary targets for fusion summoning Elemental Hero Absolute Zero.
Snowman Eater - With high defense this card is tough for a lot of monsters to attack through and it also has the ability to destroy a card on the field. Both are valuable. Recommend to run at 1 or less, it isn't the most useful.
Deep Sea Diva- This is another one of the most powerful cards in Edison. This card is a tuner which means it is a subcategory of card that is necessary to synchro summon. This card's special effect is that it can summon another level 3 or lower Sea Serpent monster from the deck. The targets for this are usually another copy of Deep Sea Diva or the card below Spined Gillman. This makes synchro summoning level 4 or level 5 synchro monsters very easy and allows for a quick combo. Consider running this card at two copies or Plaguespreader Zombie at one.
Spined Gillman - This card is pretty much only used as a synchro target for Deep Sea Diva. But it can also be used as a target for Elemental Hero Absolute Zero summons as well. Its effect is pretty much useless in most scenarios because you're not running a fish/sea serpent deck. Recommend to play at 1 copy and only if you choose to play Deep Sea Diva.
Tuner Options
Deep Sea Diva - Gives easy access to a level 4 or level 5 synchro monster as needed with its special summoning effect. It can also allow you to synchro 'climb' if you have another monster on the field. You can summon Deep Sea Diva, special summon another Deep Sea Diva, synchro Deep Sea Diva with your other monster and then synchro summon again using the synchro monster and your other Deep Sea Diva. Play at 2 if you decide to go this route.
Plaguespreader Zombie - This card is a pain in the butt in this format. This card's effect is that if it is in the GY you can special summon it by placing one card from your hand to the top of the deck. That means you can get up to two synchro summons with this card if you are able to summon it with another monster on the field. Additionally if it is in the graveyard you can activate its effect at any time, so you can wait until you have a monster on the field that you need in order to make an even more powerful synchro summon (like once Malicious Edge is on the field). I would almost recommend going this route over Deep Sea Diva because of the flexibility. The downside is you can only play this card at one copy because it is limited.
Spell Cards Specific for this Deck
Emergency Call - This allows you to add an Elemental Hero from you deck to hand. Targets are pretty much exclusively Stratos or Prisma. Recommend to play at 1 copy.
Reinforcements of the Army - Add any level 4 or lower warrior monster from deck ot hand, essentially the same card as above in this deck. Can only play at 1 copy.
Dark Calling - This card is needed to fusion summon Dark Gaia and Malicious Fiend and is a critical part of your win condition. Remember you can only use fusion materials from your hand or graveyard, not your field and you have to banish them after this card resolves. I highly recommend to play at 3 copies because you want to be seeing this card a lot.
Miracle Fusion - Essentially the same card as above but you can only use materials from your field or graveyard to fusion summon. This card is really useful for summoning Elemental Hero Absolute Zero, one of your boss monsters. Recommend to play at 2 or 3.
Future Fusion - This card take a while but it really strong in this deck. For this card you activate it play your turn and then in your next turn you show a fusion monster and then send the materials needed to make the fusion monster from your deck to your graveyard. Play out the rest of your turn and then on your next turn you can summon the fusion monster you showed to the field. That monster is tied to this card though so if future fusion is destroyed the monster will be too. This is a lot of set up but this card serves multiple purposes in this deck. It allows you to send materials from your deck to your graveyard and a lot of monsters in this deck are most useful in the graveyard because of cards like dark calling and miracle fusion which fusion summon from the grave. Highly recommend to play at one copy. See the ideal combo below:
Play Future Fusion in your main phase 2, pass turn. Opponent's turn. In your next turn you show Elemental Hero Divine Neos and send Elemental Hero Neos Alias, Neo-spacian Mole, Elemental Hero Ocean, Destiny Hero Malicious, and Evil Hero Malicious Edge to the grave as material. Now after this is done you have a lot of flexibility. You can activate Destiny Hero Malicious's effect to banish itself and summon a Destiny Hero Malicious from deck to the field. You can Miracle Fusion an Elemental Hero Absolute Zero using Neos-Alias and Elemental Hero Ocean. And you can Dark Calling fusion summon Dark Gaia using Evil Hero Malicious Edge and Neo-spacian Mole as materials. Then you end your turn and go to your opponent's turn. On your next turn you can summon Elemental Hero Divine Neos to the field it is rather strong! You have other options than this if you get this card later in games and all the cards necessary aren't in your deck still. This can be used with Dark Gaia and Malicious Fiend as well.
Reasoning - This is a fun interactive card which allows you to mill cards into your graveyard and get a special summon as well in most cases. This works well if you have Dark Calling or Miracle Fusion in hand. Recommend to play one copy.
Foolish Bural - A strong card that allows you to put a specific card in your graveyard, again works well with Dark Calling and Miracle Fusion. Highly recommend to play one copy.
Gold Sarchophagus - This card allows you to pull a card from your deck and banish it. On the second turn after you activate this card you can add the card to your hand. This card is interesting, recommend to play at 1 even though it takes a while to resolve.
Gemini Spark - This card works exclusively with Elemental Hero Neos Alias since it is the only Gemini monster. It allows you to destroy an opponent's card and then draw one. It is pretty strong but not used often since you have minimal Gemini monsters. I don't recommend playing unlessy you plan to run two Neos Alias'.
Trap Cards Specific for this Deck
Return from the Different Dimension - This card is extremely powerful in this deck, especially mid to late game. It allows you to special summon all of your banished monsters and this deck when done well banishes a lot of monsters. This can really be a final nail in the coffin in a lot of games. Play at 1 copy.
Generic spells to consider (for card removal and card negation): Heavy storm, Mystical Space Typhoon, Book of Moon, Brain Control, Mind Control, Enemy Controller, Giant Trunade.
Generic trap cards to consider (for card removal and card negation: Raigeki Break, Call of the Haunted, Bottomless Traphole, Torrential Tribute, Mirror Force, Magic Cylinder, Dust Tornado, Dimensional Prison, Pulling the Rug.
Extra Deck These are your big bads, the boss monsters!
Malicious Fiend - At 3500 ATK this thing is a beast! It is a little difficult to summon as you don't have a ton of targets but it puts a lot of pressure on your opponent. It forces your opponent to switch all monsters to attack position during their battle phase and forces them to attack this card. Since few cards can beat this card outright it ensures the opponent has to play very conservatively and protects lower ATK monsters you have on the field.
Dark Gaia - This card has the potential to have insane ATK power depending on the combo used to summon this monster. It can have up to 4800 ATK points (which is insane!) when Gorz and Big Piece Golem are used to summon it. When this card attacks it can change all defense position monsters to attack position, so if you attack first with this card you can get in extra damage with other monsters. This pairs really well with Malicious Fiend if you can manage to get both on the field at the same time.
Elemental Hero Absolute Zero - At 2500 ATK this card is also stronger than most cards in Edison and is relatively easier to summon than the Evil Heroes. This card is very strong because if it leaves the field it destroys all monsters your opponent controls which can be devastating, so people will think twice before removing it. They'll need a back up plan.
Elemental Hero Divine Neos - As mentioned above this card can only really be summoned with Future Fusion. But if you can get it to the field you can banish a neos or Hero monster from your Graveyard, gain 500 ATK to reach 3000 ATK total and this card can get the effects of that monster too which can extend your plays.
Elemental Hero Gaia - You'll go into this fusion monster quite a bit less but it isn't necessary hard to summon. This card can end games with its effect which allows you to half one monsters attack on the field and this card gains the same amount of attack allowing for big damage.
Goyo Guardian - This is also one of the strongest cards in Edison. It is a synchro card that can be fairly easily made with either Deep Sea Diva and a level 4 hero monster or Plaguespreader zombie and a level 4 hero monster. At 2800 ATK this card is stupid strong and its effect is devastating. When this card battles a monster and defeats it, this card allows you to take that monster and set it to your side of the field in defense position. This gives you an extra body and you can use all of the stolen cards effects as well.
Ally of Justice Catastor - This card is nearly exclusively used to battle non-Dark monsters because it will destroy them upon attack. This is very useful because many strong Synchro monsters are non-Dark types. This can be made easily with Deepsea Diva and Spined Gillman (a one card combo with Deepsea Diva) or with Plaguespreader Zombie and Infernal Prodigy.
More to be added.
Targets for Stratos based on cards in hand:
Polymerization: Add Elemental Hero Ocean and fusion summon Elemental Hero Absolute Zero (homie is sick)
Dark Calling: Target Evil Hero Malicious Edge as this is this target is needed for both Malicious Fiend and Dark Gaia. You can then fusion summon one of those boss monsters (Malicous Fiend if you have another Malicious Edge, Gorz, or Caius in hand or in the graveyard (GY) and Dark Gaia if you have a rock monster in hand or in GY).
Miracle Fusion: No great targets with this in hand. But I would recommend adding Elemental Hero Prisma to set up plays with Miracle Fusion on your next turn.
Infernal Prodigy and Malicious Edge combo if you have no monsters, and your opponent does: Special summon Infernal Prodigy, use Malicious Edge's effect and tribute Infernal Prodigy for Malicious Edge. Activate Infernal Prodigy's effect to draw 1 card in the end phase.
Elemental Hero Prisma Combo if Dark Calling is in hand: Show fusion monster Malicious Fiend or Dark Gaia to opponent, if you have a rock monster in hand send Evil Hero Malicious Edge to grave, if you have a fiend monster in hand such as Caius, Gorz, or Evil Hero Malicious Edge send big piece golem to grave, if you have Evil Hero Malicious Edge in hand specifically then you can send either another Malicous Edge to grave to summon Malicious Fiend.
Elemental Hero Prisma Combo if Miracle Fusion is in hand: Show fusion monster Absolute Hero Absolute Zero, send Elemental Hero Ocean to grave.
