This pile of sushi isn't actually that bad as a deck albeit very bricky. It mainly focuses on making rank 4s to attack and OTK on your turn. It's extremely bad by itself so we play quite a few engines alongside it to make it somewhat playable like the adventure engine and on this case Small World. You do play some handtraps but I think that the deck works better if you use board breakers like kaijus and Kurikara Divincarnate. It makes sense that an OTK deck wants to go sencond, however this can make a decent endboard with about a negate a bounce(not quick effect) a battle phase permanent negate too wich is cool.
manditory 3 of cards you play:
- 3 Gunkan Suship Shari
- 3 Gunkan Suship Shari Red
These are the heart and soul of the deck if you don't play 3 the deck refuses to work just at all. Other suship cards we play are:
- 3 Gunkan Suship Uni
- 2 or 3 Gunkan Suship Ikura
- 3 or 1 Gunkan Suship Shirauo
- 1 Gunkan Sushipyard Seaside Supper Spot
- 1 Gunkan Suship Daily Special
Gunkan Suship Uni gets two monsters (itself and a shari) on the board then it modulates a level of a suship monster and searches a shari. Gunkan Suship Ikura is almost an extender sort of card, it special summons itself then you can excavate the top 3 cards, if you see a shari you can summon it or add it to your hand wich is pretty usefull. Finally Gunkan Suship Shirauo allows you to special summon it if you control a shari, you can special summon it then you can special summon a suship card ,other than a shirauo, from your hand and stack a suship deck ontop of the deck. That works really well when you special summon an Gunkan Suship Ikura then you can excavete the deck and boom two rank 4s on the field.
Extra Deck:
- 2 Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought
- 2 Gunkan Suship Ikura-class Dreadnought
- 1 or 2 Gunkan Suship Shirauo-class Carrier
All of these have great effects but you don't really need to resolve the Gunkan Suship Shirauo-class Carrier more than once per game. These cards gain effects based on the material attached to it on summon so you can't attach material from the GY to make these stronger. Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought can attack directly if you have a Gunkan Suship Uni attached to it, you draw 1 card if you have a Gunkan Suship Shari attached to it also during your main phase or your opponents battle phase you can permanently negate face up card(s) your opponent controls up to the number of suship xyz monsters you control. Gunkan Suship Ikura-class Dreadnought can attack twice if you have a Gunkan Suship Ikura, you can draw 1 card if you have a Gunkan Suship Shari attached to it also once per turn whenever a suship xyz monster deals battle damage you can target a card your poopnent controls; destroy it. Gunkan Suship Shirauo-class Carrier can search your deck for a "gunkan suship" spell/trap if this card has a Gunkan Suship Shirauo attached to it, you can draw 1 card if you have a Gunkan Suship Shari attached to it also all gunkan suship xyz monsters you control gain attack equal to their defense when there's a field spell on board (dosn't matter who controls it).
COMBO TIME:
- Gunkan Suship Shari(red) + Gunkan Suship Shari Red
Gunkan Suship Shari red show Gunkan Suship Shari; special summon a Gunkan Suship Uni from deck but it's effects are negated, overlay into a Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought > Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought effect draw 1.
that's it... not verry imperssive.
- Gunkan Suship Shari(red) + Gunkan Suship Uni + Gunkan Suship Shirauo
Gunkan Suship Uni show Gunkan Suship Shari(red); summon it and the revealed Gunkan Suship Shari(red) > Gunkan Suship Shirauo effect; summon itself > effect Gunkan Suship Uni; modulate the Gunkan Suship Shari(red) to a level 5, add a Gunkan Suship Shari from deck to hand > Gunkan Suship Shirauo effect, summon the Gunkan Suship Shari from your hand, place a Gunkan Suship Shari Red ontop of the deck > overlay the level 4s into a Gunkan Suship Shirauo-class Carrier, draw the stacked Gunkan Suship Shari Red, add the Gunkan Sushipyard Seaside Supper Spot > activate Gunkan Sushipyard Seaside Supper Spot > overlay the level 5s into a Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought > Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought and Gunkan Sushipyard Seaside Supper Spot will activate, chain like so:
Chain link 1 Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought
Chain link 2 Gunkan Sushipyard Seaside Supper Spot
By doing this you essentially stack the deck in you favor so you don't draw a card you don't need.
RESOLVE
Gunkan Sushipyard Seaside Supper Spot stack a Gunkan Suship Shari(red) ontop of the deck > Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought draw 1 card (the stacked Gunkan Suship Shari(red)) > Gunkan Suship Shari red show Gunkan Suship Shari; special summon a Gunkan Suship Ikura from deck negating it's effects > overlay into a Gunkan Suship Ikura-class Dreadnought > effect Gunkan Suship Ikura-class Dreadnought draw 1 card.
This combo is so much better than the last one it not only gets over 10,000 damage on board (10,650 to be spesific) it gets a triple negate Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought. You do need to do a spesific attack pattern to get as much damage as possible:
Attack directly with Gunkan Suship Uni-class Super-Dreadnought
Gunkan Suship Ikura-class Dreadnought triggers; destroy a monster on field
Attack with Gunkan Suship Ikura-class Dreadnought to any other monsters
Attack with Gunkan Suship Ikura-class Dreadnought
Attack with Gunkan Suship Shirauo-class Carrier for game!
Consistency Cards:
- 3 or 2 (if tight on space)Painful Decision
What this does it sends a Gunkan Suship Shari to the grave; add a Gunkan Suship Shari(red) to your hand. Its a basic generic searcher that works really well in this deck.
Engines You Can Play:
Personally I like to play the adventure engine, using the Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss line to help with link climbing (I'll talk about those shenanigens later), it's a relatively small engine that creats a very good end-board despite its size notable cards are
- 3 Speedroid Terrortop(thank god this card got unlimited)
- 1 Speedroid Taketomborg(sort of a brick)
- 1 Water Enchantress of the Temple
- 1 Wandering Gryphon Rider
- 0 or 1(depending on the space) Illegal Knight
- 1 Dracoback, the Rideable Dragon
- 1 Rite of Aramesir
- 1 Fateful Adventure
- 1 Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss
The alot of one of cards make it quite suseptible to card negation but with the help of two very certain pieces of cardboard(more on that in a bit) we can make this a quite reliable way to set up a board when going first, and of course it's a one card combo (plus a special summon either by suships or other means):
Speedroid Terrortop (+ a normal/special summon)
Turn 1 Speedroid Terrortop special summon itself (because you control no other monsters), search Speedroid Taketomborg > special summon Speedroid Taketomborg > link both level 3s into Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss > effect of Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss sending a copy of Water Enchantress of the Temple to the grave targeting itself; gain 1500 attack > effect of Water Enchantress of the Temple banishing itself; adding a copy of Rite of Aramesir > activate Rite of Aramesir special summoning an "adventure token" and activating from the deck a copy of Fateful Adventure > (*)normal/special summon a monster > triggering the effect of Fateful Adventure; adding a copy of Dracoback, the Rideable Dragon to your hand > effect 2nd of Fateful Adventure add Wandering Gryphon Rider to your hand and discard a copy of Dracoback, the Rideable Dragon > Dracoback, the Rideable Dragon will trigger in grave; attaching itself to an "adventure token" you control > Wandering Gryphon Rider can special summon itself.
It's quite alot but it sets up a decent board.Another thing I would like to talk about is Thunder Dragon Colossus is suprisungly playable in this deck all you need is Nemeses Corridor
* Nemeses Corridor effect in hand targeting the banished Water Enchantress of the Temple; return it to the deck and summon itself > ... Wandering Gryphon Rider can special summon itself > Tribute Nemeses Corridor, special summon Thunder Dragon Colossus.
It's just a better Droll & Lock Bird (wich you can play instead)
Small World Engine:
Small World is a really good card in suships because if you add a couple of cards evrything is searchable you need to play:
- 3 or 2 depending on space Small World
- 2 or 3 for more interuption Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
- 0 or 2 Nibiru, the Primal Being
- 2 Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju
- 1 Dogoran, the Mad Flame Kaiju
- 1 Kurikara Divincarnate
This engine just make the deck slightly more consistant and adds some board breakers wich are always nice.Honestly I could go through all the bridges but there's a link at the top of the deck where you can discover all of them.
Other Engines:
The Small World engine isnt the only one you can play, if you're focused on more of a rank 4 spam strategy you can play some others that allow level/eank 4s to easily materialize like:
The -Tama engine:
- 3 Sakitama
- 3 Aratama
- 0 or 3 Kagetokage
+ any good rank 4s like Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir and Time Thief Redoer
These cards just give you extenders and (kinda) free rank 4s however these don't work with the adventure engine as they use their effects on a normal summon.
Sakitama can normal summon itself for free if you reveal it.
Aratama searches a spirit monster on normal summon, that being Sakitama.
Kagetokage special summons itself when a level 4 is normal summoned.
They're okay at what they do. Other similar cards that have similar uses are:
Living Fossil: an equip spell that reborns a level 4, it looses 1000 attack and defense also its effects are negated, so it's okay at extending detatched matereial.
Monster Reborn evryone knows what this card does, it's an extender that's all.
Another engine is the utopia double OTK with a potental 4 material zeus:
- 1 Double or Nothing!
- 1 Number 39: Utopia Double
- 1 Number 39: Utopia
- 1 Number F0: Utopic Future
- 1 Number F0: Utopic Draco Future
- 1 Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder (you play this anyway)
All you need to do is get 2 level 4s on field, combo?
Gunkan Suship Shari + Gunkan Suship Uni
Gunkan Suship Uni show Gunkan Suship Shari; summon goth the Gunkan Suship Uni and the revealed Gunkan Suship Shari > Gunkan Suship Uni effect on field target itself making it a level 4 (add a Gunkan Suship Shari(red) if you want) > overlay both level 4s to make a Number 39: Utopia Double > Number 39: Utopia Double effect detatching 1 card; add Double or Nothing! to your hand, stacking ontop a Number 39: Utopia with 5000 attack > attack with Number 39: Utopia > effect Number 39: Utopia stop the attack > trigger Double or Nothing!, Number 39: Utopia doubles its attack to 10,000 > hopefully for game.
Rest Of The Extra Deck:
I've talked about:
- Suship extra deck
- adventure engine's Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss
- random rank 4s like Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir and Time Thief Redoer
- Number 39: Utopia (and that stuff)
However you can play a semi-ish link climbing stratagy that can potentially end on an Accesscode Talker linked using a link-4 card. You play:
- 1 Link Spider
- 1 Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze
- 1 Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames
- 1 Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale
- 1 Accesscode Talker
Link climb time!!!
Cherubini, Ebon Angel of the Burning Abyss or 2 suships with an fire in poopnent's GY
When you get either link-2 and another monster on field > link into Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames > Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames effect special back a FIRE from grave ( > link into a Link Spider if you special beck a Gunkan Suship Shari) > link both monsters into an Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale.
This makes your Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames live in your grave to:
Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames effect target Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale and a monster your opponent controls; destroy both, summon back Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames > Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale will summon back a link-3 (or lower) from your GY.
Just some very nice destruction and removal potentaly stopping some of your opponents effects.
If you're wandering how to get the massive accesscode:
your turn again Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames effect summon Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale > link it and Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames into an Accesscode Talker with 6300 attack.
y'know a slightly high attack stat.
