Just won with this deck. The consistency is WCS worthy. Dark Magic Attack is a backrows worst nightmare. Greatest deck created. This deck is OP. I didnt even use Links or the XyZs yet and the deck was ALREADY kicking ass. That’s how good this super consistent deck is. You get GREAT OPENING HANDS EVERY DUEL. How could you NOT LOSE? This deck better hit WCS this year. GO BUILD ONE!

    SIDE NOTES:
-If you look at every card clearly, you can see how well balanced the stategies are but still strong enough to outplay and outmatch your opponents in any match ups whether going first or second. Good opening hands.
-Joyous can replace Impermanence and Maxx C/Shared Ride can replace Soul Servant but I recommend not to change anything in this deck. Not any card in this deck or you will ruin the deck with any other changes made to this deck.
-Fusions slow this deck down and theyre not needed. Timaeus is weak and non searchable. So is Secrets and Magicalized Fusion. So don’t try it. The Dark Magicians are really horrible.
-Dark Magician Girl is not needed and she makes the deck slow/bad. Also Dark Burning Magic is useless and slow as well. Totally dumb effect to have anyways. Also Magicians Combination is dumb to have too.
-DO NOT ADD IN ANYMORE CARDS AND DO NOT TAKE OUT ANY CARDS FROM THIS DECK. If you want to change your Extra deck for better Extra deck monsters then you can.
-You can throw off Orcust, Thunder Dragons, Sky Strikers, Altergeist, DANGER!, SPYRAL, and several other top metagame decks in YGO duels. Deck is REGIONAL and CHAMPIONSHIP worthy. Facts

    EDIT:
-Joyous, Shared Ride, and Extravagance replacements made this deck a dream come true! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 All facts. Your opponents will surrender everytime. Been told this deck is pretty good by several top duelist. Shared Ride is underrated and really shines as much as Soul Servant does.
-You have Soul Servant at 3 & Illusion Magic at 2 and/or keep Soul Servant at 2 & Illusion Magic at 3. I say Servant at 3 & Illusion at 2 makes a great deck. That is all. Deck still super strong. Also you could replace Illusion with Shared Ride if you want to but if you do, keep it at 2 unless Servant is at 2, then make it 3.

Absolutely. Combos are broken if you noticed the cards in this deck. Played the meta and it holds up very good. Craziest part about this deck, I feel it’s overpowered because of the Extra deck support. For me to say that, this deck is awesome. A REAL DARK MAGICIAN DECK. Hadnt seen one in a long time in a regional or world wide tournaments but this? THIS IS A FAN FAVORITE.

Dark Magician going to win WCS 2020 this year. No doubt. Only way for Dragun Of Red Eyes to work in this deck is if Konami RE-ERRATAS Timaeus search effect. If that happens, DM has a 100% chance of a WCS win. This deck has 80% chance ranging on how you would strategize and/or what you do against your opponents.

I’ll hold you by your word. If they don’t win this year – you must vow to stop going on other people comments, and commenting rude stuff because they enjoy meta. Deal?

You can replace Popperup with Extravagance and/or Duality/whatever draw cards you like but they all got to be the same copies (3 of them). THIS DECK DEFINITELY CAN COMPETE. ALSO DONT PUT IN 3 ETERNAL SOULS BECAUSE IT CAN GET HIT. ONLY KEEP JUST 1 COPY. THANKS! ENJOY THIS DECK IN THE META!

MORE GREAT NEWS. THIS DECK IS OFFICIALLY TIER 0 AND I MADE OPPONENTS SURRENDER IN A ROW. DUELED NOTHING BUT META DECKS. SMFH. THIS IS A BREAKTHROUGH! ALSO, LOWKEY THIS DECK IS CURRENTLY UNDEFEATED AFTER OTHER DUELS JUST NOW. DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO GO INTO MY EXTRA DECK. THIS DECK ABOUT TO BE SERIOUS BUSINESS IN THE WCS THIS YEAR. #DM2020 #TIER0

A deck is only tier 0 if it makes up all of top cut – Dark Magician hasn’t been all of top 8 or 16 in a YCS. Orcust is also not meta anymore. Meta decks are decks like SPYRAL and Altergeist. Don’t claim things that aren’t true.

Popperup allows you to discard up to 3 cards and allows you to draw up to that many. Basically it’s another draw engine and its simple to use BUT IT’S REQUIREMENT IS PAYING A 1000 LP FOR EACH CARD IN YOUR HAND. So its better to use Extravagance if you hate paying LP/discarding. Extravangance is way better imho and get more plays using it.

Re-read all my replacement techs to make this deck way better, above in my earlier EDITED post.

EDIT: ALSO YOU DO NOT NEED PENDULUM MONSTERS FOR POPPERUP. POPPERUP SAYS “YOU CAN” SPECIAL SUMMON THE PENDULUM MONSTERS IF YOU WANT/OR HAVE THEM BUT YOU CAN STILL DRAW CARDS WITHOUT USING THEM. ONLY REQUIREMENT IS PAYING 1000 LPs FOR EACH CARD YOU HAVE IN YOUR HAND.

This is the actual deck I use. Perfection. Played this deck 20 more times and it’s as good as the last time. The replacement cards are in this one except for Shared Ride, because I kept in Soul Servant which makes a broken loop to pull out any DM card I want and/or need to get access on. Deck is kind of broken but we need a searchable Timaeus type card so we can have access to DMs fusions & Dragun Of RE. OH AND IM STILL UNDEFEATED. Lol

This deck going to the WCS or nah?

    Image

EDIT: You can put other cards in your own Extra deck and/or Side deck. Deck is strong enough so I dont care for my Extra deck monsters imho, just for backup and I felt like I didnt need any cards in my Side deck because any deck I’ve dueled had to surrender so I just said screw it. But enjoy!

REMINDER: DO NOT ADD DARK MAGICIAN GIRL OR TIMAEUS.

-TIMAEUS IS VERY SLOW AND NOT SEARCHABLE (that’s Konami’s fault for the errata until we get a new one hopefully with a different errata). TOTALLY RUINS THE DECK.
-DMG IS NOT GOOD, PERIOD. UNLESS YOU WANT TO PLAY FOR FUN, YOU CAN USE HER BUT REGIONAL/CHAMPIONSHIP WISE? NO SHE IS BAD, SLOW, POINTLESS, AND BURNING MAGIC DOES NOT HELP THE SITUATION EVEN WITH MAGICIAN SOULS. YOU’RE NOT GOING TO GET PASS A TOP TIER DECK IF SHE’S STILL IN YOUR DECK. EVEN AT 1, SHE IS NOT USEFUL. BURNING MAGIC IS GOOD FOR CLEARING A FIELD BUT ITS POINTLESS WHEN YOU NEED BOTH DMG AND DM. SO NO.
-THE DARK MAGICIANS, DARK MAGIC SECRETS, AND MAGICIANS COMBINATION? NO. TOTALLY POINTLESS. ITS REQUIREMENTS ANS B.S. EFFECTS. AND TOTALLY WEAK ONES AT THAT. SO NO.
-DM RITUAL MONSTERS AND DM FUSIONS? NO. RITUALS IS TOTALLY DUMB/POINTLESS. WASTE OF TIME AND WASTED CARDS. DM FUSIONS? AGAIN NO. UNTIL KONAMI DECIDES TO MAKE DARK MAGICIAN A LEGIT FUSION CARD THAT CAN LET YOU PULL OUT A FUSION CARD WITHOUT REQUIREMENTS SIMILAR TO TIMAEUS AND THAT CAN BE SEARCHED, THEN NO.

Tbh, I need someone to teach me how to use Link monsters. All I know you can summon them by using the arrows it points to. 😩😩😩

EDIT: How come Orcust couldnt? Or Altergeist? Even worse. This deck need a few more support cards and should be set to go for a REGIONAL win and/or CHAMPIONSHIP win. Or maybe both.

So suddenly different mechanics are good? Strange. Maybe you’ve finally learnt that they stream episodes of anime on youtube. Also dont base your entire knowledge of meta on people who duel online. Especially on Nexus – the worse version of duelingbook. Decks like Altergeist are good – its just people that use them on dueling sites are there to learn the deck – implying they dont know how to use it. Try to be more open minded to the fact if this deck was truly the best deck – It would’ve made into top cut of any tournament besides your locals. Show me a tournament like a YCS, WCQ, PPG, OTS, or even worlds in the last two years of this game were dark magician won and then I’ll believe that it is a decent deck.

This guy is 100% correct. DM loses to so many common cards these days, especially lightning storm. Since Kaijus and Evenly Matched are back in the meta game with D.D Crow being a staple in either the main or side deck, meta decks have such powerful ways to break your board. Maybe you can get a top at a regional with this and if you do, then kudos to you :) However I don’t see the power really there for it to top a YCS or any other high level event

Lightning Storm only works if you got no face up cards. Plus Storm is limited in the TCG. So it depends. Evenly Matched also depends if your opponent got more cards than you but this deck aint lose yet. Ima hop on YGOPro again and see what needs work.

Figured out the problem. Too many draw cards. Added in both Impermanence & Evenly Matched. Took out Joyous & 2 copies of draw cards. Other than that, tried it on Pro. Deck works like a pro. Its down to 40 cards again. 42 couldnt work because of the draw cards. Way too many.

So you’re playing a rogue dark magician deck with all the cards that are meta in it. Slightly odd that they should ban meta cards like ash blossom – but then you seem to play them.

I mean might as well play meta cards against meta decks since anything that beats meta becomes meta.

But I played against a very good SPYRAL yesterday on Pro and Dark Magician outplayed it. I built a newer DM deck and it works with Timaeus. The SPYRAL player had nothing to use since I banished everything and since Dragun couldnt be targeted, the SPYRAL player surrendered. Remind you, this SPYRAL playered used a top performed deck against me that was in a recent OCG tournament in China (think the metagame OCG decks) and still lost against the DM deck. I want to post the updated decklist but I like it so Im comtemplating if I should upload it. Going first or second, its really really good.

If DM goes first (with the newer deck I just built), Salamangreat & SPYRAL doesnt have a chance. I’ll reupload the actual deck some time later. I just beat Blackwings & Exodia Stall deck right now right after those. Salamangreat can still give DM problems and nearly beat it by a margin but timing is everything so its back and forth right now. Eye Of Timaeus is clutch and one of your best cards. Been testing it out, players been surrendering to DM on Pro & Nexus.

Testing on YGOpro and Nexus are literally the worst places to test a deck. Those sites are typically filled with people learning decks or low skill players. Try this deck in ranked on dueling book and see if you have the same results

My point exactly. To clarify: I am not bashing you or the deck you have decided to play. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and choices. However, disrespecting other players and their deck choices is not something tolerable – and I will stand up for it, but also try to show you how it is from another persons perspective. I’d advise not going around telling everyone stuff that you cannot statistically back or confirm – ‘Dark Magician will win worlds’, ‘Dark Magician is better than meta’, ‘Dark Magician is the best deck’, etc. I will be ending this conversation in regards to the warning as well as the possible outcome for everyone – But I’ve disproved your argument and have tried to reason with you to not be so harsh on and towards the meta and its player base as well as to stop false claims – but I shouldn’t continue this debate longer than it has dragged on. Farewell.

MPReviews. Im not saying you hating or nothing, I agree with what youre saying entirely but I feel like you’re overlooking Dark Magician because it hasnt been recognized as a tier/good deck. That’s why this brand new one I made yesterday, holds up. I was doubtful of Timaeus but it helps this deck out more than I thought it would. It guess you could say the brand new one I might post is meta/rogue? But it held its own against a lot of decks as I been testing it through and through. So, this deck is pretty amazing and has a consistent open hand, first or second. Been checking to see if anything wrong but so far no losses against the top tiers other than Salamangreat (which is debatable because its a great deck but DM had beaten it few times) and it made players surrender so this DM is really a gamble but its still worth the risk. Have a great day! Hope you end up playing it soon as well. I really recommend this.

So you said you wanted to learn how to link summon, here is a basic explanation: https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Link_Summon

Then there’s also co-linked monsters which are a bit more complex: https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Co-linked

Most link monster are pretty straight forward, some have extra requirements like take for example, Crystron Needlefiber (Link 2) which needs 1 tuner and 1 non-tuner to summon. Link Monsters may have other requirements like needing all the materials to have different names or be a particular attribute/type for example 2 Winged Beast/Dragons (Dragunity Romulus).

If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to ask and if you would like to learn any new deck to use you can ask, and I will make a post but I don’t post very often so I can’t guarantee that it’ll be a quick response.

Got a lot of duels in, this is a record of the DM deck:

    -Salamangreat: 2 Wins/2 Losses (Debatable)
-Thunder Dragons: 3 Wins (Beaten/or Surrender)
    -Altergeist: 4 Wins (Beaten)
    -DANGER!: 3 Wins (Beaten/or Surrender)
    -Trickstar: 3 Wins (Surrender)
    -SPYRALS: 3 Wins (Surrender)
    -Exodia Stall: 2 Wins (Surrender)
-Chain Burn Stall: 4 Wins (Surrender)
    -Darklords: 2 Wins (Surrender)
    -Blackwings: 3 Wins (Surrender)
    -Blue Eyes: 2 Wins (Beaten)
    -Orcust: 5 Wins (Beaten/or Surrender)
    -Red Eyes/Dragun: 4 Wins (Beaten/or Surrender)
    -Dinos: 2 Wins (Surrender)
-Cyber Dragons: 2 Wins (Beaten/or Surrender)
    -Zombie World: 3 Wins (Surrender)
    -Destiny/Elemental/Masked Heroes: 6 Wins (Surrender)
-Sky Strikers: N/A (Has Not Dueled Yet)
    -Other: 20 Wins (Beaten/or Surrender)

So in total, DMs record isn’t too bad imho. Pretty good in fact. Real threat is Salamngreats because that deck is pretty darn good to get around mostly but I had chances were I outplayed it luckily. Until then, I feel Salamangreats is really synergy in meta and super consistently good. Best DM match up I had fun dueling against. So thanks for viewing these guys!

As an experienced DM player and deck maker I’ll say this, the strategy is anything except op.
It dies so hard to an opponent who sets up a competent first turn board and dies if you opponent draws a twin twister. The deck also has no outs to a card like a simple borreload dragon due to Dm lacking attack power and ways to out a non target able monster.

Dm really only excels trying to be a ramp up deck that can hopefully draw a lot using souls, allure of darkness, spell book engine, and their new fusion while setting up traps to make the opponent play at your pass. Since this deck lacks the traps needed to slow down the opponent many could likely run the deck over. A singular judgement is too inconsistent to be a good out for the many threats to the deck and the once per turn disruption of circle isn’t enough to deal with meta staples or even many rogue options (this deck loses to Monarchs).

As well while Dm has always been a fan favorite fun deck and a favorite to casual players its prevalence in the meta game is very low with only two showings in tournaments, with only two showings at only the regional level in the past two years. Alejandro Palma using a windwitch Dm deck for top 32 in 2019 and Teamsamuraix1 only taking 35th place in 2020 using the new support with a focus on thee new fusion and traps.

I made a brand new deck. Lol I hadn’t posted it yet because Im still seeing what it can lose to and still learning if there’s any other techs to help it out and/or learn how to chain more correctly. The brand new deck got way more trap cards. The new one is by far the best out of these I posted on here. And I agree, DM wasnt that good of a deck back then. I heard Sam topped at a regional. I seen his decklists, he could’ve made it to a Top 5 at least if he didnt add in DMG. DMG is the problem with a DM deck. Also Sam wasnt doing enough with other cards that could bring out DM better or make him work around other cards with better cards. But Sams deck had the right cards, he just had the wrong amount of copies and/or not enough of the right cards. I’ll upload the decklist in a few. Im still learning how to use Impermanence, DM Circle confuses the hell out of me so Im still learning whats with what and how to time/pull combos a bit better.

EDIT: Windwitch is horrible. Why every duelist love adding in NON DARK Spellcaster support? Lol DM is better being pure DARKNESS. Windwitches effects are NOT good enough for me. I seen a DM/Witchwind decklist and I hated it. LOL DM is better off being pure, Pendulum Magicians, and/or better off with DARK Spellcaster support types (example: Black Fang Magician). Thanks for the feedback!

This the deck that basically had the record that I posted yesterday.

40 Card Decklist (Newer DM Deck):
    https://m.imgur.com/a/s7jOQK0

    3x Dark Magician
    2x Magician Of Dark Illusion
    1x Black Fang Magician
2x Ash Blossom & Joyous Springs
    3x Magician’s Rod
    3x Magicians’ Souls
    1x Eye Of Timaeus
    2x Dark Magic Attack
    2x Pot Of Extravagance
    3x Soul Servant
    3x Dark Magical Circle
    1x Magician Navigation
    2x Infinite Impermanence
    3x Evenly Matched
    2x Lost Wind
    3x Crackdown/Manhunt
    2x Eternal Soul
    2x Solemns Judgement

EDIT: And yes this is the deck that made players surrender. I keep building newer DM decks so this list might change again if I feel the need to. Imho so far this the best decklist for right now until I actually lose or see what else I need to add/or take out of the deck.

While you did comment on the source I gave and tried to debunk my claim by trying making it seem like the deck was just played wrong you did not comment on my other claims such as the many weaknesses the deck has. A single twin twister, dinowrestler pankratops, red reboot, or simply being forced to go second make the deck almost useless in actual play. As well anything over 3000 attack that’s untargetable can’t be dealt with by your deck except with BLS, a difficult card to summon as Dm lacks swarming ability. As well any counter flood gates really turn the deck off such as There can be only one or even a countering spellcaster deck with about 2 negates and secret village. Cards that prevent special summoning as well have no way to be removed as your only removal option is already set traps or summoning dm. Borreload Dragon, Chaos Max Dragon, Blackwing Full armor master, Vanity’s fiend, even Jowgen the spiritualist stop the deck.

I dueled all of those and still won. Im aware of Twin Twister, the reason why I have Evenly Matched, Impermanence, and also DM The Dragon Knight. Opponents used Twin Twister and still had a loss from me. I dont get your aim? I have faced a lot of spam decks, trust me, not one loss from any of those decks you mentioned and/or I have posted. SPYRALS spammed me a lot and still won. So why you say that like DM couldnt hold its own?

Im sure this deck has weaknesses but so far, I hadnt actually lost other than to Salamangreats TWICE, the reason why I said it was debatable. Main reason why Im even playing this deck because I want to see if its good or not/weaknesses, so far as I stated its pretty better than expected. If I start losing more duels with it, then Ima see what I need to change. Simple as that. Thanks for the feedback!

Evenly Matched and Imperm do not stop twin twister, dragon knight is not even in the deck list nor anyway to summon it, and a competent version of any deck should be able to out the spell and trap set up of the deck.

Obviously you didn’t read the decklist in the IMGUR. He’s in the decklist. Twin Twisters isnt a threat to this deck. Im not sure why you keep bringing it up. If it removes DM Circle or Eternal Soul, it wouldnt stop the deck from pulling off other combos.
