Zenet is one of the three newest engines coming in Glorious Victors in December. The deck relies on unrelated normal monsters to summon and buff their decks ritual monsters. While the deck has some interesting mechanics and some powerful cards such as their boss with 5000 atk which acts as a starter, extender, tower and interrupt, the common view on the deck is the need to run 2-3 non engine normal monsters only services to lower the decks consistency.
In the case of a single engine 40 card deck I would have to agree and even if you want to pair it with a second engine the normal monsters limited the space you have if trying to stay at 40 cards making it so you might have to give up space for hand traps.
However, I strongly believe people are sleeping on this decks strongest feature, as the decks ritual spell sends from deck to grave and the ritual monsters can summon nomrals from grave the deck can search and summon any normal monster in the game. This is very power for any deck that just needs a monster with generic typing on the field such as dark magician which just needs a level 6 or higher dark spell caster to summon magician of destruction which gives access to full dark magician line. Zenet can act as a one card starter for this by providing access to dark magician. An even better example of this is fiendsmith that just needs any light fiend monster to summon requiem which gives full fiendsmith line. Fiendsmith can then be used to access an insane amount of other engines. Want a fiend in the grave? fiendsmith can summon aeriel eater. Want a fiend in the hand? Send it to the grave with aerial eater then link up into protect code talker and firewall dragon to add the card back to hand. This can get you access to one card starts for decks like LADR or even RDA. There's also a tone of crazy powerful generic link monsters fiendsmith can easily summon to get you access to other starts. Want to go into misturgi? link into Cyberse contract which and grab Habakiri. Cyberse contract which can also be used to go from fiendsmith into Zenet. Thanks to the the light fiend normal monsters Zenet effectively becomes a one card starter for any engine you can get with fiendsmith which is a lot.
Zenets power to flow into other engines gives you the extra starters you need to maintain consistency with high card count decks which intern reduces the odds of drawing into your normal monsters improving the overall consistency of the deck.
In this deck Sphinx, A journey back to light, per ahk, nefertari, engraver and tract are all one card starters that can go into Zenet, LADR, fiendsmith and dark magician. on top of that black metal dragon is also a one card starter for all of the above and adds the extra end board piece of red eyes black full metal dragon (the i mainly added red eyes for fun).
The normal monsters in the deck are dark magician for magician of destruction, dipity for fiendsmith, any level 6 dark fiend needed for an extra matrial for aerial eater to summon itself from grave (I went for summon skull as its one of yugis cards) and any level 2 normal monster (it needs to be level two for level math when ritual summoning)
While LADR does not act as a starter for the full deck I still added two griffohs because the deck runs so many starters for different engines your likely to draw into more then one which will let you swtich to a different engine if one of your lines gets stopped although it will end up with weaker endboard. Because of this the deck is not unlike the controversy deck Haram being able to play around interupts by switching engines.
