Utopia Deck Post 6/5/2023 banlist

This variant of the utopia deck is the current iteration after the June 5th 2023 banlist. The deck lost 2 copies of circular and 1 copy of #89 mindhacker. Overall, these were moderate hits with the biggest hit being the loss of #89 which means the deck loses access to sniping out troublesome cards from the opponent’s extra deck.

I have updated the deck to be more inline with the current meta decks of the format mostly Kashtira, Branded, Labrynth, and the various Spright variants that players will mostly face at the top competitive level. The deck that I did not mention is dragon link, bystials are this decks biggest counter and Dragonlink is this deck’s most unfavorable match up.

For side decking

Side decking wise this deck remains most consistent when swapping out roughly 6 cards that being 2 copies of Zexal Construction, 3 copies of small world, and 1 copy of Pankrotops. The cards one will mostly side in will be 3 copies of triple tactics thrust, 1 copy of evenly match, 1 copy of raigeki, and 1 copy of feather duster. With this ratio including the pots of prosperity for consistency boost will mean that in a 6-card hand you will open 1 essential board breaker card 92% of the time.

Pot of prosperity

In this current build pot of prosperity is less punishing and can be used to look at the top 3 to get what you need roughly 77% of the time. Even post side and going second pot of prosperity for 3 generally will find what you need, hitting for 6 is too much of a gamble and sacrifices far too much follow up.

Combo lines and tips

all of these combo lines are still so use the link for refrence when learning combos and tricks. The only new addition to the combo is the Sakitama Aratama monsters. The main strength of the 2 new spirit monsters is that aratama is not a OPT searcher and is a 1 card r4nk that uses the normal summon. Aratama makes small world slightly better as it means small world goes from a -1 to a net 0 if choosing to search aratama. Though generally small world will still most often be used to search pieces to make kali yuga or mathmech cards to set up an early omni-negate. Aratama has the additonal bonus of being a Dark Fiend type monster which no other monster in this deck shares this stats making aratama an excellent small world bridge. Thus the spirit cards make the Deck slightly more normal summon reliant compared to past iterations but small world becomes a much more flexible card as a result.
