Since the current banlist took Gozen Match to one, I wanted to find a way to maintain the same level of field lock as before, yet not have to rely on drawing or losing my only copy of Gozen Match. This build has nearly gotten into Top 8 at regionals and YCS tournaments, and is still very underrated and unexpected to play against with the current meta.
This deck has primarily a three card combo lock consisting of Electric Jellyfish, either Ocean Dragon Lord - Kairyu-Shin or Fish Sonar, and Ties of the Brethren to lock your opponent into a single normal summoned monster as well as severely locking their special summoning. This combo also gives you a once-per-turn battle negate and monster destruction alongside the initial lock, allowing for easy damage for game.
You can also utilize the XYZ Armor engine to create large monsters and various interruptions for your opponent, the Bahamut/Toad combo for negates, and even the Stealth Kragen to help attribute lock your opponent as well. The addition of AA-Zeus and TY-PHON allow for some much needed extra firepower and defensive strategies.
Admittedly, I have tried to utilize Link Monsters such as Apollousa, I:P and S:P, Accescode, and others, but with the water attribute lock, it made things unnecessarily difficult to keep that same level of control. I would like to try to add additional negates/interruptions for your opponent's counters, so any constructive criticism/feedback is appreciated.
