First, addressing the 2 elephants in the room: 1) Yes, this deck gets owned by D.D. Crow and 2) There is a severe lack of non-engine for a go 2nd deck. Now, this more than likely be solved by removing Mind Shuffle, adding another copy of Light and Darkness Ritual, and supplementing the rest of the points into Mulcharmys/Nibirus/Better board breakers. However, Mind Shuffle is a pretty solid card and can be accessed turn 0 (if your opp doesnt pop it) through Griffoh. Is it worth it. Prob nah, but we play Diet TCG here.
Now, how does it work. The main objective is to send Skull Archfiend of Chaos to the GY. The deck is built to achieve this in a variety of ways, and play through interruptions. 1) Tour Guide From the Underworld, summon Fiendish Rhino Warrior, XYZ summon a RANK 3 (XYZ Armor line or Break Sword), mill Skull Archfiend (or Buio for Dusk Dark line). 2) Dark Magician Girl of Magician's Apprentice, send Skull Archfiend from hand, gain access to Shining Sarc/Gandora to clear board/bait interaction and make way for your rituals/Pumpking; also DM Girl is a LVL 6 which helps with RANK 6 plays. 3) Pumpking the King of Grave Ghosts, (recommend utilizing if another Pumpking card is in the GY) send Skull Archfiend from hand, Call of the Haunted the Pumpking target.
There is a recommended chain order of effects due to the restrictions this multiple archtype deck has. You will want to activate Ectoplasmic Fortification while you have 0 cards so always either activate that or Snake Hair to grab it, first (Note: Hold the Pumpking). Next, Shining Sarc engine is a board clear and will either free up the rest of your plays or bait a interractuion. Then, the Tour Guide and the RoLaD engine adds adittional fire power with multiple removal options and board presence. Finally, end with the Pumpking engine (Pumpking locks you into only special summoning Zombies from hand or GY) for even more board clearing and interactive board pressence for next turn if you cannot OTK.
This is more theory crafting and definitely can be better optomized for a more competitive version. This is just my take on it. It's fun. Nobody expects the go 2nd deck and the side board options for going first arent too bad aswell (take out the Shining Sarc engine). Thanks for reading and hopefully trying this deck. Hope you have fun!
