A while back, there was a Yu-Gi-Oh app called Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Generations. It had AI's that used the decks of all the famous Yu-Gi-Oh characters, all the way up to Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V. But not all characters had complete decks, like Tristan or Tea. So, what was their deck? It was usually based off one or two cards they played. Tea played Shining Friendship, so she had a Fairy type deck. Tristan played Cyber Commander so his deck focussed on swarming the field with level 2 normal monsters, and using them to Xyz Summon cards like Gachi Gachi Gantetsu and Number 96: Dark Mist. It wasn't all that good, but I loved the gimmick.
Which brings me to my attempt to recreate it in the modern day. While Number 96: Dark Mist may have been scary some ten years ago, nowadays its battle protection isn't worth squat. So, what's another good rank 2? In order to be even remotely viable, this rank 2 can't just be good, it has to be Toadally Awesome. (I'm not sorry) However, it was way too inconsistent. I needed a back-up plan. Hmm, what's a good engine I can use focussed on level 2 monsters? So, I added Spright. I looked up a Spright deck and copied the Spright parts.
Now, how do you play the deck? When going first, you can use cards like Enchanting Fitting Room and Tri-Wight to flood the field, and then make a bunch of toads. You also have your Spright cards to support this. The average end board is usually Spright Sprind plus a Toad, or just I:P Masquerena into S:P Little Knight, sometimes with EM:P Meowmine.
As a last resort if you end up losing, you have Dragon's Mirror to summon First of the Dragons. Then you just hope that they don't have an out for it.
Now what it you go second? If it's game 2 or 3 and you think your opponent will go first, side in Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Faustian Bargain, and Effect Veiler. Then, pray to your deity of choice --personally I find Tyche to work the best-- that your opponent bricks to high hell. This deck sucks at going second. Horrifically.
So that's about it. If you have any ideas to improve this, please leave a comment.
