The hand is mightier than the field.
In Domain Format, it's commonly believed that handtraps are rare due to the 60-card deckbuilding requirement. Today, we’re turning that idea on its head—with a deck where two-thirds of the cards are handtraps.
Deckmaster: Wish Dragon
Domain Restriction: LIGHT // EARTH // DRAGON

Domain Format General Rules:
- Singleton Format: Every card restricted to 1 copy per deck.
- 60-card Format: Each Main Deck must contain exactly 60 cards.
- 4-player Pods: Each player competes individually in an all-out battle against three opponents.
- Deckmaster Restrictions: Each player chooses a "Deckmaster" which dictates the allowed types and attributes for their deck.
- Deckmaster Contract: A Deckmaster can be summoned from a designated "Deckmaster Zone" using normal summoning rules. After switching zones, Deckmasters may return to the "Deckmaster Zone," where they start the game.

Broad Categories
This simple strategy has cards that fall into 2 broad categories:
- Handtrap Negates
- Hooligan Beatsticks
What do we want our Deckmaster to do? Wish Dragon
- Wide Domain
- Half of a Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres or Moon of the Closed Heaven
- Small Defensive Wall
Wish Dragon has the ability to tribute itself in order to summon 2 lv1 Dragon Tokens with no atk/def. This ability additionally locks us from summoning monsters from the extra deck, since we have no lv5 or higher Dragons in the Extra Deck. What this ability provides however, is a little defensive wall that our opponents will have to destroy before they can hurt our lifepoints.
Wish Dragon is not the best monster in the game, however it does have a perfect domain for this type of deck - wide enough to reach most handtraps while still being easily summonable. Being normal summonable, we can combine it with any other monster in order to summon our powerful link-2s.
Handtraps
- Negates
- Battle Faders
- Free Summons
Handtraps are the core of the deck, however due to reaching for quantity rather than quality, this deck suffers from many bad conditional and weak handtraps. Regardless however, a hand of 5 can expect to sample 3 handtraps from our pool, and with those 3 handtraps hopefully stop the most problematic combos.
The goal of this deck is to handtrap and beat them up, so to that point, the player must be aware of the opponent's choke points so that after the handtrap they can never perform the combo again. The power of handtraps is their life in the hand rather than the field, making your opponent's boardbreakers ineffective in preventing you from stopping their combos.
The Battle Faders of the deck help us stay alive - due to the nature of handtraps our field will be empty most times except for the 2 tokens that our deckmaster Wish Dragon provides.
Remember that a lot of handtraps are also conditional on an empty field.
PSY-Framegear monsters require a PSY-Frame Driver, but will banish the PSY-Frame Driver after use. To solve this problem, we play Primite Fusion and Branded Regained (with PSY-Framelord Lambda) to shuffle the PSY-Frame Driver back from banishment into deck.
Bystial monsters are extremely powerful, especially in conjuction with The Bystial Lubellion ability to search Branded Regained to complete a stream of constant resource generation.
Beatsticks
- Free Summon
- Clean up the board
Since our Deckmaster Wish Dragon does not provide much attack on their own, we resort to adding monsters in the Main Deck that can presssure our opponent's life points after we have caused them to fail their combos. This deck is rather low to the ground.
These Beatsticks summon themselves for free, and thus can also be used as half of a Moon of the Closed Heaven for Fiendsmith lines.
Fiendsmith is our most vaulable extra deck pieces due to thier recusrivibility. Fiendsmith's Rextremende is particularly high attack mosnter that can cause trouble for our opponents. Please note that Fiendsmith Engraver will not be able to discard itself from hand, due to the deck having no Fiendsmith spell/traps.
Other Considerations:
Handtraps: Supply Soldier of the Indestructible Insects , Conbirdable , Sauravis, the Ancient and Ascended , Mahaama the Fairy Dragon , Herald of Orange Light
Monsters: Chaos Dragon Levianeer , Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo , Hugin the Runick Wings , First of the Dragons , Regenesis Lord
Deckmasters: Koa'ki Meiru Beetle , Justice of Prophecy , Propa Gandake
The duels not over - it never began.
