Here are some staples and tech I find interesting for the September 2025 Genesys Format. These cards cost 0 points and can be used in almost any deck.

Edit: This decklist is preserved unedited as a historical archive. Check out my updated points list for September 2026 here:

Side Deck Tech

2-3 Rescue-ACE Impulse and 1 Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker form a hand trap draw engine. Once per turn, Impulse tributes itself from your hand or field to special summon Fire Attacker from your deck if your opponent activates a monster effect on the field. Fire Attacker, which's also a once per turn, then lets you draw 2 cards and discard 1 if your opponent adds a card to their hand, except by drawing.

Iron Thunder negates the activation of a spell, trap, or monster effect that activates on the field, then destroys it and every other card that's in the same column as that destroyed card. It's good for stopping board breakers that are hard to respond to like Forbidden Droplet, Ultimate Slayer, and Dark Ruler No More, and it can help break boards during grind matches. Be careful with Iron Thunder because it will destroy your own cards too!

Draco-Utopian Aura negates the activation your opponent's monster effect that activates on the field, then destroys it for free.

Warning Point serves a role similar to Floodgate Trap Hole in disrupting your opponent’s summons, but with some key differences. Warning Point lasts only for 1 turn, but it negates your opponent's monster(s) effects and prevents them from being used as fusion, synchro, or xyz material. Floodgate Trap Hole, on the other hand, flips your opponent's monster(s) face-down permanently.

Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Thunderbolt can special summon herself from your hand if a monster special summoned from the extra deck is on the field. If she's special summoned from the hand, then you can set a Dogmatika trap from your deck. That trap can be activated the same turn you used this effect if your opponent controls a fusion, synchro, or xyz monster with 2500 attack or more. Essentially, Fleurdelis can surprise your opponent with a Dogmatika Punishment on thier first turn. Also, her effects have no restrictions, so you can use her as extra deck material before you activate Dogmatika Punishment.
