Fishy Synchro
Deck Primer
First things first... Why is nobody using Super Ancient Deep Sea King in Ghoti? Paces can summon it easily and with a single discard you get the decks very own Junk Speeder. But it isn't a hard once per turn. Let that sink in. (pun intended)
And now for the elephant in the room... Icejade is an incredibly important engine in the deck and actually is the core itself. They add a much needed consistency boost to the deck while potentially negating all of your opponent's monster effects. Just get their field spell and Curse to stun their monsters during their turn. It is a one sided skill drain. But if you have Kosmo, then your opponent's monsters cannot use their effects during your turn. Use this to shut down entire boards with ease. This then makes your combos much harder to stop going second which is actually preferable here. One of the main reasons Icejade never saw much play is because they have stun effects but they wanted to go second to get their combos off. This clashes with the whole win condition. But if you look at the idea behind it, you can see that the effect lock can let you combo off more easily while removing the need to break boards. Typically I would run a bunch of board breakers in my side deck. But this deck doesn't need them. The Icejade engine is also able to special summon DSK easily just like Ghoti but it also gives the deck more combo lines. As you can probably tell from the extra deck, you can hand rip two cards from your opponent's hand easily while applying banishing removal in mass quantities. The Icejade Synchro also protects your board. The Icejade main deck monsters also add more interruptions and follow up making them quite powerful.
I haven't exactly mastered this deck completely. This deck has a ton of untapped potential which can be utilized in a myriad of different ways. I went for a more water focused route. Due to the downside of the Ice Barrier engine that can search out DSK locking you into water attributes for the rest of the turn. This is why the Crystron Tuner Synchro is in the deck. It allows you to bypass that restriction to synchro into one of your non Water boss monsters during your opponent's turn. Kirin and Omega are the main two to do this with. Use the synchro tuner and Tremora to summon Kirin. But you can also use multiple monsters to do the same thing. The Ghoti tuners can also let you quick synchro as well but only for Fish. Ghoti of the Deep Beyond is one of the decks main boss monsters. Use it for mass banish removal. Dimension Shifter was heavily considered for this deck due to the inherent synergy it has with the deck. I am very happy that this deck actually works and it is pretty consistent too. Even if you don't get DSK, the deck is still solid just not as flashy. I would recommend running Anti-Nibiru cards in the side deck as well as backrow removal. And with that I will take my leave. Thank you for your time.
