Welcome, Duelists!!
This deck is intended to function as a tutorial-deck for Yu-Gi-Oh Edison!
For the new players:
> Your gameplan is to send as many cards as you can from your Deck to your Graveyard <
> Once you have done this, activate your powerful Rekindling spell card to bring many of them back! <
> Then, use the power of Synchro Summoning to defeat your opponent! <
Good luck out there!! :D :D
For the advanced players
With you as a guide, this deck aims to help teach your friends the basics of the game in a way which should help prepare them to eventually jump into modern. It will take a while, obviously, but I believe this is a good start if they genuinely know nothing yet.
The gameplan should be easy enough for them to understand, as long as you taught them how to Synchro summon beforehand. It was chosen to get them into the habit of summoning from the extra deck without random fusion spells and the like ("we have link summoning at home").
Many of the cards in the deck searches the deck for other cards (Firedog, Spy, Hamster, Charge) and either add them to the hand or special summons them to the field. While this is obviously nothing new to you, your friend still needs to build up the habit of looking for the correct search-targets in their deck. Baby steps, everyone. We'll get there in the end.
The interaction // removal lineup in this deck is not exactly ideal for Edison-format specifically, but I'd argue that learning to use Book of Moon and Compulse effectively is worth far more to a new player than learning the fact that Dimensional Prison is useful in Edison. Keep in mind, this list is for helping your friends learn the basics in order to be able to try modern without feeling too overwhelmed. Chainable interaction is king.
Also, yes, Magic Cyllinder is in here specifically to troll you and let them have a bit of a laugh.
When it comes to the extra deck, I sprinkled in a few low-level synchros just in case. Feel free to take out Armory Arm as it can't really be made in this list. Important: Please do not add more copies of Thought Ruler Archfiend, Colossus Fighter, or Red Dragon Archfiend if you can avoid it. The idea is that they will see that there are far more Stardust Dragons than anything else in the extra deck, and that they will think "Huh, that's odd. Why are there so many of this one?" (The monster which negates removal and protects them) before they pick whatever they end up picking.
With all that said, this is just one way of making a tutorial deck. There are countless ways to do this, and I really encourage you all to make your own for the formats you love! :D
