Conflict Control (November 2020)

As with any control deck, this one aims to exhaust the resources of the opponent, before going for game. Wall of Illusion provides a powerful defense while returning opponent's monsters to the hand. A follow-up play of summoning Don Zaloog can then rip those monsters out of the hand. Night Assailant can be used to destroy opponent's monsters while the staple Breaker the Magical Warrior destroys spell/traps. Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer stops your opponent from banishing cards, while also being able to banish monsters from their GY to stop graveyard recursion strategies. As the deck comprises of exclusively dark monsters, Allure of Darkness is used to maintain consistency. Powerful spell/traps such as Offerings to the Doomed, Book of Moon, Floodgate Trap Hole and Widespread Ruin are also used to control the flow of the game. The pre-errata version of Inner Conflict then allows you to take control over an opponent's monster while your other monsters get in for game. Of special note in the side-deck is Creature Swap who can be used in tandem with Inner Conflict to steal two pieces of XYZ-Dragon Cannon from your opponent and fuse them yourself. This results in a smaller, but still useful, extra deck package for Waking the Dragon.
