Ashened Pile

Since I do not own a full package of Centur-Ion and Horus, I decided to play a Snake-Eye Yubel Ashened pile and it does work well. Is it on par with Snake-Eye Fire King or full fletched Yubel decks.. No. But is it more fun.. Yes (in my opinion).

In the decklist provided we run 13 one (occassionally +0.5)-card starters that put up at least 1 or more interruptions, landing us on almost 80% of opening one.

We run 10 handtraps (69% chance getting 1, 25% chance of getting 2) and 2 Super Poly's, 1 Thrust and 1 Talents as 14 non-engine (~82% of opening one).

Ashened is not a 1 card starter deck (except for Awakening but that has a nasty lock), and in combination with the one-card starters, the chances on opening starters is decent. It is even better if you'd open more than 1 engine as you can survive hand traps and still put up a board (whilst likely also having hand traps yourself). 

Mathematically rations are quite ok, I maybe want to make some changes down the line but it is a decent start of the MD season.

Other options to consider, I originally anticipated going for a Centur-Ion (has Pyro monsters too - will be even better when new support comes) and Horus (better than Yubel I think) pile, but this worked perfectly fine too.

Lastly, I firmly believe that running an Ashened pile is the best way to play this deck. Not 100% if this combination is the best pile yet.
