As much as I would like to put the new Armored Xyz cards into a Deck that isn't Sharks, they were pratically designed to go with Sharks so well that no other Deck can make full use of them as much as Sharks do. Sure, any Deck that spits out a Rank 4 can easily overlay into Xyz Armor Fortress to get your Armored Xyz plays going, but there are a couple of other things the Deck needs to do. 1) You need to be able to do more than just your Armored Xyz plays. You need other monsters going first in order to facilitate sufficient interaction on your opponent's turn outside of Full Armor Xyz using Xyz Armor Fortress to go into Full Armored DARK Lancer, equipping an Xyz from GY and attaching a monster your opponent controls to DARK Lancer. 2) You need a Rank 3 or 4 Xyz Monster that can detach at least 1 Xyz Material before going into Armor Fortress. Armor Fortress cannot be used as Xyz Material while it has Material, and it can only detach up to 2 materials to search 2 Armored Xyz cards. So, if you overlay into it with a Rank 3 or 4 that has 2 materials still attached, you just locked yourself out of making DARK Lancer or anything else for the rest of your combo. 3) Finally, you need a Deck that can actually play the main deck Armored Xyz cards without them taking up space or preventing you from drawing necessary starters and bricking as a result. Sharks accomplish each of these extremely well. They can easily set up multiple Xyz Monsters turn 1, they can easily make Rank 3 and 4 Xyz Monsters who can detach Xyz Materials and/or with none at all via Bahamut Shark, and they have a lot of starters and extenders to play and choose from with enough space for both Armored Xyz stuff and non-engine cards.
For handtraps, we are playing 3 Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and 2 Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. Ash is universal, but Ghost Ogre, Veiler, or even Nibiru is valid as we are playing Crossout and those can mess up your plays when timed correctly. For the other monsters: 3 Abyss Shark which is a free Summon if you have only WATERs and can search an extender or follow-up 3, 4, or 5 Fish from Deck if you do so. Also, it doubles the first piece of battle damage your opponent takes the turn its summoned via its effect which helps with OTKs via the Armored Xyz cards. 3 Lantern Shark. This card can summon a 3, 4, or 5 WATER from hand when its Summoned and can be treated as a 3, 4, or 5 for an Xyz Summon. We are playing 3 of this over Lifeless Leaffish and Crystal Shark as we aren't strictly going into as many Number monsters as we would with boneless Sharks. Crystal Shark is only treated as a 3 or 4 for the Xyz Summon of Number Monsters which is why we aren't playing it. 3 Buzzsaw Shark which has the same Xyz stipulation as Lantern Shark and can Summon a Fish with the same Level as a WATER you control from Deck. 1 Right-Hand Shark which gives an Xyz Monster battle immunity which helps for things like Kragen, but it can also Summon itself from GY if you control no monsters which is nice for a comeback. 3 Silent Angler as a free Summon from hand. 3 Silent Sea Nettle as another free Summon from hand. 3 Beautunaful Princess as an E-Tele of a 4 or lower Fish from Deck.
For Spell/Traps: 1 One for One. 3 Xyz Entrust which adds an Armored Xyz card from Deck or GY to hand and can modulate up to 2 monsters' Levels to 3 or 5. Also, you can banish it from GY to special an Xyz Monster that is currently an Equip Card. This is a nice card as it can get you something like Armored Xyz from Deck or GY as it is not once per turn or even Full Armored Xyz, but it would be better to keep that in GY for interruption with DARK Lancer on your opponent's turn. 1 Armored Xyz. It just equips a monster with an Xyz from GY, making the equipped monster's ATK become equal to the ATK of the equipped card, making it the same Attribute, and you can send it to GY to allow the monster to make a second attack. I think 1 is fine as it is recyclable off of Xyz Entrust and isn't OPT anyways. 1 Instant Fusion for Rare Fish for a 4. 2 Pot of Desires. 2 Crossout Designator. 1 Called by the Grave. 1 Xyz Import which can attach a monster your opponent controls with ATK less than or equal to an Xyz you control. Also, it is recyclable off of DARK Lancer which is really funny. 3 Infinite Impermanence. 1 Full Armored Xyz which is a Quick Xyz and it can banish itself from GY to attach an Xyz from field or GY to another Xyz you control, making it gain the ATK of the equipped monster and allowing you to destroy the equipped monster instead if it would be destroyed by battle or card effect. The equip will trigger your DARK Lancer which can be used as interruption on your opponent's turn.
Extra Deck: 1 Rare Fish. 1 Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder. 1 Full Armored DARK Lancer. This can also be made using a Rank 5 or 6 and it gains 300 ATK for each material and equip card it has. Once per turn, it can add back an Xyz card in GY which can be something like Xyz Import, Armored Xyz, Xyz Armor Fortress, or Xyz Armor Torpedo. Also OPT, it can attach a monster your opponent controls to itself when a card is equipped to a monster you control. 1 Full Armored Crystalzero Lancer which can be made with a Rank 5 so you can overlay it over an Xyz Armor Fortress to give DARK Lancer more material and you can detach 1 to negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent controls until the End Phase. 2 Valiant Shark Lancer which is Drident if you control another WATER Xyz and it can stack a Spell if another WATER Xyz is destroyed by battle or card effect. 2 Xyz Armor Fortress which can be made with a Rank 3 or 4 and it can detach up to 2 materials to add the same number of Armored Xyz cards from your Deck to your hand. If its equipped to a monster, it doubles battle damage when the equipped monster attacks a monster. 1 Bahamut Shark which can get either Toad or Xyz Armor Torpedo to get it into rotation. 1 Abyss Dweller both because it stops grave effects and since it buffs WATER monsters by 500 ATK. 1 Number 4: Stealth Kragen and 1 Stealth Kragen Spawn for quick effect pops and Kragen can float into Spawn and Spawn can float into Kragen. 1 Number 47: Nightmare Shark. You need a Rank 3 WATER Number Xyz Monster in certain situations where you have something like only an Abyss Shark and Buzzsaw or Lantern, so you can't make anything except a Rank 5 or a Rank 3 or 4 Number Xyz. Your options are Nightmare Shark, Acid Golem, Leviathan Dragon, and Rebarian Shark. Acid Golem cannot immediately detach an Xyz Material, Rebarian Shark has 0 ATK which makes it terrible as an equip and it also cannot immediately detach an Xyz Material, and Leviathan Dragon, while it can immediately detach a material, its effect isn't as good as Nightmare Shark's. Nightmare Shark can detach 1 to allow another WATER monster to attack directly and Armored Xyz allows you to send the equipped Xyz to let your monster attack again, functionally OTKing your opponent easily. 1 Xyz Armor Torpedo which can detach 2 to draw a card which also is perfect for overlaying into Fortress, but you can also make it with Bahamut Shark to get it out an into rotation also. If its equipped to a monster, your opponent can't activate cards or effects when it battles and it negates all face-up monsters your opponent controls until the end of the damage step and it prevents targeting if the equipped monster is an Xyz. Finally, 1 Toadally Awesome.
