Deck from 7/30 Locals
2-1
Win against White Forest Runick and Blackwings, both games were 2-0. I missed leathal in the second game against Blackwings, but the deck can OTK easily.
Loss against White Forest pure. I went 1-2 in this match. Game one I won, game two I lost. Game 3 I managed to open Terrortop, Terrortop, Taketomborg, Ghost Ogre, and like Imperm or something.
Some thoughts on this deck:
1) It can be fragile. All of the Goblin monsters are extenders that require some XYZ monster already established on the field. None of them require a normal summon to function, but all of them require something else. As such, the deck needs starters and additional extenders. Things like Terrortop can't function as a one-card starter as it dies to a single hand-trap. I like to solve this with the Adventure engine. It provides resilience and a potential extender in the form of Water Enchantress. The Adventure engine comes with the downside of preventing you from playing Tourguide. Losing out on the starter can hurt the deck. I think the trade off of an omni-negate is worth the loss as it is better than anything two extra level three monsters can provide.
2) There are so many extenders in the deck that you don't need hard starters. Often, hands can hold enough extenders and non-engine to build a board without a traditional starter. You will be hard pressed to find a hand that doesn't come with one normal and special summon at the very least. Hands that don't will have four non-engine to compensate.
3) Playing a rank three deck with winds gives you access to some of the only spell-trap negation in the game. Totem bird is an option to help prevent getting run over by a single, lucky board-breaker like a Lightning Storm or Evenly Matched. Alongside the omni-negate from the Adventure engine, any other disruptions you put up will be much more impactful.
4) The deck isn't linear. Depending on the combo pieces you open, you have different lines available that CAN play off each other, but don't need to. If you open Terrortop and Dougg Charger, you can use Terrortop to go through the Ghostrick lines to insulate yourself from Nibiru. But say your first Angel of Mischief search gets Impermed, then you can use Dougg Charger's extension effect to go into your Goblin Biker lines which will give you access to an extra monster to link the Angel of Mischief with into a Silhouhatte Rabbit giving you a pop and an summon negate.
