The deck is designed as a casual deck to explore the Ursartic's gimmick - the 'Negative Synchro' Summon. Mostly a jumping off point for more testing and tweaking.

I don’t understand the use of Halq here but I’m quite excited to give this a try when any emulator actually codes these cards in!

Halq is there basically as a back-up strategy for now/as a place holder whilst people experiment with fun and/or useful cards for the deck. Banish Halq to Summon Coral Dragon.
Coral Dragon with Polari can then become the Level 7 Synchros – both of which were picked mostly to play with the “cold” theme of Space/Ursarctic (and because I really like Narwhal)

I think you may be misunderstanding how the archetype works. It’s not the monsters in the main deck that provide the ability to summon level 7s, if the monsters that you’re summoning that have that clause. Because of this, there is no way to summon the other level 7s you have added here, as they lack the same type of clause. What should be added instead are some level 9 Synchros, since 8+1=9, stuff like Crocodragon (not a very effective monster, but it’s still an option), Vermillion Dragon Mech, Virtual World Kyuubi for the banishing effect, stuff like that

I fear I may not have explained myself very well
The Halq and the non-Ursarctic Synchro monsters were there very much as a secondary strategy, mostly there because I was spitballing ideas with some people and struggling to think through uses for such high level Tuners – it has been a long time since I used a Synchro deck.
The idea was that, as a back-up strategy (though in truth I am not hugely sure when I would use it) Tuner & Non-Tuner can be used to make Halq, and then Halq can be used to Summon Coral Dragon. Coral Dragon can be tuned with Polaris to make Iceberg Narwhal or Gungnir; I am aware that the Ursartic monsters cannot be Synchro Summoned.
They are there mainly because I wasn’t hugely sure how to fill the Extra Deck and like Iceberg Narwhal, but you are right that they don’t gel hugely with the deck.
CDGames – you know, somehow the idea of going into Level 9s completely left my head, despite having recently spent a lot of time playing around with Virtual World! Thank you – that is a much better idea that will integrate much more neatly into the deck!

Apologies for any confusion and thanks folks for throwing some Ursartic ideas out

that would require coral dragon or halq to survive your opps turn, even then that’s not a good idea so you’re better off doing tzolkin plays

Yeah, it probably is a lot slower than I want it to be – even in my local environment (far fewer hand traps – much more casual than most, it seems)
Always quite liked Tzolkin – how do you envision it working in this deck?

Thank you for all the feedback so far guys – have changed up the Extra Deck and Side Deck

Still not hugely happy with a lot of the cards in the Side Deck but until I get a chance to test on sims/IRL with my local crowd they aren’t the worst placeholders in the world

I assume you are having different issues with the deck than I am – as a Fun/Casual way to play around with a unique gimmick and a way to justify bear gundams, its thus far looking pretty good for me. Having a secondary play like Tzolkin is helping with some of the dead hands, and Diva might be a fun choice, particularly later in longer games when there’s some Ursarctic already in the grave. They’re a little slow, but with mates I’ve played slower without major issue – I don’t intend to take them to a tournament or event so.
Perhaps if you are worried Diva isn’t fixing the issue you could suggest some fixes or go into more detail about what the issues you are facing are?
They are a resource intensive deck and even cute little moves like Diva into Polari is appreciated in being able to eke out a little more play, in my humble opinion.

i’m not saying diva is bad, it just doesn’t sort out ursa’s problem of lacking the resources for tribute and going into chariot and seption, even with my experimentation i struggled to get seption on a consistent basis by using gamaciel and some merlantean stuff

That’s fair enough – I am lucky enough that my usual scene is slow enough that taking a turn or two to recoup resources/having to use Cosmic Cyclone or my Traps to hold off my opponent’s combos is generally enough to keep the deck “fun” and able to keep pace with other casual decks (Rose Dragon and D/D and the like – Fluffals and Myutants need me to play something else) provided I established a decent starting field.

Are there any Token or Trap Monster cards that might be able to help keep up the high Level tribute fodder? Not sure even if they are they will be a competitive option but it might be something to look into if people are trying to play around with Ursarctic

Having played around a little bit with Diva – it is good but I am struggling somewhat getting the ratios right without the deck turning into Mermail/Atlantean with Ursarctic sprinkles. I’m going to keep messing around with them, but at present I am enjoying playing “pure” Space Bears
