We are back with part two of the Unlinkable monsters! Let's dive into the VRAINS and find out if this restriction is worth it.
Check out part one of this article here!

Massive Mechanized Madness

A good majority of the unlinkable monsters are Machine-type, so let us proceed and observe some of them in better detail.

Equip Madness

Off the bat, Union Carrier makes up for its downsides with its effect being technically unlinkable the turn it's summoned on an easy-to-make Link-2. The ability to equip monsters from your Deck is not something that's unheard of, but not to this extent.
Carrier enables a ton of wild plays when paired up with other cards. Its biggest claim to fame was with Dragon Buster Destruction Sword.
With the small fluffy dragon in your Main Deck, any Dark or Dragon monster that you're able to bring out was able to wield that card's power and lock the opponent out of the Extra Deck. The 1000 ATK boost made it a bit harder to deal with regular monsters too.
The banning of DBDS is a testament to this card's effectiveness. In recent times, Drytron strategies are able to make use of Carrier for its ability to equip Dawn Knight to itself. Not only does this make it a 2000 ATK monster for Meteonis Drytron, but you're also able to get it off the field to free the clogged zone and get a free mill of Dawn, bypassing the unlinkable status.
Here are a few other uses of this amazing Link monster:
Thunderbird combos well with Apex Avian for infinite negation. Artifact Lancea, bounced by Heavenly Spheres effectively searching it. Asclla piscu works as the star of an FTK, equipped via Carrier once then by Exa-Beetle on the second run, burning the opponent for 8000 damage total. This is because you're popping Rose Tokens made by Black Garden.
Photon Orbital allows ABC to make boards just opening Union Hangar, which is a nice touch. ABC-Dragon Buster and Cyber Dragon Infinity are quite the duo!
Special mention goes to IP Masquerena which gets rid of the small flaw of UC.

The Raging Fist

Double Headed Anger Knuckle is one heck of a card for Train decks everywhere, especially thanks to its materials. You are able to use the likes of Urgent Schedule to summon it too!

Knuckle is great thanks to its ability to make use of the deck's Field Spell, Revolving Switchyard. This gives you a lot of resources and a way to ensure you can make a Rank 10 monster even if your hand is weird and only has one Level 10 available.

Thanks to Anger being a quick effect, it's also able to trigger the Field on your opponent's turn, giving you a lot more defenses than one would expect.

The goal of Trains if forced to go first is to survive and mount a comeback or an OTK with Liebe, which the Link monster helps out in doing so. Super Dora plus Derricrane under it with Anger Knuckle is usually fine.

It's also able to bring itself back if it gets wiped out, giving the deck good recovery.

Combo Gadget

Platinum Gadget is an underrated pick in most Machine decks and enables some slick combo lines.
Its biggest claim to fame was being a key part of Cyber Dragon Orcust. The gadget was key for its first effect which let you play with crusty hands or after interruption.
Start with your Cyber Dragons and then Xyz for Infinitrack River Stormer. Use River Stormer's effect to add Scrap Recycler to then be summoned off Plat by linking into it. Recycler lets you kickstart your Orcust plays by dumping a key piece such as Harp Horror or Knightmare. River Stormer can then get Plat Gadget off the field, getting around its restriction, and then summoning itself.
Platinum Gadget is also capable of popping up in Machine good stuff piles, able to make cards like Anchor Drill or even its own Gadget monsters work to great extent. There have been a lot of developed lines for plays such as True King of All Calamities and many more.
While it does have all these upsides, its restriction does tend to hurt it more than it helps more often than not which limits its potential.
To conclude, it is a fine unlinkable.

Import Limbo Escapee

It took over a year and a half for Scarecrow to hit the TCG, but the wait is worth it. Scarecrow has strengthened the Superheavy Samurai to a respectable level.
This SHS revitalized the deck's play styles, helping all the theme's variants. Whether be it for OTK, for combo, or some kind of in-between, Scarecrow is your go-to and you should not run any less than two copies.
Should your main cards such as Wagon get stopped, you can link them off into this and still continue to truck along! In addition to that, it is an easy way to trigger Soulpiercer without using up a tuner or going for a Synchro Summon. A mention has to go with reviving Superheavy Samurai Scales as it gives you a lot of free summons and materials.
The link can be prone to interruption itself, but the card is great in its respective deck.
Lastly, it is good to know that Superheavy Samurai Soulpeacemaker can remove it from your EMZ if needed. Gives a free SHS to boot! What's not to love?
For an unlinkable, it is only really good in its deck, but that is more than enough.

Honorable Mentions

We can't go into all of them in detail, so here's a quick look on some of the others.
Armillyre, the Starleader Dragon was nice in OCG SPYRAL since it gave a lot of power plays from just opening Quik-Fix and an extender. It is also an okay card on its own, though a little limited.
Appliancers for having a cute gimmick and some funny Bardiche options.
Bujinki Ahashima as a playable tech card in Xyz focused decks.
Folgo for having some good potential if wielded properly, but it is a little hard to summon.

Ending on a Whimper

As scary as this ancient menace was in the WL lore, World Gears does not live up to its showing in the card game.
Not only is it difficult to summon, its effect to nuke the board is too hard to do thanks to needing three types/attributes.
Grabbing a World Legacy monster from the Deck is hardly worth the effort too. One could point to its protection and high ATK stats, but there are other ways of dealing with it easily. Cards like Imperm or simply punching over it can ruin your day fast, leaving all your efforts to waste.
The final nail in the coffin is the release of the BLS Link 3 monster. Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Chaos is a better boss monster than World Gears in nearly every way. It's a lot easier to make and has more all-around protection for itself. BLS also has three good effects to pick from when it slays monsters by battle, including a banish of any card on the field.
While it is not the worst choice out there, Demiurgy is not an unlinkable that you'd run in your deck for serious play.

Conclusion

And that does it for Part two folks! Which of the unlinkable(s) here is your favorite? Did I miss out on anything big? Feel free to let me know down in the comments.
