Believe it or not, Goukis work perfectly fine built pure too. Mainly as a OTK deck, instead of an extra link lockdown/otk deck. Pure Goukis work as a very good OTK/beatdown deck perfect for those new to MR4, let alone Yugioh as a whole.
The deck has a linear strategy, yet fully open for combos/engines to splash in. This current build is the one i use. It can easily stand up against the more meta decks of the format like Sky Striker, Trickstar, etc. While also being able to hold up in a Grind Game (if needed to). Just simply turbo out Jet Ogre, then use Jet as material for Great Ogre (the boss monster of the deck.) Best part is; when main deck Goukis (except for Trainer and Moonsault) are sent from the field to the GY AT ALL, you get to float into any Gouki card from your deck, perfect for finding combo pieces you need for your OTK. This deck needs to go 2nd to actually in the small case you DO happen to go 1st, cards like Solemn Strike and Octostretch definitely help. One more thing, an obscure trap called Super Team Buddy Force Unite! can be extremely helpful. not only is it a non-opt, it can get BOTH effects of SS a Gouki from your hand or GY just by targeting any warrior on the field and replace itself with another copy directly from the deck for next turn (if you activate it at the right time of course.) Definitely worth trying out.
Hope this helps Goukis get more notice outside of just the vastly superior meta extra link/firewall abuse turbo build.
