I am completely for suggestions. If you have any please tell me in the comments. I do want to try to put in a third Blackbeard, the Plunder Patroll Captain, so if anyone has a suggestion on what I should take out, please tell me. Knightmare Cerberus is there in case the Nibiru token gets too big. Anyway, this isn't necessarily a combo deck, but I thought I would toss these in either way. Oh yeah, when I say "Boat" I am referring to the Plunder Patroll Extra Deck Monsters, excluding the Link Moster.

Goldenhair, the Newest Plunder Patroll & a Discard = Blackbeard, the Plunder Patroll Captain

  1. Normal Summon Goldenhair
  2. Link Summon Salamangreat Almiraj
  3. Discard a card, Special Summon Goldenhair from the GY
  4. Link Summon Blackbeard

Goldenhair & a Discard + Any Level 4 WATER Extender = Blackbeard & Toadally Awesome

  1. Normal Summon Goldenhair
  2. Special Summon Extender
  3. Xyz Summon Bahamut Shark
  4. Activate Bahamut's effect, detaching Goldenhair, summoning Toad
  5. Activate Goldenhair to revive him from the GY
  6. Link Summon Blackbeard using Bahamut and Goldenhair

Ok, we've tackled the basics, let's get into Halq.

Whitebeard, the Plunder Patroll Helm & Any Extender = Crystron Quariongandrax & Any Boat

  1. Normal Summon Whitebeard
  2. Special Summon Extender
  3. Link Summon Crystron Halqifibrax
  4. Activate Whitebeard's effect Chain Link 1, activate Halq's effect Chain Link 2
  5. Halq summons Effect Veiler, Whitebeard summons Redbeard, the Plunder Patroll Matey
  6. Pass turn
  7. During your opponent's turn, active Halq's effect, summoning Crystron Quandax
  8. Now, at any point during your opponent's turn in which you wish to activate Redbeard, activate him as Chain Link 1
  9. Activate Quandax as Chain Link 2 in response
  10. Using all 3 of your monsters onfield, Synchro Summon Quariongandrax, and then Redbeard will summon the Boat of choice
  11. Now since Redbeard was sent to the GY, he can activate his second effect (which will not miss timing as it says "If"), and equip himself to your Boat

Don't forget that you also get Quariongandrax's effect as well. But let's say things didn't go so well. Let's say your opponent used an Ash Blossom, an Imperm, or a Veiler on your Halq. Any HT that negates his on-summon effect but leaves him on-field. Is it the end of the world? No, it isn't. You will still have your Redbeard and your Quandax, you just won't be able to make Quariongandrax. Instead, you can make a Level 8 Synchro of choice. You are not limited to what is in this decklist. Even if the first effect of Halq resolves, nobody said you had to go for Veiler. You can summon a Ghost Ogre instead, as her effect can activate on-field, unlike Ash Blossom. But, if you go for Ghost Ogre instead of Veiler, know that you won't be able to summon Quariongandrax, you will be stuck with a Level 8 Synchro instead. With a Boat, of course.

Anyway, moving on from Halq for now, let's get into the next play.

Whitebeard & Goldenhair + Plunder Patroll Shipshape Ships Shipping = Almiraj &
Plunder Patrollship Lys equipped with Emblem of the Plunder Patroll + Redbeard

  1. Normal Summon Goldenhair
  2. Link Summon Almiraj
  3. Discard Whitebeard, reviving Goldenhair from the GY
  4. Activate Whitebeard's effect, summoning Redbeard
  5. Activate Shipshape, summoning Lys using Goldenhair and Redbeard
  6. Activate Redbeard's effect, attaching him to Lys
  7. Activate Shipshape's GY effect, equipping Lys with Emblem
  8. Activate Lys's effect, summoning the equipped Redbeard

Whitebeard & Goldenhair + Any Level 4 Extender = Blackbeard & Plunder Patrollship Moerk (equipped with Redbeard)

  1. Normal Summon Goldenhair
  2. Special Summon Extender
  3. Link Summon Almiraj
  4. Discard Whitebeard to bring back Goldenhair from the GY
  5. Whitebeard's effect summons a Redbeard from deck
  6. Overlay your extender and your Goldenhair into Moerk
  7. Link Summon Blackbeard using Almiraj and Redbeard
  8. Activate Redbeard's effect, attaching him to Moerk

Ok, back to Halq.

Whitebeard & Any Extender + Emblem = Any Level 8 Synchro & Lys (equipped with Redbeard) + Blackbeard & Any Boat

  1. Normal Summon Whitebeard
  2. Special Summon Extender
  3. Link Summon Halq
  4. Chain Link 1 Whitebeard, Chain Link 2 Halq
  5. Halq summons Any LIGHT Monster
  6. Whitebeard summons Redbeard
  7. Equip Emblem to Redbeard
  8. Emblem effect, summon Lys (LIGHT Tuner from Halq)
  9. Link Summon Blackbeard w/ Redbeard & Tuner
  10. Redbeard equips to Lys
  11. Pass turn
  12. During the opponent's turn, Halq can summon Quandax, and Lys can summon Redbeard
  13. Now, at any point during your opponent's turn in which you wish to activate Redbeard, activate him as Chain Link 1
  14. Activate Quandax as Chain Link 2 in response
  15. Using Quandax & Redbeard, you can make a Level 8 Synchro of choice & a Boat
  16. Equip Redbeard to Lys

When it comes to Extenders and Level 8 Synchros, you are not limited to any of the ones in this list. In fact, I may leave these combos here even if I take out some of the pieces; that just means I don't think they're worth playing at the moment. If you think they are worth playing at any given point, go ahead. Oh, and of course, do not run Veiler unless you are going one of the combos above. The card sucks in comparison to other hand traps right now. Now, a little batch of Level 4 WATER Extenders for you to consider:

  • Silent Angler: Can be summoned from hand as long as you control a WATER Monster, but prevents you from summoning any other Monsters from your hand for the rest of the turn. I was playing him until Ravenwing, the Plunder Patroll Pilot was revealed, as now there are too many Monsters conflicting with Angler's restriction.
  • Aqua Spirit: While she may not share the restrictions of Angler, she does require set-up, and now with Ravenwing, this card is looking even less convincing. An option nonetheless. Fenrir follows the same foot but is even harder to bring out, and even harsher on your GY.
  • White Stingray: This card seemed lacking to me at first. We need Plunder names in hand, preferably at all times. However, with Ravenwing's ability to bounce Plunders from the GY back to the hand, it looks a bit more convincing. Can't forget the fact that it triggers the Plunder's floating effects.
  • Tenyi Spirit - Shthana: My favorite extender currently (that isn't a Plunder) Shtana operates differently than the other extenders. While most can or need to be summoned after you put down a Plunder, Shthana needs to be put down before anything else, requiring you to control no effect monsters. Meaning it only works on the first turn, and when you're losing. But, like every other extender here, it doesn't have the Angler restriction.

One last note. When playing Plunder, it is very easy to miss lethal, as they usually have the power to end games on board, but it isn't smack in your face like other archetypes. The main places you should be looking for power are: the 500 from Emblem (and the monster it attaches), the 500 to all other Fiend monsters from Brann, and the massive boost from Plunder Patroll Shipyarrrd's first effect (yes, reading has its benefits). Oh, and if you choose to run him, don't forget the boost from Abyss Dweller.

And yeah, that's about it. Plunder Patrol is a midrange deck, not a combo deck. If you can make it to turn 3 or 4, the duel is typically in your favor, as you only ramp up from there. Once again, if you have suggestions, I am more than willing to hear them.

Sup I like to play this children's card game. I try to make my decklists optimal, as I am interested in the competitive scene. If you have any questions about my lists, toss em in the comments.
