This is my take at building a "Digital Bug" deck. "Digital Bugs" are often labeled as the test version for the "Zoodiac" archetype, since they use their archetypal monsters to stack into other monsters at their disposal. They are, however, a lot weaker due to overall weaker effects, the need for Xyz materials to start Xyz climbing and the focus on position changing. Nonetheless, they gained a support card in Blazing Vortex that helps immensely and makes them a fun little deck that can actually use its gimmick to full effect.
Due to their restrictiveness in summoning by asking for specific Attribute/Type combinations, you will have to run quite a lot of the archetype's monsters. I run three "Digital Bug Resistrider", which is an amazing support card that can manipulate levels, Special Summon itself when a Level 3 Insect monster is Normal Summoned and allows for position changing which benefits the overall strategy. "Digital Bug Centibit" summons monsters from the deck and allows the Xyz monster this monster is material of to attack all opposing defense position monsters. "Digital Bug Websolder" changes positions, Special Summons Level 3 Insects from the hand and makes defense values 0 when used as Xyz material. "Digital Bug LEDybug" searches and allows Xyz monsters to draw cards whenever they destroy monsters in battle. "Digital Bug Cocoondenser" is primarily used as a monster revive.
Non-archetypal monsters include "Galaxy Worm" and "Galaxy Soldier", which provide easily summonable and self-searching Level 3/Level 5 monsters, "Honest" as surprising ATK boosts, "Bachibachibachi" to deal trample damage when used as Xyz material and "Mirror Ladybug" as an additional Special Summon.
The backrow is pretty straightforward: "Raigeki" and "Harpie's Feather Duster" clear front and backrow respectively, "Pot of Desires" is a useful draw option that does not really deal any damage to the overall consistency since every necessary card is at three, three "Bug Signal" allows your Xyz monster to dodge certain targeting effects and serves as the "Digital Bug" Rank-Up. Three copies of "Bug Emergency" can provide additional monsters for Xyz summons while also giving you an easier time summoning higher ranked monsters, three "Stumbling" trigger summoning effects of "Digital Bug" monsters while providing some field control and lastly two "Curse of Anubis" to have position changing on reaction. I also included "Solemn Strike" and "Solemn Warning" to potentially stop opposing plays.
The Extra Deck looks as follows: Three "Digital Bug Scaradiator" are absolutely necessary for climbing, beatdown and useful effect negation, two "Digital Bug Corebage" have grown on me since they do actually work quite well and one "Digital Bug Rhinosebus" as a finisher/beatdown option. Going into "Cyber Dragon Nova"/"Cyber Dragon Infinity" is a useful option that can be opted into rather often, "Inzektor Exa-Stag" is another Rank-Up option, while "Super Quantal Mech Beast Grampulse" is backrow removal. The deck included one "Number 20: Giga-Brilliant" which was a worst-case-scenario option, but after some feedback I included a copy of "Number 3: Cicada King" for being an absolute god-send that interacts with the "Digital Bug" archetype in various ways. The Link monsters consist of "Inzektor Picofalena" for small stat boosts, deck thinning and card draw, "Armillyre, the Starleader Dragon" for Special Summoning, "Topologic Trisbaena" as an improved backrow remover and "Saryuja Skull Dread" for all the useful things the monster does.
This "Digital Bug" build is certainly not the end-all-solution to what can be done with this archetype. However, I think this is a valid start.
