Yubel Prediction Princess
Deck Primer
I will be completely real when I say that Yubel as an archetype with its support from PHNI and LEDE is a lot more playable than Ashened is. And that is why you are seeing this Yubel Prediction Princess Deck from me and not an Ashened Prediction Princess list just yet. Yubel had a Level 9 monster revealed for its archetype recently in Phantom of Yubel which is a Level 9 DARK Fiend Fusion Monster that requires a Yubel monster and a Fiend monster with 0 ATK and DEF as Fusion Material and it must be Special Summoned from your Extra Deck by shuffling those materials from your hand, field, and/or GY into the Deck and/or Extra Deck. It cannot be destroyed by battle and you take no battle damage from battles involving it. And when your opponent activates a monster effect, you can Quick Effect Tribute it in order to change that effect to “Your opponent destroys 1 Yubel monster in their hand, Deck, or field. This is just an incredible card for Yubel, giving the archetype more ways to play and interact on your opponent’s turn and it is very easily Summonable considering the archetype only consists of Yubel monsters and 0 ATK/0 DEF Fiends. With the release of Nightmare Throne in LEDE, I believe that this Deck is very competent in getting you through both your Yubel combo, getting you to the Level 9 Phantom of Yubel, and transitioning to a full Prediction Princess combo. Full combo is World Legacy Monstrosity and any way to Samsara D Lotus. Normal Lotus and Tribute it to Special Summon Spirit of Yubel from Deck. Spirit of Yubel sets Eternal Favorite from your Deck to your Spell/Trap Zone. Shuffle Spirit of Yubel from field and Samsara D Lotus from GY into the Deck to Special Summon Phantom of Yubel from Extra Deck. Now just activate Monstrosity targeting it to Special Summon Prediction Princess Bibliomuse and Deus-X Krawler from Deck for Rank 9 access for Mereologic Aggregator, giving you full Prediction Princess combo. But what if you want to keep Phantom of Yubel on field as interruption and also to make use of Eternal Favorite on your opponent’s turn? Well, that would mean that we would need to Xyz using Bibliomuse and Deus-X rather than Deus-X and Phantom of Yubel. I have taken this into account which is why we are also playing Pre-Preparation of Rites and Prediction Ritual. Either you search what you would’ve searched off Bibliomuse off of Pre-Prep instead or you just hard draw a Bibliomuse to begin with or you open Instant Fusion for Master of Ham to get Bibliomuse from Deck. That would allow you to keep Phantom of Yubel on field to fade a monster effect and pop Spirit of Yubel in Deck to float into a Yubel from Deck, turning on Eternal Favorite to be able to Super Poly the board and go into Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever. I think that the Yubel support is all incredibly neat and very playable (surprisingly), but when I see a Level 9, you know what I gotta do.
For the monsters: 3 Prediction Princess Tarotrei, 1 Prediction Princess Tarotreith, and 3 Prediction Princess Bibliomuse. Tarotrei is a Quick Effect to flip a monster face-up or face-down and during the End Phase, she can Special Summon a Flip Monster from hand or GY face-down. Tarotreith can either be Ritual Summoned or Special Summoned via Tarotrei’s End Phase effect. On flip, she can Special Summon a Flip Monster from your Deck face-down and she can Quick Effect flip any number of your monsters either face-up or face-down. Bibliomuse can Special Summon herself back from GY face-down if she was tributed and sent there. On flip, she can add a Prediction Princess monster other than herself and a Ritual Spell from Deck to hand, and while she’s face-up on field, your Ritual Monsters gain targeting and destruction protection from your opponent’s effects. 2 Deus-X Krawler which negates all activated monster effects on your opponent’s side of the field after it has been flipped face-up and if it is destroyed on field, you can search for a Level 9 monster with a different Type and Attribute than it from Deck. 1 Yubel which we aren’t really using for its effect, but as a Summon off of Spirit of Yubel which would turn on the effect to Fusion Summon using either field with Eternal Favorite. 2 Spirit of Yubel who we are using for 2 things. On Special Summon, you can add to your hand or set a Spell/Trap that mentions Yubel from Deck. I don’t know why it also adds. It’s not like the archetype has a Quick-Play Spell that you would need to add to your hand instead of setting to activate. Just makes this effect able to be Ashed. And the other thing that we are using her for is Special Summoning a Yubel that is banished or in your hand, Deck, or GY on destruction. Again, we are popping her with Phantom of Yubel while in Deck to get Yubel onto field to turn on Eternal Favorite. We only need 2 because we just need to ensure we have a copy in Deck. No need to play 3. This is Prediction Princess, not pure Yubel. 3 Samsara D Lotus which Tributes itself to Special Summon a Yubel monster from Deck. That is pretty much all that we are using it for. It has other effects that may come up in some situations, but we are almost never going to be getting into those situations to actually make use of Lotus. This is the card that gives us access to our whole Yubel side of our Deck’s combo. We are already playing 3 copies of it along with 3 Nightmare Throne, the 1 Terraforming, and 3 Pot of Prosperity, so we have plenty of ways to access it. We are not playing Infernal Grave Squirmer despite it being a good card in Yubel because it is much better in a Deck more centralized around Yubel as the main focal point of the Deck rather than Yubel as an engine. But I’ll probably test it with Lady of Lament and Terrors of the Afterroot.
Spell/Traps: 3 Pre-Preparation of Rites. 2 Prediction Ritual which Specifically Ritual Summons Tarotrei and you can banish it from GY except the turn it was sent there in order to search for a Prediction Princess monster. 3 Underworld Ritual of Prediction which Ritual Summons a PRediction Princess Ritual Monster from your hand or GY face-up or face-down and you can banish it from GY during the Standby Phase to Special Summon a non-Ritual Prediction Princess monster from your Deck face-down. 3 Pot of Prosperity. 3 Nightmare Throne which, on activation, adds a Fiend monster with 0 ATK and 0 DEF from your Deck and either adds it to your hand or destroys it. And once per turn, if a face-up Yubel monster(s) you control leaves the field by a card effect, you can add a Yubel monster that is banished or in Deck or GY whose original Level is 1 higher or 1 lower than the Level of 1 of the monsters that left the field had and then you can Special Summon it ignoring its Summoning Conditions. If anything, we are just using Nightmare Throne to search. Yes, we could theoretically make use of its other effect, but since we aren’t playing an actual Yubel Deck with Terror Incarnate and Ultimate Nightmare, this effect really doesn’t do much for us, so it is best not to worry yourself with trying to play in accordance to that effect. 1 Terraforming. 1 Instant Fusion for Master of Ham. 3 World Legacy Monstrosity which either Special Summons a Level 9 monster from your hand or targets a Level 9 monster you control to Special Summon 2 Level 9 monsters from your Deck with a different Type and Attribute than that monster but with different names. 1 Called By the Grave and 1 Harpie’s Feather Duster. 3 Infinite Impermanence and 1 Eternal Favorite. Eternal Favorite is a Continuous Trap that can once per turn either Special Summon a Yubel monster from banishment or GY (with neither player being able to respond to the Summon) or if you control Yubel, you can discard a card and send Eternal Favorite to GY to Fusion Summon using monsters from either field including a Yubel monster. I was planning on playing Nightmare Pain also as a way to potentially search for some form of follow-up for your Yubel stuff, but I just felt like Eternal Favorite just did way more.
Extra Deck: 1 Yubel - The Loving Defender Forever which requires a Yubel monster and 1 or more Effect Monsters as Fusion Material and if it is Fusion Summoned, you can inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each material used for its Summon. IT cannot be destroyed by battle or card effect and you take no battle damage from battles involving it. And it has an effect similar to Ultimate Nightmare where at the end of the Damage Step, if it battled an opponent’s monster, you inflict damage to your opponent equal to that monster’s ATk and then banish that monster. This card is just a great card to go into with Super Poly-esque effects like that of Eternal Favorite and considering that it needs a Yubel monster and 1 or more Effect Monsters as material, it can easily Fuse away your opponent’s whole board. 2 Phantom of Yubel. I thought about playing just the 1 copy of it at first, but it is practically a contact fusion of sorts and is really easily Summonable. Considering that we are more than likely able to get the right monsters into rotation to Summon it again on turn 3, I feel like playing the second copy gives you more assurance against your opponent’s monster effects on turn 3 and also gives you a Level 9 to work with as well. 1 Garura, Wings of Resonant Life and 1 Mudragon of the Swamp as Super Poly targets. And it is also important to mention that you just need to use a Yubel monster as Fusion Material when Fusion Summoning using Eternal Favorite. You are not locked into Yubel Fusions, so under certain instances, you could possibly go for either Mudragon or Garura if you want to make use of their effects - Garura drawing 1 if sent to GY or Mudragon being able to change its Attribute and make monsters on the field with the same Attribute be untargetable. 1 Master of Ham which Special Summons a Flip Monster from hand or Deck face-down on Fusion Summon. 2 Herald of the Arc Light which searches for a Ritual Monster or Ritual Spell if sent to GY. 2 Mereologic Aggregator, 1 Laevateinn, Generaider Boss of Shadows, and 1 Jormungandr, Generaider Boss of Eternity. 1 S:P Little Knight, 1 I:P Masquerena, and 1 Gravity Controller.
Side Deck: 3 Nibiru, the Primal Being, 3 Thunder King, the Lightningstrike Kaiju, 2 Gizmek Kaku, the Supreme Shining Sky Stag, 2 Cosmic Cyclone, 2 Super Polymerization, and 3 Evenly Matched.
