One of the major power players of the format, XYZ Union focuses on the three individual monsters X-Head Cannon (noticeably not actually a union monster), Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank. The gameplay is simple. First, use Foolish Burial to send X-Head Cannon to the GY, then use the field spell Union Hangar to search Y-Dragon Head, then summon Y-Dragon Head and equip it with Z-Metal Tank from the deck. From there you can use the Union Combination pre-errata skill to banish all three to summon out the headliner XYZ-Dragon Cannon. The trap card Union Scramble allows you to target up to 3 banished monsters and special summon them, while also generating card advantage while the card is in the graveyard. The deck is rounded off with staple backrow cards Book of Moon and Offerings to the Doomed, with extra options of Cosmic Cyclone and Floodgate Trap Hole in the side deck. As the extra deck is full of XYZ pieces, this deck cannot play Waking the Dragon.
