I was playing Branded with the new support and I got struck by a realisation:
Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous , a spellcaster monster who fusion summons as a quick effect? This girl is a Witchcrafter monster.
The aim of this deck is to find Cartesia with Fusion Deployment or Branded in High Spirits along with any witchcrafter to make Witchcrafter Vice-Madame and combo off, usually ending with her + Witchcrafter Madame Verre , Witchcrafter Bystreet and a pile of spells in hand. I've also put in a Tearlament package because we can summon Tearlaments Reinoheart from deck with Fusion Deployment and mill a bunch of useful witchcrafter spells, then end on Tearlaments Rulkallos .
This deck is really bad going second. Sorry. Forbidden Droplet helps, but there's only so much we can do.
Here are some notes on specific cards I've chosen to include:
Albion the Shrouded Dragon is basically upstart goblin if we draw it, and if we open with a cartesia available we can use Branded in High Spirits to search him and dump another high spirits to draw one card. Deck thinning! Also if we mill/discard him, we get to special summon Cartesia from hand every turn.
Branded in High Spirits Most of the time we will reveal any spellcaster to send it + Granguignol the Dusk Dragon to GY and add Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous to hand. But as mentioned above, we can also search albion in a pinch. But if we get lucky and open a tearlament girl we can instead send Tearlaments Rulkallos to fetch cartesia, because rulk is a level 8 fusion monster with 2500 def. Neat. And high spirits discards for effect, so the tear girl we discard will be able to immediately fuse into either Tearlaments Kitkallos or Predaplant Dragostapelia .
Tearlaments. The usual combo after succesfully making Vice-Madame is: Summon reino with Fusion Deployment , send havnis, make kitkalos, add merrli, send kit to gy to summon merrli, mill 8 feel great, then use vice-madame to destroy merrli and summon rulk when our witchcrafter spells or cartesia trigger in end phase.
Spright Sprind is the reason Witchcrafter Potterie is in the deck. We can summon her from deck with vice-madame and make sprind, then send merrli to GY in order to fuse into either a tear fusion or Predaplant Dragostapelia or Granguignol the Dusk Dragon . I experimented with elf as well but very rarely found it useful compared to sprind.
Despian Proskenion is optional, but I like having it because it's just free off a grang in grave.
Accesscode Talker If we have the right materials we can pretty easily climb into him from two monsters via a charmer and Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians . Notably, accesscode + vice-madame together deal exactly 8000 damage.
Don't just use Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians to climb into accesscode though because we have a ton of amazing spellcaster monsters we want to summon from hand/GY.
Guardian Chimera NOTE: The on-summon effect only triggers if summoned by a spell card, so if you make it with cartesia you don't get to draw/destroy. Sometimes worth it anyway for the high attack. You could swap it out for Quintet Magician I suppose, if you feel spicy.
Feel free to tweak the witchcrafter spell ratios to your liking, but 3 Witchcrafter Creation is essential. I'm not running many handtraps because we need to keep the monster count down, and also it sucks if they get milled instead of something useful. It's probably better to cut the 2 effect veilers for one maxx c, but i only own 2 copies and i hate the card and so I never end up crafting the 3rd one. That said, effect veiler has additional utility in this deck, as it can be used as material for our spellcaster fusion monsters, or discarded with high spirits to find cartesia.
