It's time to go fishing with the power of the white fish(and space fish). The new white aura support cards have added a new dimension to the ghoti playstyle, allowing for easy access to the ghoti line and a sweep of powerful water ED monsters. In this discription I will give a card by card and at the end i will give an example of a standard line.
Icejade Ran Aegirine: Pitch a water to access any link 2 or synchro 10. typically a backup plan if your board is Nibirued, though it does put fish into the GY for white mirror.
Ghoti lineup: the reason for playing 1 of each of the good ghotis is because through the white monsters you get easy access to Arionpos who gets any of the ghoti rotation banished. The ghotis on their own don't facilitate much so you dont want to max out on basically any of them but you want at least 1 of each name for setups. Drawing them is not that big of an issue since alot of the deck is extenders so wasting a normal on Shif doesnt feel that bad. Remember, ghotis also play on both players turns.
Abyss shark: extender, searches basically your entire deck, whats not to like?
Lifeless Leaffish: the best normal summon in the deck. sends shif who then banishes itself to setup for your opponents turn and recovers and draws in the GY. And to head off any questions about why no beatunaful princess, you already have plenty of ways to search leafless so no point in wasting your normal on ash bait. plus no monster on board means you cant use abyss sharks eff.
White stingray: Honestly the cuttable member of the white lineup but I like it since it can setup some dead ghotis in hand by pitching them and is a fine target for white mirror. but still its very cuttable.
White Sunfish and White Sardines: The stars of the show(no offense to the ghotis). Sardine pitches another of itself from the deck FOR COST to summon itself and sunfish can summon itself and another fish in the GY if you control a monster with the same name. So basically pitch sardine, summon sardine, target sardine with sunfish, summon itself and summon sardine in GY that then becomes a tuner. I'll get into more of the combo later but one thing i'll end on is that all the white aura monsters can become tuners if summoned from the GY.
White Reincarnation: Searches any of the white monsters. Its other 2 effects arent really important since you arent trying to end on the White aura synchros, but they can be usful effects if you have to tunnel into a white aura line for the sake of boardbreaking and OTKs.
White Mirror: Monster reborn for any of the Level 4 or lower fish while also searching another copy from your deck(thought this does mean it can be ashed.)
Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign: Usually you are making this off Icejade Ran, though its matchup dependent. It's banish effect can trigger when you banish ghotis or for ghoti effects so you could banish alot off a normal ghoti combo.
Icejade Gymir: The prefered summon off icejade ran when going first. Its quick effect is both protection and removal if you chain it to an opponents card activation. And it can bring itself back when your opponent banishes something.
Ghoti of the Deep Beyond: The boss of the ghotis. Massive board nuke and brings itself back as a big boi. Pretty standard stuff.
Ravenour Crocosaurus: There is a simple line with Sardines + abyss shark that lets you make this with 3 materials netting you a draw 2. Can be very useful to get out of sticky hands and can TECHNICALLY be ghoti quick synchro into though the board setup is pretty suspect.
Adamancipater Dragite: Standard Water boss monster. Just a Free spell/trap negate.
White Aura Whale: Helps with clearing boards and is pretty useful for OTKs with reincarnation up. Both Whale and Porpoise bring themselves back when destroyed by banishing another fish in the GY(I.e. Ghotis) and thats not once per turn so you could keep bringing them back.
Askaan, The Bicorned Ghoti: Ghotis TRUE boss monster. When summoned, banishes itself and another card on field, then banishes a fish in the GY to bring itself back. The main monster you go into during your opponents turn as interaction and to banish the ghoti used for its summon.
Arionpos: The cetral playmaker for the deck. Banishes any fish from your deck and when used as synchro material, banishes a fish to search a fish with equal or lower level. I could list a number of uses for this card but that would be its own page so to sum it up, this card is GOOD.
White Aura Porpoise: On summon, brings back any fish and if you have another copy in the GY, brings that back too. Can be very useful for synchro laddering.
Coral Anemone: Easy to make, and can be extension by bringing back the lower Atk fish. Has allowed the deck to play through multiple disruptions and still have access to Arionpos.
Abyss keeper: Extender to get dead ghotis out of the hand and can also be removal.
Number 4: Stealth Kragen: Its actually easy to make Kragen in this deck since Abyss shark treats itself as a 4 if used for the XYZ summon of a number monster. Just another piece of removal.
TY-PHON: Honestly a flex slot and can be anything. Little knight if you are rich, Worldsea dragon for cleaning up boardstates. You get locked into Waters pretty frequently so generic good stuff is few and far between.
I think this deck can be pretty competitive and has play around most handtraps. Ash is nothing, droll can be played through with the White Auras, even D-shifter isnt that great since ghotis are used to playing banished. The main handtrap that has been an issue for me is Nibiru and the main way to play around it is to end on a mid-power board, let them nib, then use icejade ran or normal summon leaffish(yes you can do an entire combo line without normal summoning once).
Heres a combo line with Sardines and Abyss Shark:
Special Sardines(sending another to the GY from deck), activate Abyss shark summoning itself and searching sunfish. Use sunfish to bring itself out and bring back the Sardine in the GY, making it a tuner. Use the tuner Sardine and the Sunfish to make arionpos. Use Arionpos to banish Paces. Use Shark and the other Sardine to make coral anemone. Bring back either Sardines or Sunfish, make either a tuner, then use Arionpos and either tuner to make Dragite or Supreme Sovereing respectively. Use Arionpos second effect, banish itself, search leaffish. Normal Leaffish, use its effect to send Shif. Banish Shif to increase ATK(though this part doesnt matter). During your opponets standby, Paces and Shif both comeback and you have quickplay access to the arionpos-Askaan-Deep line all on your opponents turn.
