"Altergeist" is an archetype introduced during the Link Era in VRAINS, used by Ghost Girl, these spectral Spellcaster monsters quickly became a meta threat in their time, being infamous for abusing floodgates, such as Mystic Mine, most of which have since been banned. After several years, they recieved new wave of support from "Duelist Nexus" turned the former Control strategy into a Mid-Range one, making it much more viable in the modern metagame, due to getting better cards, but also changed the direction the archetype strives for, leaving the deck somewhat aimless, similar to how they revamped "Traptrix".
The current best Turn 1 Play you can make is normal summoning Altergeist Meluseek and Link Summon Altergeist Hexstia using the Meluseek on field and a Altergeist Pookuery in hand, then activate the effect of Meluseek when sent to the GY to add a card they just recieved in Altergeist Malwisp, which can reborn an Altergeist from your GY, giving you monsters worth 4 Link Materials, allowing you to make their new Link Monster, Altergeist Adminia, which can set an Altergeist Trap from your deck and has a quick effect Snatch Steal.
If you set Altergeist Haunted Rock with Adminia's effect, you can activate it the turn it was set, and since you activated a Trap Card, you can summon the main playmaker of the deck, Altergeist Multifaker, which summons another Altergeist from your deck upon being Special Summoned, though this effect has a hard restriction where you can only Special Summon Altergeist monsters the turn you activate it. The usual target for this effect is Altergeist Silquitous, which has a quick effect to bounce another Altergeist you control as cost to bounce a card your opponent controls, which can return Multifaker to hand, and if you have activated a trap card this turn, you can use Multifaker once again. The goal of the deck is to loop Multifaker every turn, negate monster effects with Altergeist Protocol, and negate backrow with Hexstia.
