Power: Low Rogue (7.3/10) - Fully TCG-legal and cleaner than the previous list, but still Low Rogue because the Insect Queen, Giant Ballpark, DNA Surgery, and Insect Barrier package costs space that a pure Traptrix control deck would spend on more compact traps, extenders, or modern Traptrix cards outside the Link Evolution pool.
Consistency: Strong for a theme-first control deck. Myrmeleo, Mantis, Dionaea, Sera, Rafflesia, Pot of Extravagance, Giant Ballpark, Gokipole, Trap Trick, and Terraforming give the deck several ways to find either the Traptrix engine or the insect pressure line. The illegal second Called by the Grave became the third Infinite Impermanence, which is stronger interaction and keeps the list current-list legal.
Ceiling: Moderate to strong. The best boards use Sera plus trap interaction, Rafflesia covering a Trap Hole effect from deck, Impermanence or Trap Trick as live disruption, and Giant Ballpark turning battles into insect swarms. DNA Surgery plus Insect Barrier gives a very Weevil-style lock, while Metamorphosed Insect Queen turns insect bodies into protection and pressure.
Recovery: Good. Dionaea recovers Traptrix monsters and resets Trap Hole pressure, Sera keeps generating advantage as traps are activated, Pot of Extravagance refills hands, Gokipole and Ballpark replace insect bodies, and Metamorphosed Insect Queen can stabilize boards when the deck has insects to protect.
Going first/second: Best going first. It wants to establish Sera, Rafflesia, Trap Hole pressure, Impermanence, Ballpark, or the DNA Surgery/Insect Barrier lock before the opponent can build freely. Going second, the side deck brings Dark Ruler No More, Evenly Matched, Nibiru, Gadarla, Twin Twisters, Droll, and Pankratops.
Choke points: Stop Myrmeleo or Mantis from reaching the Traptrix setup, remove Sera before normal traps start snowballing, clear Rafflesia before committing special-summoned monsters, answer Giant Ballpark before battle, and remove DNA Surgery or Insect Barrier before the lock takes over. Backrow removal is especially strong if it hits the continuous pieces before they matter.
Key cards: Traptrix Myrmeleo, Traptrix Mantis, Traptrix Dionaea, Traptrix Sera, Traptrix Rafflesia, Trap Trick, Infinite Impermanence, Giant Ballpark, Gokipole, Shiny Black C Squadder, DNA Surgery, Insect Barrier, Metamorphosed Insect Queen, Insect Queen, Parasite Paranoid, Pot of Extravagance.
Key combos: Myrmeleo searches a Trap Hole, then links into Sera so later normal traps generate Traptrix follow-up. Dionaea revives Myrmeleo or Mantis and can reset Trap Hole pressure. Rafflesia sends Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare, Floodgate Trap Hole, or Bottomless Trap Hole from deck as interaction. Giant Ballpark uses Shiny Black C Squadder to flood the field and trigger Gokipole lines. DNA Surgery naming Insect turns Insect Barrier into a battle lock, while Metamorphosed Insect Queen protects and pressures once the field is stocked with insects.
