Introduction
(First of all, sorry for my bad english and grammatical errors. I hope you'll still read the explanation. Thanks)
This is a budget list of Springans, a for fun deck that I really like to play. If you're interested in a non-budget list, check my other Decklist: https://ygoprodeck.com/deck/springans-pure-post-phhy-324130
Deck Explanation
The deck we are talking about is Springans, an archetype that came out 2 years ago in Blazing Vortex. The deck received a lot of supports over the years, but the deck remained just a for fun deck, that rarely saw any kind of competitive result. Thanks to this, the deck doesn't have expensive cards, except for one (Gigantic "Champion" Sargas). I really recommend this deck to players that want to play the game physically without spending a lot of money and to new players that want to learn the game. The deck price its around 35~ dollars, so pretty much affordable. This is a pretty difficult deck, but I will help you explaining the cards that I decided to put in and why I'm playing them, and showing you one of the best combos in the deck.
Card Explanation
Main Deck:
- Springans Rockey: First of all, I will explain an important thing for the monsters. All of them, Except Springans Kitt, have one effect that's the same for all of them. This effect allows the monster to attach itself to an Xyz "Springans" monster we control, from Field, Hand or Graveyard. Rockey is no exception. It has a second effect when it's summoned, that allows you to add a Springans Monster or a Great Sand Sea - Gold Golgonda (A key card in the deck) from the Graveyard to the hand. This is the most important main monster in the deck, both for combos and grind game.
- Springans Brothers: Very important for almost every combo of the deck, it's effect (Beside the attach effect) triggers when send to Hand or Deck to the Graveyard, and allows you to Special Summon another Springans monster for the Graveyard, except itself.
- Springans Kitt: This is the best Summon in the deck. She has 2 effect: The first one activates on Summon, and allows you to add a "Branded" card (We only play Branded in High Spirits) from deck to hand, and then sending a card from hand to deck (Attention: Adding back the card isn't cost, so if somebody activates Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring on the Kitt effect, you don't put a card back into the deck); While the second effect allows you to Special Summon her if you have a Fusion Monster that has "Fallen of Albaz" as material in your Graveyard. That's possible thanks to Branded in High Spirits, the card that we mentioned before.
- Springans Pedor: This is the worst Sprinangs monster in the archetype. You can tribute it to special summon another Springans monster in the Graveyard. It can be useful in the grind game, but it's not that great. We play it because because it's a level 4 (Normal Summonable at least) and it's an extra material for a Springans Xyz monster we control.
- Springans Branga: This is the searcher in the archetype. You can banish itself and another Springans monster from the Graveyard to add any Springans card from the deck. Very good in both combos and grind game, but meh in your opening hand.
- Springans Captain Sargas: An end board monster for the deck. It has 2 other effect, other than the attach one. The first one make a Springans Xyz monster that has Sargas as material gain 500 ATK, while the second can only be activated in your opponent's turn, and allows you to Detach a material from an Xyz monster we control to destroy an opponent card. Very good for the hand board, very bad in your opening hand.
- Aratama: The best normal summon in the deck. Thanks to him and Sakitama, you can special summon any rank 4 Xyz using just your normal summon.
- Sakitama: This is probably the best level 4 extender in the game right now, and thanks to Aratama it's even searchable. Very reccomended.
- Effect Veiler, Gadarla, the Mystery Dust Kaiju, Book of Moon: They are some pretty good budget staple. You can change them based on what kind of opponent you're facing or what you already have in your collection.
- Great Sand Sea - Gold Golgonda: The key card of the deck. It can start all kind of plays, allowing you to special summon a Springans monster from the Extra Deck by discarding one Springans monster. You always want this card in your hand, both going first and going second.
- Springans Booty: The best way to search the Field Spell. It has an okay secondary effect, but you will always use it for the search. (Attention: This card is not affected by Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, because it activates the Field spell directly from the Deck, and Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, because it send itself to Graveyard as cost)
- Springans Watch: A very busted card for the deck. Not only it's a searcher for the field spell, but if you already control the Field Spell, lets you add one Springans Monster from Deck to Hand and send on Springans monster from Deck to Graveyard. Basically a Reinforcement of the Army and a Foolish Burial for the archetype, all in one.
- Tally-ho! Springans: The strongest card in the deck. The effect of this card allows you to add one Springans monster from Deck to Hand, but, if you detached up to 3 materials from the Xyz monsters you control, you can special Springans monster from Hand and Graveyard based on the number of materials detached. This card is the reason why the deck can do a lot of shenanigans and crazy stuff.
- Spright Smashers: Basically a special summon of a Springans monster from the Deck, by banishing a Springans, Therion or Spright card from Hand or Graveyard. There are two other effect, but in this version of the deck they are useless or unusable. The only downside is the fact that this card is not a Springans card, but a Spright card, so it can't be searched.
- Branded in High Spirits: The only reason why we play Springans Kitt. Allows you to add another copy of Kitt by discarding a Machine monster and by sending one fusion monster that mention "Fallen of Albaz" as a material to Graveyard.
Extra Deck:
- Sprind the Irondash Dragon: Thanks to Branded in High Spirits, this card can be very useful. Not only is a target for that card, but, in the End Phase, it can be an add of a Springans monster from Deck to Hand or a Special Summon from deck.
- Springans Merrymaker: The combo starter in the deck. You can make it with the field spell too, and it's free material for Gigantic "Champion" Sargas.
- Springans Ship - Exblowrer: A very good destruction card. The very cool about this is card is the fact that this card doesn't target cards, but the zone they're in. Thanks to this, a lot of monster that can't be targetted will still be destroyed by this card.
- Gigantic "Champion" Sargas: This big boy can be summoned using one Xyz Springans monster you control. You can search a Springans or Therion card from Deck to Hand and it can destroy or return to hand a card on the field if a material of an Xyz monster is Detached. A pretty good combo piece and an End board monster for the deck.
- Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon: A way to out some big dudes your opponents control.
- Time Thief Redoer: An annoying card that can be very useful for its effect and because it can detach quick effect, basically a free destruction for Gigantic "Champion" Sargas.
- Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir: If you bricked hard and you have the resources to at least play one Rank 4 Xyz, summon this dude. A living floodgate that, in the good spot, can stall the game for enough time to let you get back in the game.
- Tornado Dragon: A living Mystical Space Typhoon, nothing else to say.
- Evilswarm Nightmare: Using 2 copies of Springans Kitt, you can summon this dude. Basically 2 Book of Moon in one card. Very good boss monster against a lot of combo decks.
- Abyss Dweller: Playing this against the right deck can completely stop the opponent. Always good.
- Knightmare Phoenix, Knightmare Cerberus: They are an ok option for removal, if you can't do Xyz summon for some reason.
- Borreload Dragon: It's an okay link 4, but it can be useful thanks to its effect to steal on opponent monster.
Combos
After explaining all the cards, you may be interested in some combos. In this budget version, the combos are not that powerful, because there are no very good Extra deck monster, but you can always do something at the moment. However, there's one combo that can help you, expecially if you're learning the deck.
Cards used for the combo: Springans Rockey, Great Sand Sea - Gold Golgonda, 3 random cards
Steps:
- Activate Great Sand Sea - Gold Golgonda
- Activate the effect of the card, sending Springans Rockey to Graveyard
- Special Summon Springans Merrymaker thanks to the Field Spell effect
- Effect of Springans Merrymaker on summon to send Springans Brothers from Deck to Graveyard
- Effect of both Springans Brothers and Springans Rockey to attach themselfs to Springans Merrymaker.
- Special Summon Gigantic "Champion" Sargas using Springans Merrymaker as material
- Effect of Gigantic "Champion" Sargas to add Tally-ho! Springans to hand
- Activate Tally-ho! Springans detaching 3 materials
- Search Springans Kitt and Special Summon Springans Kitt, Springans Rockey, Springans Brothers
- Important Step: Activate the effect of Springans Kitt and then the effect of Gigantic "Champion" Sargas, targetting your Field Spell
- Add back the Great Sand Sea - Gold Golgonda and add Branded in High Spirits. Then, because of Springans Kitt, you have to put a card back into the deck. If the other 3 cards in the hand are good, you put back the Field Spell. If one of the other 3 cards sucks, you can put it into the deck and let the Field Spell stay in the hand.
- Use Springans Rockey and Springans Brothers to make Gear Gigant X
- Activate its effect, detaching Springans Rockey, adding another Springans Brothers to hand
- Activate Branded in High Spirits, sending to Graveyard both Sprind the Irondash Dragon and Springans Brothers
- Add another Springans Kitt
- Activate the effect of Springans Brothers in the Graveyard, Special summoning Springans Rockey from the Graveyard
- Activate the effect of Springans Rockey, adding back Springans Brothers to hand
- Normal summon Springans Brothers
- Use Springans Brothers and Springans Rockey to Xyz summon a rank 4 xyz monster of your choice
- Special Summon Springans Kitt using its effect
- Use the 2 Springans Kitt to Special Summon Evilswarm Nightmare, or another rank 4 xyz of your choice
- End Phase
- Effect of Sprind the Irondash Dragon to Special Summon Springans Captain Sargas from the Deck
