- There are still a few problems,
1. Pure Builds end on 1.5 ED Skill Drain(s) a QE Change of Heart and one of Book of Moon/Mystical Space Typhoon/D.D. Crow this is less on-board interaction but they also play 8 more forms of in-hand interaction. This build ends on 1 Skill Drain, a QE Change of Heart, and a high probability of a S/T negate and 2 of BoM/MST/Crow which is 5 forms of in-hand interaction relative to 3.5. Here's the question:
Is 3.5 w/ +8 non-engine interaction better than 5 w/ 3 turn 0 total? this is relevant to the Diva and Neptabyss discussion.
2.Going Second, this deck cannot take too many hits or it will just fall apart, there is a world where you play a 'Shift' (?) side deck that just goes 1 Ultimaya Tzolkin, with either an Icejade package or Lv8 monster mash. That could be pretty interesting or you just hard side other going-second cards and remove the Lappis Dragon package to just go kind of a small package Atlantean. Guitar Gurnards Duonigis can still replace a Neptabyss, Poseidra Dragoons and you can still reach certain parts of your extra deck like Adamancipator Risen - Dragite and Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon.
Is the level of fragility a problem to the extent that warrants drastic changes in the Main and/or the building of a very specific side deck? Probably... This is along the lines of just playing Pure w/Miktanus and Slider or and Icejade side deck.
3. Longevity, Diva can still summon Ursarctic Polari or Tatsunoko if you have gone through your combo line, however, Neptabyss does absolutely nothing, we also aren't playing the Ursarctic cards that have longevity like Ursarctic Miktanus or Ursarctic Slider. The point of this deck was that it didn't matter if you drew Diva or Neptabyss, you still got your Poseidra + Coral Dragon resulting in +2 card advantage. The deck has now evolved to the point that Normal Summon Diva gets you to points in your ED which aren't necessary but are really important. Here's the question:
Should the Neptabyss ratios be reduced considering the density of Diva searchers? At this point, maybe, but you still have a very likely 4 points of interaction relative to 3.5.
4.The ED is more bloated than the main deck, you literally can't summon Deep Sea Repetiteur, if you activate Ice Barrier you can't summon Baronne de Fleur, Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, or Stardust Charge Warrior which means that you can't summon Adamancipator Crystal - Dragite either. This results in you summoning Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying which isn't horrible when combined with Ursarctic Megabilis but not as good as Dragite or Baronne. If you play a Gurnards build the ED deck is reduced by 3 cards, minus all 3 Lv6 Synchros and Tatsunoko, add Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon. Here's the question:
But what would you use the extra, Extra Deck space for? The mythical Visas Amritara build? Ultimaya Tzolkin to play a 'shift' Side Deck? More Toolbox like Icejade Gymir Aegirine or maybe even a Marincess Coral Anemone?
5. Is the deck only consistent under the condition that you are not playing any hand-traps? To be competitive you have to be able to play turn 0. Can the bloat of this deck not take the weight of additional cards that allow you to be competitive? This is probably the only problem that this deck may not be able to get around/ignore and that is very sad because I really like it and tried really hard to make this.
