Toon Striker — Midrange OTK Deck Guide
PLAYSTYLE
This is a Midrange OTK deck that builds strong half-boards on Turn 1 and closes games with powerful follow-up on subsequent turns. The Toon engine provides consistency and resilience, while the Sky Striker package supplies draw power, board-breaking tools, and flexible Extra Deck access.
Going second, the deck excels at clearing established boards with Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, Four Heavenly Dragons and multiple board breakers, pushing for lethal damage, and setting up disruptions if you cannot OTK.
STARTERS (16 ONE-CARD STARTERS)
This deck runs 16 one-card starters, giving you an exact 91.4% probability of opening at least one starter in a 5-card hand:
• Toon Table of Contents (3)
• Toon Bookmark (2)
• Toon World the Perfect World (3)
• Funny Dark Rabbit (3)
• Comic Cat (2)
• Rainbow Bridge Bifrost (2)
• Terraforming (1)
CORE CARD RATIOS
Monster:
• Evil Box (1) — Sets Toon Terror from deck; can be flickered for an extra attack during OTKs.
• Funny Dark Rabbit (3) — Starter.
• Dark-Eyes Illusionist Faceless Mage (1) — Places Mind Scan face-up.
• Comic Cat (2) — Starter.
• Droll & Lock Bird (2) — Oppressive floodgate handtrap that wins games.
• 0x Raye / Roze — Omitted because this deck uses the Striker package strictly as an engine via Linkage and Hornet Drones for draw power and board breaking; you will summon Amatsu with Linkage using Zero.
Spell:
• Toon Table of Contents (3) — Starter.
• Toon Bookmark (2) — Starter.
• Toon World the Perfect World (3) — Starter; dodges Impermanence-like handtraps and resets Funny Dark Rabbit against Ash.
• Rainbow Bridge Bifrost (2) — Starter; banishes Legatia and Chaos Angel.
• Terraforming (1) — Starter.
• Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage! (3) — Draw engine; loops with Linkage and Hornet Drones for card advantage.
• Sky Striker Mobilize - Linkage! (3) — Finds Engage; locks you into Sky Striker cards — be mindful of sequencing.
• Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones (1) — Finds Engage to start the Striker loop.
• Sky Striker Mecha - Widow Anchor (1) — Primary Engage payoff; one copy is sufficient in testing.
• The Fallen & The Virtuous (3) — Utility going both first and second, allows for grind game with Albion reset.
• Spatial Trunade (3) — Board-breaking; can also return your own Funny Dark Rabbit and Toon World for reuse and punishes turn 0 plays from opponent.
• Forbidden Droplet (3) — Board-breaking + good going 1st.
• Triple Tactics Talent (1) — Dual utility going 1st and 2nd: going 1st rips a card, going 2nd you can draw into board breakers or take a monster.
• Sky Striker Special Maneuver - Lemnisgate! (1) — Going 1st endboard and recursion.
Trap:
• Mind Scan (1) — Reveals the opponent's hand to improve your interruption sequencing; can function as a soft floodgate against cards that require revealing; name-call omni-negate.
• Toon Terror (1) — Omni-negate; set directly from deck via Evil Box.
EXTRA DECK BREAKDOWN
• Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, Four Heavenly Dragons (1) — Primary board-clear and OTK tool; destroys opponent's cards by targeting your own protected cards for additional pops.
• Chaos Angel (2) — Dual utility — serves as a Rainbow Bridge Bifrost target and as a Synchro target of Evil Box + Funny Dark Rabbit.
• Albion the Branded Dragon (2) — The Fallen & The Virtuous target.
• Evilswarm Ophion (1) — Floodgate; summoned off Dark Rebellion to lock opponents out of Level 5+ Special Summons.
• Centur-Ion Legatia (1) — Rainbow Bridge Bifrost target.
• Prototype Sky Striker Ace - Amatsu (1) — Endboard piece; summoned off Sky Striker Ace - Zero.
• Sky Striker Ace - Camellia (1) — Bridges into Sky Striker cards.
• Sky Striker Ace - Kagari (1) — Re-add used Engage.
• Sky Striker Ace - Kaina (1) — Link target to fill up Lemnisgate requirement.
• Sky Striker Ace - Zero (1) — Linkage target; searches Engage for Linkage.
• Swickelavee the Brilliantly Crowned Heavy Cavalry (1) — Summon on a used Comic Cat for an additional 2000 damage.
• Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder (1) — Board wipe; overlay onto any Xyz that battled, if you cannot kill the opponent.
• Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis (1) — For last resort plays.
GAME PLAN
Going First:
The standard endboard consists of:
• Comic Cat — Non-targeting tribute (Monster effect)
• Evil Box — 2× shuffle (Monster effect)
• Toon Terror — Omni-negate (Counter Trap)
• Mind Scan — Information advantage and omni-negate (Continuous Trap)
Alternative: Summon Evilswarm Ophion in place of Comic Cat to floodgate Level 5+ Special Summons instead.
If you have Striker cards, you can add Lemnisgate and Amatsu for a double non-targeting bounce and 2000+ ATK monster negate.
Going Second:
The deck shifts into board-breaking mode:
• Use Spatial Trunade and Forbidden Droplet to dismantle the opponent's board.
• Chain Toon Table of Contents searches to load 3+ spells into the GY, enabling Engage to draw additional cards.
• Clear remaining threats with Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, Four Heavenly Dragons and push for lethal.
• If you cannot OTK, you can set up a full endboard to try to OTK again.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Strengths:
• Handtrap resilience — Toon World the Perfect World dodges Impermanence-like handtraps and can reset Funny Dark Rabbit when hit by Ash Blossom. The deck plays through most disruption cleanly.
• Mind Scan — Reveals the opponent's hand, allowing you to sequence your interruptions optimally. Functions as a soft floodgate against decks that require revealing to activate an effect.
• Dark Rebellion OTKs — Clears established boards and enables lethal pushes; can also transition into Ophion to floodgate the opponent.
• 16 one-card starters — Extremely consistent opening hands.
• Follow-up — If the opponent breaks your board but doesn't OTK, the deck has enough resources to rebuild and threaten lethal on the following turn.
• Layered endboard — Toon Terror, Mind Scan, and Lemnisgate are Spell/Trap-based disruptions so it is hard for board breakers to hit both.
• Immune to Dark Ruler No More and Forbidden Droplet — You can flicker the monster to dodge/remove the negate.
Weaknesses:
• Anti-Search Effect (like Droll & Lock Bird) — The deck searches extensively; Anti-Search Effects are devastating. Prioritize getting Evil Box first if holding 2+ Toon cards to generate plays under Droll.
• FTKs — Limited interaction going second against decks that can kill before your first turn.
• Unaffected monsters — This deck has no innate outs to towers.
• Sphere Mode / Gordian Slicer — Tributes and bounces remove Toon World or your Toon monsters, turning off both Toon Terror and Mind Scan.
TIPS & TRICKS
• Linkage locks you into Sky Striker cards which will lock you out of Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, Four Heavenly Dragons. However, it is correct to Linkage first so you can find board breakers to win; you can OTK without Dark Rebellion.
• Swickelavee + Comic Cat — Summon Swickelavee onto a used Comic Cat for an extra 2000 damage. Relevant for reaching lethal thresholds.
• Flicker Evil Box — Flickering Evil Box grants an additional attack. Keep this in mind when calculating OTK damage.
• Evil Box + Funny Dark Rabbit = Chaos Angel — Rarely comes up but useful if you need a banish to win the game.
• Dark Rebellion pop targets — Use your own cards to fuel Dark Rebellion's destruction effect for additional board clears: a set Toon Terror (placed by Evil Box), Toon World (protected by Bookmark), or any Toon monster (target it, then flicker).
• Droll counterplay — If you have 2 or more Toon cards in hand, prioritize resolving Evil Box first. This allows you to have Evil Box + Toon Terror under Droll.
• Spatial Trunade can return your own Funny Dark Rabbit and Toon World to hand, allowing you to reuse their effects.
• Opponent's Mulcharmy Fuwalos — Pure Toon lines give 0 draws to opponent's Fuwalos (no Extra Deck summons required), ending safely on Comic Cat + Evil Box + Mind Scan + Toon Terror.
MATCHUPS (Work in Progress)
vs. Rolad Pile — Favorable. Dark Rebellion clears their board, and Ophion shuts down the Rolad loop by preventing Level 5+ Special Summons. The combination of board-clearing and floodgate access gives this deck a strong edge in the matchup.
SIDE DECK (Under Revision)
• Artifact Lancea (3) — Forces combo decks (Toon, Elfnote, Rolad Pile) to commit to weaker half-boards you can break.
• Mulcharmy Fuwalos (3) — Same role as Lancea — disrupts opponent's combos and forces incomplete boards.
• Mulcharmy Purulia (3) — Draw into answers, for when Fuwalos doesn't give draws.
• Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring (3) — General-purpose handtrap for going first.
• Solemn Accusation (3) — Going-first option (placeholder — under testing).
Going 1st you can side out Spatial Trunade for Ash Blossom, Lancea, or Solemn Accusation.
Do not side out Toon Terror going 2nd.
Side out Mind Scan and Lemnisgate going 2nd.
FLEXIBLE SLOTS & CUSTOMIZATION
Board breakers: Forbidden Droplet, Spatial Trunade, and The Fallen & The Virtuous can be replaced for something else based on your meta.
