The deck
The niche about this deck is to test the current viability of using tokens only and no monsters.
There have been lots of new releases related to token and token support, enough to actually build a specialised deck.
The question of course: "is it viable?", well that's up to the deck and the people wielding and improving the deck.
At the moment this
token only deck or (T.O.D) for short is more of a
control deck than anything else. It has lots of monster effect negation and card destruction. It does really well
going first with this deck.
There is a new card called "Parasomnia Pillow" that has not been widely released yet, but is available in it's Japanese form which can be played on
dueling nexus for the time being as a pre-release. I do believe the equip card has potential to boost the performance of this deck and is great to use on your opponent's monsters.
Parasomnia Pillow effect:
During the End Phase: You can destroy the equipped monster. If this card is sent to the GY because the equipped monster was destroyed and sent to the GY: Special Summon 1 "Parasomnia Token" (Level 1/ATK ?/DEF 0) with the equipped monster's original Type, Attribute, and ATK, then equip this card to that Token. You can only use each effect of "Parasomnia Pillow" once per turn.
Strategy
It's always good to have "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" on the field. When summoning any tokens you can then add any "Phantasm Spiral" trap card to your hand, of which is immediately playable.
I do believe a lot of people are already aware of the "Brave engine" and how good it is, which does make this deck shine really well. The "Brave engine's" equip spell "Dracoback, the Rideable Dragon" can be used on any token and bounce big extra deck monsters back into the extra deck.
Effect rulings on tokens are also slightly different on tokens than on monsters, since they don't go to the GY or can be banished, some effects cannot be used on tokens, for example "Eater of million's" effect. You may want to brush up on effect rulings for tokens.
This is by no means a meta deck, but is pretty decent.
Hope you have fun!
