ARCHETYPES AND DECKBUILDING
Four archetypes come together in this deck to form TPS.
The PUNK cards are mainly to turbo out Chaos Ruler. Ze Amin + Deer Note make Chaos Ruler, while Deer Note revives a level 3/8 punk from the GY for further Synchro/XYZ plays.
The Spright cards add extra negation and extension on-board. Spright Elf can also re-summon Assault Synchron from GY, allowing you to make another level 10 synchro with it, or go further into your Spright combo since its a level 2.
The Thunder Dragon cards turbo out Colossus in this deck, a game winning force to reckon with all on it's own. Thunder Dragon cards mesh well when banished and milled by Chaos Ruler. Also in a pinch, the Dragondark (level 5) + Ze Amin (level 3) create either Chaos Ruler or Accel Synchro Stardust. A cool interaction that Thunder Dragons have with Spright is that if you use a Thunder Dragon's effect in the hand, it fulfills the condition for one of your Sprights on board to turn into Thunder Dragon Colossus since they are also Thunder monsters!
The last archetype in this deck are the Synchrons. Assault Synchron is the heart and soul of the deck, and seeing this card (either by drawing it, Tuning or milling it) is integral to the strategy. Assault Synchron is the main way the duelist makes Cupid Pitch and multiple level 10 Synchro monsters.
Despite the four archetypes in this deck, TPS has room for 12 generic cards! I opted to use anti-Tear cards in this strategy, playing 3 D.D. Crow and 1 Ghost Belle. Going-second cards like Evenly Matched, Triple Tactics Talent and Nibiru help even out the game state so you can start comboing off.
COMBOS AND GAMEPLAN
The strategy of TPS is to simply summon powerful boss monsters and defeat your opponent. Baronne, Chengying, Colossus and Avramax are all heavy hitters that end games pretty fast. The hard part is comboing to get to your boss monsters! This deck isn't linear, and the combos/endboard vary greatly depending on what cards you draw and mill in your strategy.
Basically, you turbo out Chaos Ruler either by using Punk cards, or through Spright + Assault Synchron and you go from there. Depending on your mills, you get endboards of differing strength, but generally they have 1-2 level 10 synchros, Colossus, I:P Masquerena and Spright Elf with a packed GY of targets.
Here are the combos of this deck to summon Chaos Ruler:
Assault Synchron + Spright Blue = Chaos Ruler + search for Ze Amin/Caligo Crow
- Special Summon Assault Synchron with it's own effect.
- Special Summon Spright Blue. Search Spright Jet.
- Special Summon Spright Jet. Search Spright Starter.
- Synchro summon Cupid Pitch using Spright Blue + Assault Synchron. Increase Cupid Pitch's level to 6.
- Synchro summon Chaos Ruler using Cupid Pitch + Spright Jet.
- CL1 Chaos Ruler to mill 5 cards, CL2 Cupid Pitch to search for either Ze Amin (PUNK combo) or Caligo Claw Crow (Level 2 extender for Spright plays). This was done without your normal summon!
PUNK Ze Amin = Chaos Ruler + Level 3 tuner/level 8 on board
- Normal/Special summon Ze Amin.
- Activate Ze Amin’s search effect to get Foxy Tune from deck.
- Activate Foxy Tune from hand and discard a card to summon Deer Note from deck.
- Synchro summon Chaos Ruler using Ze Amin + Deer Note.
- CL1 Chaos Ruler to mill 5 cards, CL2 Deer Note to resurrect Ze Amin (If you want to make a rank 8 XYZ monster, resurrect Foxy Tune instead).
When banishing cards in your GY with Chaos Ruler, it is ideal to banish Thunder Dragon cards so you can eventually create Thunder Dragon Colossus.
To learn all the nuances of this deck, you will have to keep experimenting with the combos. There lack of linear combo lines in this deck make it difficult to create a guide for it, since not once simple combo exists due to the randomness of mills and the first hand.
After all your combos, you should have a mix of level 10 synchros, Colossus, I:P Masquerena and Spright Elf with Spright Red/Carrot!
