Symphonic Warriors are a mostly forgotten archetype that were first released in 2017 as a part of Raging Tempest. Originally, the archetype was unplayable as a standalone deck as they lacked the appriopriate cards to function by themselves. The most play they saw was being used an engine with Guitaar and Miccs. I personally used to run them in a Clownblade deck with the Star Seraphone engine back then.
In 2022, however; they received support cards in Dimension Force. These new cards completely changed the deck and allowed them to not only be playable as a standalone deck, but could actually make fairly decent end boards. Since then, although the archetype has continued to remain largely unknown or forgotten, Symphonic Warriors have only become stronger thanks to cards such as Barrone De Fleur and the Therion cards.
But as fun and powerful as Symphonic Warriors can be, they suffer from two primary weaknesses. Firstly, they have very limited starting combos, heavily relying on opening Synthess along with DJJ. Because of that, cards such as Scrap Golem and Crystron Rosenix were added to allow Scrap Recycler to become a one card combo in cases of extremely unplayable hands. Of course, the end board will be nothing great but still better than nothing. Those two cards also do not negatively affect your hands that much, so drawing them isn't too much of a problem as they can be pendulum summoned or used as discard fodder for Guitaar.
The other weakness is consistency. Because they already suffer from a limited amount of starting combos, Symphonic Warriors practically live or die on being able to access them. Unfortunately, they do not have their own search card, hence why Small World and Ignknight Reload are needed. Upstart Goblin can be replaced but still benefits consistency.
As for other details? The reason why the Therion cards are not played at maximum copies is because of the end boards Symphonic Warriors can create. They, alone, are able to create boards with 4-5 negates. Thus, the Therion cards are not always necessary but still add to the end boards nonetheless. And the reason for Planet Finder is because of opening hands with cards that would normally be searched during combos. So, it was chosen to be added as an additional target by Gear Gigant X, which then will be pendulum summoned and used to search the Therion field spell.
Symphonic Warriors are a fun but frustating deck to play. They can create strong boards, however; they suffer from many weaknesses such as consistency, linear combos, and struggling to go second. Although they aren't able to compete with the meta, they're still great for casual tournaments or for some simple, plain fun.
