Guru control is all about controlling the pace of the game and not allowing your opponent to build a huge board. Once the opponent does build a big board it's VERY difficult for Subterror to beat it without side decks cards. It's important to keep Guru and The Hidden City on the field to keep your control of the game and search out your Subterror cards. The deck doesn't really use the extra deck, for this reason it's quite easy to get away with extravagance and get the easy draw power.
