Perhaps the most prominent of the three Egyptian God cards due to its role as Yugi's God Card plus the name of Jaden's academy dorm, you wouldn't know it in the Battle City Box as both Obelisk the Tormentor and The Winged Dragon of Ra got search-based skills, while Slifer the Sky Dragon did not. Now, while Slifer managed to receive a powerful skill card in itself, the issue is summoning a 3-tribute monster normally to be able to use it. As the monster itself is not searchable, the deck is required to run 3 copies of Slifer itself. This deck then aims to bring it out through the use of multiple engines; Ratbox, Apprentice Magician and Trap Monsters. The former two attempt to survive through their self-replacing effects following the Giant Rat x3 → Zombina → Giant Rat (or Wall of Illusion) pipeline or the Apprentice Magician x3 → Magical Undertaker → Apprentice Magician → Old Vindictive Magician pipeline respectively. The trap monsters included are Zoma the Spirit and Metal Reflect Slime; one deals burn damage to the opponent while the other has 3000 DEF, so they're the least likely to get attacked. In circumstances where you do enter battle, Waboku can prevent your monsters from being destroyed by battles that turn. Finally, when you control 3 monsters, they can be tributed for Slifer, and you can then draw up to four cards with the Fury of Thunder skill, raising Slifer's ATK to 4000, hopefully being enough to win from there - unless your opponent has any form of monster removal. And if they do, well, maybe you can win by stalling them out?
