Sartorius Anime Deck

A deck constructed under a (Kind of arbitrary) ruleset. Any card used by the character is fair game, as well as any card printed before the pendulum era (I chose this cutoff to expand character card options). Synchro and XYZ monsters cannot be included for characters before the 5ds era. Cards were selected based on how well I thought they fit the character. I tried to make the deck largely singleton, as running many 3-ofs feels against the spirit of the anime. I only included multiples if I felt they were very important for the deck's gameplan, or if the character is shown using multiples in the anime. Decks follow the traditional format, so nothing is banned, but banned cards are limited to one copy per deck. I also avoided including FTK enabling combos whenever possible as this makes games generally unfun, so banned options are mostly powerful staples. I wanted this deck to feel sort of like a "Preconstructed" deck you might buy at a store and play with a friend in casual duels, and the power level is meant to reflect that philosophy, a compromise between playability and accuracy. I should also mention that if a card has received a power-level errata, I am playing the cards with their original, unnerfed effects. This is relevant for cards like Sangan and Witch of the Black Forest.

As for this Sartorius/Saiou deck, I should mention that several of the powerful modern Arcana Force cards are excluded due to them not being within my aforementioned criteria. Modern support can only be included if it was used in the anime or was released before the pendulum era (at which point its not exactly "modern", anyway). So no cards like Arcana Reading or Light Force. As for the Arcana Force cards that are included, I focused on the ones that I considered the most playable. Arcana Force EX - The Dark Ruler and Arcana Force EX - The Light Ruler are the deck's boss monsters, tough to summon but very powerful if you can pull it off. Arcana Force XXI - The World is a card that can skip an opponent's turn, and Arcana Force XV - The Fiend and Arcana Force XIV - Temperance have useful effects that don't require coin tosses. Arcana Force VII - The Chariot is a solid beater, and Arcana Force IV - The Emperor can buff your board. Arcana Force III - The Empress can give you extra summons, and Arcana Force 0 - The Fool is a good stall tool with its battle indestructibility (Make sure to set it face-down, if you normal summon it it'll be stuck in attack position).

Light Barrier is important for your monsters to gain their beneficial effects, and Reversal of Fate also helps with this strategy. Light Barrier is at two since the deck has Terraforming and Arcana Force XV - The Fiend to search it out, so I didn't think three was needed. As for the deck's other monsters, I largely capitialized on the fact that the Arcana Force monsters are all LIGHT Fairies (Even the one based on the Devil, funnily enough). Guardian of Order and Ghost Ship are easy special summons in the deck with decent stats, Shining Angel , Nova Summoner , and Gellenduo also help with getting out fodder for the deck's tribute summons. Honest is good generic LIGHT support, and Hoshiningen and Freya, Spirit of Victory are meant to act as buffers for the deck, since many of the lower-level monsters have low ATK. Cyber Jar , Sangan , and Witch of the Black Forest are generic staple monsters.

For the spells and traps, Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen , Luminous Spark , and Photon Lead are generic Light/Fairy support. Second Coin Toss is to help mitigate the negative effects of the Arcana Force monsters. The other spells are generic, strong staples. The trap selection is also largely generic good cards, with only Reversal of Fate being Saiou-specific. I should also note the lack of Arcana Force XII - The Hangman. This card has not been released in english at the time of the deck's creation, but it will be added as soon as it releases in the Tcg!

This deck may be subject to changes in the future, and I'll update the description accordingly. I enjoy playtesting anime decks with friends and by myself, and I use the duel results to modify the lists accordingly. I hope you enjoy the list!
