Highly versatile Zombie deck that has many ways to come back and scale down enemy boards.
It's been able to beat some Snake-Eyes, Yummi and Sky Striker decks, getting Top 3 in locals.
For first turn you may want to bring out Zombie World and Doomking Balerdroch or Skeletal Dragon Felgrand with a monster that can trigger an effect at will like Officiator of Doom Samuel, Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord or Necroworld Banshee in the Graveyard. This can trigger Balerdroch's second effect and banish at will any monster from the opponent or Felgrand's negation effect.
# Safety mechanisms you want to have
For your opponent's turn you don't need much preparation to defend your board. It mostly centers on stopping their plays and if they destroy any of your pieces, no worries, as you can recover next turn pretty easily. You can expect to loose some LP at the end of your opponent's turn at the worst with really good decks:
- Alghoul Mazera ready on hand or graveyard for **destruction protection**.
- Vampire Fraulein on hand for **battle protection**.
- A way to suddenly special summon Stare of the Snake Hair (Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord, Officiator of Doom Samuel, Call of the Haunted...) for effect **negation**.
- Doomking Balerdroch on field for effect **negation**.
- Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi can **negate** face-up monster effects and reduce their ATK to 0 after GY effects or special summons from the GY are activated/done.
- Officiator of Doom Samuel can revive a Zombie monster from the GY and **negate** the effects of a monster with less ATK.
- Skeletal Dragon Felgrand you can **negate** a monster's effects for a turn after a monster is revived from the GY.
# Board destruction
There's a bunch of ways to start tearing apart your opponent's board, many of these require targeting but they mostly banish. They also can target GY monsters:
- Doomking Balerdroch **banishes** as quick effect to any zombie activated effect.
- Vampire Sucker through Zombie World you can **Tribute Summon** any of your many +5 level monsters **using your opponent monsters**.
- A way to suddenly special summon Greal Mammoth of the Netherworld for card **destruction**.
- Vampire Fascinator can sacrifice herself or another Vampire to **take control of an opponent monster** for a turn.
- Dhampir Vampire Sheridan can **send a monster to the GY** and then revive it to your field.
- By Summoning Skeletal Dragon Felgrand you can **banish** a monster from your opponent's field or GY.
- Pumpking The Great Ghost King can remove a material to send 2 cards on field to hand.
# Generating resources on your hand or field
You have MANY options to get monsters to your hand or the field, which is necessary for Extra-Deck summoning:
- Vampire Fraulein can special summon herself during a battle step involving a zombie monster.
- If you Normal Summon Vampire Voivode, you can revive 2 of your opponent monsters to your field.
- Glow-up Bloom can give you a level 5+ zombie monster from your deck to your hand, and if you have Zombie World on the field, it can be special summoned.
- Alghoul Mazera can revive itself after an attempted destruction of one of your Zombie monsters. It banishes itself and then it revives. You can even banish it yourself for self revival with Changshi the Spiridao or Curse of the Ancient Turtle.
- Doomking Balerdroch just revives itself from GY in every Standby Phase (yours and your opponent's) if there's a field card face-up in any of the fields. Ready to protect.
- Vulcarrion the Rotting Phoenix is amazing for extending. As a first effect, if you have a zombie on field it can special summon itself. Being a Tuner, you can do some Synchro summons thanks to it. As a second effect, you can return it to hand from field and special summon any zombie from your hand.
- Mad Mauler can revive itself from GY if you reduce 2 levels from a face-up zombie monster with level 6+.
- Changshi the Spiridao can revive herself from banishment when sent there if you banish another zombie from grave.
- Gozuki, when sent to the grave, can summon a zombie from your hand if you banish another Zombie from your GY. There's a cool synergy with a GY Chanshi the Spiridao where Gozuki sends Changshi to banish and then Changshi can revive herself by banishing Gozuki or any other Zombie from grave.
- Hublot, Shadow of the Dark Directories, apart from being a level 6 that can normal summon himself without sacrificing, when summoned it can send a level 6+ zombie from the deck to the GY and then you CAN get any level 6+ zombie from the grave to your hand. This guy is amazing fro starting a combo with Pumpking the King of Grave Ghosts.
- Mezuki can banish itself to revive any zombie from grave. You can send him to grave with any of the "Foolish Burial" Zombies.
- Pumpking the King of Grave Ghosts can send itself from hand to GY to set and be able to activate a Call of The Haunted form Deck. Then use COTH to summon any monster from GY. You normally want to revive Pumpkin again to activate its second effect, where you can summon any level 6 zombie monster (not being 1950 ATK). Which then can be used to normally XYZ summon any of your great zombie XYZ monsters.
- Curse of The Ancient Turtle can banish any zombie from field or hand to send a Zombie from Deck to GY. This can trigger the effect of Changshi if banished netting you a good combo and almost 0 resources lost. Curse can also summon any 2000 DEF or less zombie monster from Deck if, being in the GY, a Zombie monster is destroyed.
- Monster Reborn, Premature Burial and Call of The Haunted revives a monster.
- There's a great and OG synergy with Premature Burial and Pumpking The Great Ghost King where you can use one of your 2 selected cards to send to hand to send Burial back to your hand to use it again.
- Salamangreat Almiraj can be summoned by sacrificing Glow-up Bulb and activating its effect on grave.
- Vampire Sucker can revive an opponent monster on their side of the field and through her effect you can sacrifice zombie monsters from either side of the field for a Tribute summon.
- Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy can revive a dark monster from the opponent's GY to your side of the field (to any of the positions he points to, actually)
- Vampire Fascinator, on summon, can revive an opponent's monster to your side of the field
- Officiator of Doom Samuel can revive any of your zombies at the cost of 1 material.
- Wollow, Founder of the Drudge Dragons can revive an opponent monster to your filed at the cost of 2 materials. (Or you can set a card from your opponent's GY)
- Dhampir Vampire Sheridan can revive an opponent monster to your field after a monster destruction. (Be mindful of Glow-Up Bloom's Zombie lock before hand)
- The Zombie Vampire can send the top 4 cards from each of the decks to the GY and revive any monster that was sent there.
- Immortal Dragon can revive itself from grave after one of your zombies is destroyed by battle.
- Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord can revive one of your GY monsters as a Quick Effect during your opponent's turn.
- Flying Mary, The Wandering Ghost Ship can bring back a LV5+ Zombie from banishment or GY and destroy an opponent monster that has less attack than a selected Zombie in your field.
# Getting stuff to the GY.
MANY of your loops start by sending cards to the GY like Glow-up Bloom, Necroworld Banshee, Alghoul Mazera, Doomking Balerdroch, Mad Mauler, Eldlich The Golden Lord, Gozuki, Mezuki, Stare of the Snake Hair, Wandering Titan Of Tartarus, etc. Having shit in your graveyard is your fuel. So here's a list of IDEAL starting card so you can start your motor:
- Uni-Zombie
- Gozuki
- Curse of the Ancient Turtle
- Immortal Dragon
- Changshi the Spiridao
# OTKs
The main ways to OTK through this deck involve having a final board with Wollow, Founder of the Drudge Dragons, The Zombie Vampire, Doomking Balerdroch, and Red-Eyes Zombie Dragon Lord and Vampire Fascinator. In a couple of turns it's possible to arrive to a variation of this endboard. Thanks to the effect of Wollow, Founder of the Drudge Dragons, all monsters in your field gain 100 ATK for every card in your opponent's GY. This coupled with the effect of The Zombie Vampire which adds 4 more. Add to this the possibility of getting resources on your field thanks to The Zombie Vampire and Vampire Fascinator's effect and making more Extra Deck summons, it's more than feasible to end the duel in 2 or 3 of your turns.
# Main Combos
**Turn 1**
Zombie World on field thanks to dumping Banshee to GY and activating her effect.
Dump Glow-up to GY => Get Balerdroch to field
Dump Glow-up to GY => Get Pumpkin to hand or field and activate his effect.
Extras: Get any of your *Safety mechanisms* ready through any means you can
**Turn 2+**
Get access to Pumpkin to hand => Activate Pumpkin, dump Pumpkin and use Call of the Haunted to revive Pumpkin => Pumpkin searches and summons Changshi => Changshi dumps Mad Mauler to GY => XYZ summon Samuel => Use Samuel's effect to dump Changshi to GY and revive here => Activate Mauler's effect to revive and drop 2 levels from Changshi => Synchro summon Immortal Dragon => Sump Gozuki to GY and activate it's effect banishing Changshi to summon a zombie from hand => Changshi can banish Gozuki, Mauler or any other zombie from grave to revive herself => Do whatever you want with Changshi and the newly special summoned Zombie from hand and Immortal Dragon.
From Changshi / Immortal Dragon => you can also send Eldlich to grave and dump your Call of the Haunted from field to GY to special summon him with 1000 extra ATK points.
From Changshi / Immortal Dragon => you can also send Mezuki to GY and revive any zombie you need.
If you have spare monsters already you can Link summon Dharc, revive a Dark opponent monster and summon Fascinator
From Fascinator you can revive an opponent monster => Link Summon Yuki-Onna
From Fascinator => If you already have a LV8 zombie you can XYZ that and the revived monster to summon The Zombie Vampire => activate effect and dump 4 cards from each deck and revive one of the candidates (Here maybe you can trigger a GY effect already) => With the extra body you can attack or extend more summons.
# Conclusion
This is a deck with many branching options and easy access to many kinds of effects to deal with a lot of situations.
Through testing I've seen bricking possibility is kinda low, so it's great as rogue deck material in tournaments.
Anyways. HAVE FUN!
# Alternate cards to use in the deck (look at Side Deck and Watchlist)
- By summoning Vampire Scarlet Scourge you can special summon from GY any Vampire monster (Vampire Voivode, Vampire Fraulein, Vampire Sucker, Vampire Fascinator or The Zombie Vampire) ------- In the end, after much testing, I concluded having 2 Changshis was a better combo extender than having just one, and I never found myself looking for Scarlet actively.
- Wandering Titan of Tartarus through its first effect, if you send it to the graveyard from the Deck, you can, at the cost of your own field cards, **send as many of your opponent cards to the GY**. This is mostly as a last resort, but the possibility is there. ----- It's been moved to Side Deck to deal with BIG hard to break boards and force the opponent to reset their plays. Normally you don't want to do this, but if you have knowledge of big bottle necks to deal with big unbreakable synergies, add it on 2nd game of match and manage.
