Fiendsmith Sacred Beasts
is pretty fun to play and can put up a decent endboard going first.
General Discussion:
-I play 42 cards, but it is possible to cut 1 fieldspell and a handtrap.
-The second fieldspell comes up for me so often though that i feel like it is worth it. Plus it gives you lines around handtraps if you draw one.
-I like the handtrap lineup since you have 4 different ones to draw into from fuwalos and the variety works well with crossout.
-I dont play card of the soul since with the fiendsmith bridge, either engraver or tract is a 1 (1.5) card starter, giving you 13 one card starters to play with.
-Phara works crazy with the deck but be carefull, her graveyard effect only triggers using Sacred Beast Release´s discard (or FS tract)
Deck can bridge into both engines from one another.
Fiendsmith into Sacred Beast:
Go for regular fiendsmith combo, but hold your normal summon for one of the handtrap monsters. Instead of fusing lacrima and engraver fuse lacrima and your normal summoned handtrap into Aerial Eater. Then use AE to get Raviel into grave, followed by using your extra engraver and AE to go into constellar who retrieves Raviel for full sacred beast combo.
Sacred Beast into Fiendsmith:
When you get to the sacred beast combo point where you have 3 martyrs on board summon reprodocus with 2 of them in the extra deck zone above the remaining one. Then change the attribute to light to go into Requiem for lacrima ......
Note that bridging either way is going to cost u quiet a bit of endboard power. Usually it is worth to do though since from only FS you can only get either Ceasar or Desirea vs the Sacred beast endboard with thunder dragon, varudras and the trap setup. The other way around you "only" loose out on either varudras or the trap setup for a potential Ceasar or Desirea.
General Combos:
The 1 Card Starters Work in the order of: Raviel->Hamon->Sacred Beast Released->Add: Martyr, Summoner and Uria->Discard Martyr, Summoner
This allows you to always go for the banish effect of summoner and targert martyr. With this u keep your normal summon for any Fiendsmith cards or any extenders u need.
Note that the discard depends heavily on your hand. For example, going second, using phara to protect Sacred Beast Released and then discard phara instead of summoner (if you have another sacred beast in hand) to get the graveyard effect of phara is an insane play into a board.
Since we play Thunder Dragon Coloss, we want to use either Hamon or Summoners handeffect once per combo because this is the only way to access him.
When special summoning Martyr, using its effect to get the spell can be tricky if you have one in hand. Be carefull since the effect to set the other 2 copies only works when u set exactly 2. Avoid the situation where you set 1 from hand, then set 1 from deck with his effect since you cut yourself off of the effect of Thunderclap this way. Usually if you have 1 in hand it is better to just set the fieldspell from deck instead to avoid this mistake and give you protection of any annyoing interuptions. (Thats why i play 2 fielspells)
From there your play is very dependent on your hand and enemy interuptions.
Usually you want to use the fieldspells effect, get the summoner from your banishment (Note that you can only use the draw 2 effect of the fieldspell with the lvl 10 sacred beasts). Then get the 3 martyrs on board. Go into more Sacred Beasts to go into varudras. U can use the summoners onfield effect to get one more sacred beast on field. This allows you to have a onfield omni in the trap that is searched with uria.
The general endboard consists of the following:
Varudras, Thunder Dragon Coloss, High Wave King Ceasar/Desirea, 1 Sacred Beast, the trap (summoning the uria to quick effect destroy a spell on baord) that negates and destroys 1 card on the field + any handtrap you draw into with the fieldspell
This gives you 1x Omni, 1 Floodgate, 2xSpecial Summon negates, 1 onfield negate+destroy, 1 spell destroy + draw 2
Strenghts and Weaknesses:
Positives:
-The endboard isnt the best , but with the graveyard recursion of Martyr and Thunderclap plus Fiendsmith you can outgrind most decks to win. Killing/OTK´ing after playing through a board usually isnt too hard since all your monsters are giant and if you get to use Raviels onfield effect he sometimes is alone.
-Easy and fairly cheap to play
-Discard effects make most hands salvagable
-Extra Deck is flexible with 1 optional Coloss, Anima and Necroquip Princess.
-Sidedeck is also flexible, but relies quiet a bit on going second cards since the sacred beast portion of the deck is volatile
-People tend to underestimate how good the fiendsmith cards are still
-The deck plays very well into Purrulia
Negatives:
-The deck is very weak to handtraps if used on the sacred beast part of the deck:
-If someone knows the variant you play, the will try to kill you on either searches, drolling you instantly, or destroying the fieldspell
-If you start with the fiendsmith engine to bait out handtraps, they will do the ABOVE on your sacred beast cards guaranteed.
(Note: Most people are currently on breakers and the mulcharmies so you tend to fair fairly well going first)
-Since you only setup 1 Omninegate and 1 Onfield Omninegate you have to value the 2 accordingly to protect against breakers
-Lava Golemn or Sphere Mode can be an insta loss if they hit both varudras and the sole Sacred beast to deactivate the trap (Requiers a lot of deckknowledge, if the have it, you usually loose anyways:D)
-Droll is a bit of an overkill card when going first since the pretty much guaranteed Thunder dragon coloss does the job anyways
