This Runick build (given the name 'Nightmare" because it can be a nightmare to pilot at first) focuses on building good Synchro boards, all the while milling Runick quick-play spells to send back into the deck to draw loads.
The Fabled tuners allow you to capitalise off of the discard costs of Hugin to search Fountain, turning it into a +1. The milling from Charge & Raiden means that you only have to activate 1 Runick Quick-Play spell to draw 3 cards. Even better with Tip as it's like Engage on steroids (search 1 and draw 3). If you mill a copy of Fountain you can use Geri to recycle it and go straight into Chaos Ruler without paying any cost on the way. Chaos ruler with The Fabled engine can often lead to getting both tuners out in one go, allowing you to go into Baronne and Chengying via Chaos Ruler's revive before you've even started using your draw engine. You can easily end on 4 interruptions even through hand traps, and if not, it's possible to end on 8 interruptions. What makes this even better is that as you synchro summon, you fix one of the biggest issues with the deck by clearing the EMZ for more Runick monsters to be summoned. Soon, you'll forget a time when hard once-per-turns were a thing.
Instant fusion is a fantastic tech here and allows you to play through hand traps as you can summon a Runick monster without clogging the EMZ. Even better interaction with Freki when it comes out. Card Destruction is optional however it can be useful in this Runick build because of The Fabled cards. Can be used to close out some games too. But you may want to change this tech for the current meta (looking at you, Tearalements).
Don't run more than 1 Golden Droplet. It's like giving your opponent a Desires that is also a delinquent duo for the cost of banishing 4 face-up. Idk why they printed it as a super...
I didn't create this strategy but I did refine the ratios to what I believe to be ideal. Thank you loads to the Runick discord community for helping me make this deck. They're making an in-depth Runick guide for every strategy when the deck gets released in the TCG.
