This deck takes advantage of the natural synergy between Black Metal Dragon, Blaze, and the Diabellstar engine to build a strong board of powerful synchros and Flare Metal Dragons. There is a lot of room for optimization, particularly with the choice of Synchros, but it's a good start at the very least. Generally, your endboards should result in 2 Flare Metals + a Hieratic Seal/Synchro, 1 Flare Metal + a Hieratic Seal/2 Synchros, or a Hieratic Seal and 2 Synchros.
The Diabellstar engine in conjunction with the Resonator engine allows the deck to play through at least one or two hand traps or set up a board before using the normal summon with the right hand, and also gives the deck some additional draw power and consistency. That being said, if your opening hand only contains Resonators or Carboneddon and you do not have Foolish Burial or a Dragon Ravine, you can have a rough time.
Despite not being a synchro based archetype and not even having an archetypal tuner, I've found that Red-Eyes decks tend to be much more effective when they cut the fusions and focus more on Synchros. The Synchro engine here is less intrusive than fusion engines while still advancing your gameplay, and most Red-Eyes monsters don't have graveyard effects to take advantage of with fusion spells anyway.
