Finally, a deck that's one I love and that can actually beat some of the top decks (if you play really well)
That's right, its QLIPHORT TIME, BABY!
Explanation of the cards - this one's not as big as my last few guides
==The Boss Monsters==
Apoqliphort Towers
Yeah, you know the one. This card was banned for a long time, and for good reason. Despite needing not being able to be Special Summoned and needing 3 "Qli" tributes to Normal Summon or Set it, this card is crazy. It's unaffected by all activated monster effects from monsters that are level 9 or lower, and is immune to all Spell/Trap effects (keep in mind that if Skill Drain is face-up and you summon this, then Skill Drain does negate Tower's effects - but if Skill Drain is flipped after Towers is summoned then it does not affect Towers). Being able to possibly force your opponent to get rid of a card in their hand is also amazing (but this only is for monsters, and can activate Tearlament GY effects, so be careful of that). This and Skybase are literally the best walls in the deck against Runick - they will have no way of outing this without a kaiju or by battling it. Speaking of Skybase...
Apoqliphort Skybase
Same as Towers, but one level lower (Cannot be Special Summoned, 3 "Qli" tributes needed to Normal Summon/Set, unaffected by activated effects of monsters level 8 or lower, and mmune to all Spell/Trap effects [same thing with Skill Drain applies here]). The differece is, it lets you target and steal a monster your opponent controls until the end phase. Overall, just as good as Towers.
The Pendulum Monsters
Qliphort Scout
The best card in the deck - searchable with Summoner's Art (of which it can only add Scout or Monolith in this deck). Despite having no monster effect, the Pendulum effect is what makes this card amazing. For the simple cost of 800 LP, you can add any "Qli" card from your deck to your hand. Even better - this isnt a hard once per turn effect (meaning you can abuse this with Trampolynx). Being unable to Special Summon monsters except "Qli" monsters really isn't an issue in this deck, as you dont need the Extra Deck, except for Qliphort Genius (but that's a "Qli" card).
Qliphort Monolith
Searchable with Summoner's Art, but has no monster effect, like Scout. However, this card can literally let you draw 3 in the EP (if you tribute 3 "Qli" monsters while it's in your Pendulum Zone - this is done with Towers or Skybase). Prioritise getting Scout over this card.
Qliphort Helix / Qliphort Carrier
These have basically the same effects - you can Normal Summon without tributing, but the level will become 4, and the original ATK becomes 1800. Difference is, if Helix is tributed, you can destroy a Spell/Trap on the field, and if Carrier is tributed, you can destroy a monster. The Pendulum effects just prevent you from Special Summoning anything that's not a "Qli" monster and either give all your "Qli" monsters 300 extra ATK or make all your opponent's monsters on the field lose 300 ATK). These cards are also unaffected by monster effects from monsters whose level/rank is lower than its current level if they are Normal Summoned/Set If Skill Drain affects these cards, their levels will go back to 8 and their ATK will go back to 2400 - as their effect which causes the changes is negated.
Qliphort Stealth, Disk, and Shell
Same effect as Carrier and Helix (can Normal Summon with tributing, but makes them level 4, original ATK 1800), but they also have unique effects that happen only when they are Tribute Summoned by tributing a "Qli" monster(s).
Stealth - You can target a card on the field and return it to the hand (this effect cannot be responded to by your opponent)
Shell - Can make a second attack in each Battle Phase and does piercing battle dmg if it attacks a monster in defense position
Disk - You can Special Summon 2 "Qli" monsters from your deck but destroy them during the end phase (this is the best one in my opinion)
Shell's Pendulum effect causes all monsters your opponent controls to lose 300 ATK, whereas Stealth and Disk give your "Qli" monsters on the field 300 extra ATK.
Performapal Trampolynx
"Oh my god, trampolynx, trampolynx" - Farfa
Anyways, Trampolynx's Pendulum effect lets you return a card in your Pendulum Zone to your hand when you Pendulum Summon. This is best used to return Qliphort Scout, which you can then activate again, and use the Pendulum effect to add any "Qli" card from your deck to your hand. You can also just Normal Summon it to bounce the Scout too, but that's lame, and it stops you from Normal Summoning the "Qli" monsters that turn. Use either of these effects to abuse Qliphort Scout as much as possible.
The Spells and Traps
Saqlifice
Makes the "Qli" monster you equip it to unable to be destroyed by battle, gives it 300 ATK, and it can be treated as 2 tributes for the Tribute Summon of Towers or Skybase. Even better, if it goes from the field to the GY, you can add a "Qli" monster from your Deck to your hand. If you can abuse this effect, do so.
Re-Qliate
This is temporary Skill Drain for Normal Summoned level 4 or lower monsters, and level 5 or higher Special Summoned monsters (only negates until the end of the turn). This card can be very helpful depending on the matchup - e.g. this card is pretty good against Kashtira, but HORRIBLE against Spright and Purrely.
Summoner's Art
Literally here for adding Qliphort Scout or Monolith. No other purposes.
Pot of Extravagance
You don't need your Extra Deck (other than Qliphort Genius), so this card is almost a must use (either this or Prosperity). Easy draw 2 effect, but will stop you from drawing with Monolith in the EP (if you even are able to use Monolith's effect).
Skill Drain
This card is OP in this deck - it allows your Qliphorts to be a 2400 or 2800 ATK Normal Summon. Oh, and it affects your opponent too, so that's a plus.
Lose 1 Turn
This card is insane against decks that like to Special Summon monsters a lot, and there's a lot of them - Spright, Purrely, Kashtira, Dragon Link, etc...
It negates the effects of monsters the turn they are Special Summoned, and changes effect monsters to defense position if they are Special Summoned in attack position - this reminds me of a certain generic Rank 4 Xyz Monster that does almost the same thing, but better - any guesses as to what it is?
Gozen Match
Forces each player to control only 1 attribute of monster. This card can single-handedly win you games against certain decks - e.g. Kashtira, Sky Striker, etc.... best part is, this card doesn't affects you since 99.99% of the time you'll have EARTH monsters (all the Qliphorts are EARTH)
==The Extra Deck==
I'll only be going over one card here - the only one you'll usually need to use in games
Qliphort Genius
You need two machine monsters to Link Summon this, and if you do, it is unaffected by Spell/Trap effects and the effects of other Link monsters. You can use its effect to negate the effects of 1 card you control and 1 card your opponent controls (until the end of the turn), and also has another effect, where if two monsters are Special Summoned at the same time to both zones it points to, you can add a level 5 or higher machine monster from your Deck to your hand (another way to search Towers or Skybase).
The rest of the Extra Deck cards are just generic ones you see in a lot of decks, so there's no point in explaining them.
As usual, the side deck cards are self explanatory, as you see them a lot.
Alright, that's my decklist and guide to Qliphorts. Thanks to Farfa for inspiring this list (no it's not an exact copy of his) :)
As always, if you have any problems, queries, or improvements, tell me in the comments! I wish you a good day/night and the rest of your day.
