This is a Pure Tenpai Dragon Deck. This deck is not meant to be competitive or meta, but it can be used in a somewhat competent and playable way. This deck is for fun and for friendly or casual duels, not to be used in official, competitive settings.
As of this writing (August 2026), this deck is NOT legal in the TCG, as Tenpai Dragon Chundra, Sangen Summoning, and Sangen Kaimen are all limited to one copy.
(Tangent can ignore lol)
I'mma be honest. I HATE this deck. Despise it. Absolutely dread this deck with a passion. This is one of the most brain-dead, 0-IQ decks to play. But MAN do I LOVE the card art of these cards.
It is fun when YOU use it, but dreadful when your opponent uses it. But it's simple to learn and play, so that's a plus!
ahem.
Anyways, the Main Deck contains all of the Tenpai Dragon cards and a load of going-second cards and board breakers. This can be changed to include more hand-traps like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, an engine like the Sky Striker engine with Sky Striker Mobilize - Engage!, or other going-second staples like Ultimate Slayer or Super Polymerization.
The Side Deck contains some of the aforementioned cards, as well as other strong going-second cards to consider and some Extra Deck options to consider.
The Extra Deck contains your main boss monster from the Tenpai archetype, with Trident Dragion essentially being a part of that category. Alongside some other generic cards you can use for certain situations. The Extra Deck in this deck is pretty flexible, so you can add engines like some of the options I stated before and something like The Fallen & The Virtuous, or just other generic toolbox Extra Deck cards.
Deck Explanation
The main goal of this deck is to go SECOND, as this is THE going-second deck. This deck revolves around the Battle Phase and attacking as much as possible. Hence why the deck has a TON of board breakers and going-second cards.
The main gist is this: break your opponent's board, clear a path for yourself, use Tenpai's powerful effects to not let your opponent interact with you as you go into the Battle Phase. Then, you can summon big monsters DURING the Battle Phase and attack, attack, ATTACK! TORA TORA TORA! >:D
As stated in my little tangent at the start, this deck is fairly easy to use, and it can be fun for you to use! (despite my obvious bias)
In the Main Deck, your main starters of the deck are Sangen Summoning, Tenpai Dragon Chundra, Tenpai Dragon Paidra, and Sangen Kaimen.
Sangen Summoning is an insanely good card, as it allows you to not only search one of the main Tenpai monsters to allow you to start attacking, but it also protects you from your opponent during Main Phase 1, protecting your cards from card effects and essentially not allowing your opponent to interact with you as you set up to go into battle. It also has an effect when it is destroyed DURING the Battle Phase, where you can target 1 of your Dragon Synchro Monsters you control and double its Attack permanently.
Sangen Kaimen is a classic searcher. It can search one of your Tenpai Dragons (usually Tenpai Dragon Paidra or Tenpai Dragon Chundra), or it can Special Summon a FIRE Dragon from your hand. BUT, if this card is activated during the Battle Phase, you can do BOTH in sequence!
Tenpai Dragon Chundra and Tenpai Dragon Paidra are your main monsters of the deck. They allow you to start attacking your opponent and start to beat them down during the Battle Phase. All three Tenpai Dragons also include the ability to Synchro Summon during the Battle Phase! This is how we get to our boss monsters.
Additionally, Tenpai Dragon Paidra and Tenpai Dragon Fadra both contain passives where you take no battle damage from battles involving your FIRE Dragon monsters, and your FIRE Dragon monsters cannot be destroyed by battle, respectively.
In the Extra Deck are our boss monsters!
Sangenpai Bident Dragion is our first boss monster, which, upon its Synchro Summon, can revive one of our Tenpai Dragons in the Graveyard.
Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion is our second and main boss monster of the deck. Upon its Synchro Summon, it can change all monsters on the field to Attack Position. So, basically, like Final Attack Orders. Additionally, it has the passive effect that if it is on the field, all monsters your opponent controls MUST attack, if able. Similar to the good old Berserk Gorilla's effect.
On top of that, both have a similar effect while they are in the Graveyard. If 3 or more attacks (any attacks) have been DECLARED this turn, they can, at Quick-Effect speed, Special Summon themselves, and then both have a unique effect on their summon from this effect. Sangenpai Bident Dragion can destroy any 1 Spell/Trap, and Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion can destroy ANY 1 card on the field.
Trident Dragion is the last main boss monster of the deck. It can ONLY be Synchro Summoned, and upon its Synchro Summon, it can target up to 2 other cards YOU control and destroy them; for each destroyed card, Trident Dragion gains 1 additional attack during the Battle Phase this turn. So, it can have up to THREE attacks during the Battle Phase!
Lastly, all these monsters have a LOT of attack. You will usually deal about, say, 30,000+ damage on average during your turn. Neat! :)
ONE LAST IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE is that whenever a monster has attacked for the turn, gets sent off the field, and then summoned back onto the field, it can attack AGAIN.
So hypothetically, if you attacked with Sangenpai Bident Dragion or Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion, you Synchro them away, or they get destroyed, and then they "reborn" themselves from their effects, they get to attack again! Pretty neat!
Combo
A sample combo for this deck is as follows (Sangen Summoning in hand + 1 other card):
Start by going SECOND and start breaking your opponent's board. Use Raigeki, Harpie's Feather Duster, Dark Hole, or whatever else you may have added to break the board.
Activate Sangen Summoning. Activate its effect to add Tenpai Dragon Paidra from Deck to Hand and discard any other card. Normal Summon Tenpai Dragon Paidra. Tenpai Dragon Paidra effect on summon: add Sangen Kaimen.
Go to Battle Phase!
Activate Sangen Kaimen. Add Tenpai Dragon Chundra and Special Summon it. Attack with Tenpai Dragon Chundra and at the START OF DAMAGE STEP, activate Tenpai Dragon Chundra's effect. Special Summon Tenpai Dragon Fadra from Deck. Attack with Tenpai Dragon Paidra and Tenpai Dragon Fadra. Activate Tenpai Dragon Chundra's effect to Synchro Summon using itself and Tenpai Dragon Paidra to Synchro Summon Sangenpai Bident Dragion. Sangenpai Bident Dragion on Synchro Summon to target Tenpai Dragon Paidra in grave and Special Summon it. Attack with Sangenpai Bident Dragion and Tenpai Dragon Paidra. Activate Tenpai Dragon Paidra's effect to Synchro Summon using Tenpai Dragon Paidra and Sangenpai Bident Dragion. Synchro Summon Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion. Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion (optional) effect on Synchro Summon to change all monsters to Attack Position. Sangenpai Bident Dragion effect in grave to Special Summon itself, and additionally (optional) destroy 1 Spell/Trap. Attack with Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion. Tenpai Dragon Fadra effect at the START OF DAMAGE STEP, target Tenpai Dragon Chundra in grave and Special Summon it. Attack with Sangenpai Bident Dragion and Tenpai Dragon Chundra. Activate Tenpai Dragon Fadra's effect to Synchro Summon using Tenpai Dragon Fadra and Sangenpai Bident Dragion. Synchro Summon Trident Dragion. Trident Dragion on Synchro Summon to destroy both Sangen Summoning AND Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion. Chain Link 1 Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion, Chain Link 2 Sangen Summoning (or vice versa. Depends on what you prioritize more). Target Trident Dragion with Sangen Summoning to DOUBLE its ATK. Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion Special Summon itself from grave, and additionally (optional) destroy 1 card on the field. Attack with Sangenpai Transcendent Dragion. Attack with Trident Dragion up to THREE TIMES. PaSs?
This end board contains, well, 34,000+ damage and your dead opponent (hopefully)! IF they did not get destroyed by the onslaught you just committed to them, well....
During your Main Phase 2, you can sit on all your big monsters and hope they don't break your board so it comes back to you and you can finish them off. Or you can go into your Extra Deck and use your toolbox there. Maybe summon Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres. Maybe an S:P Little Knight. Maybe Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames who knows!
Overall, a very strong deck with a lot of power! It can be satisfying just doing a bunch of damage and OTK-ing your opponent! I hope you enjoyed!
Small Edit: Some words added for flair
Small Edit 2: Removed Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and Called by the Grave from Side Deck; can still be considered; added Arrivalrivals and Meteor Rush - Monochroid to Side Deck as more casual cards for consideration
Remember, hesitation is defeat.
