This is a Pure Evil ★ Live ☆ Twin Deck. This deck is not meant to be competitive or "meta", but it can still be used in a somewhat competent and playable way. This deck is very easy to learn and play, and can be used as a beginner deck!
Words and terms to know!:
- Meta: Most Efficient Tactic Available; metagame, the game within the game players build and play decks around with; the most powerful and popular deck(s) during a certain period of time
- Starter: a card(s) that can get your deck started to go into your big combos and plays
- Extender: a card(s) that can "extend" your combos and plays to allow you to keep going
- Staples: powerful, generic card(s) that can fit into practically any deck; usually follow the meta during the time
- Splashable: a term used to say a generic card(s) that can fit into practically any deck; usually have very generic and good effects
- Archetype: a group of cards, usually sharing a similar or same part of the name, that are meant to synergize and work together to make a cohesive deck. Yu-Gi-Oh! decks are usually referred to by their archetype!
- Hand trap: cards in the hand that act as Trap Cards; cards, such as Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, for example, that can be discarded from the hand, usually at Quick-Effect speed, for an effect; usually used to disrupt your opponent
- Engine: a small group of cards with synergy that provide a certain benefit to certain decks that can utilize them as tools for the main deck; usually splashable
- Board breaker: powerful card(s) that destroy your opponent's field; usually going-second cards
The Main Deck contains all the Live and Evil Twin cards. It also contains a bunch of extenders such as Parallel eXceed and EM:P Meowmine, and some generic board breakers like Raigeki.
The Side Deck contains generic Extra Deck staples like Knightmare Unicorn, some hand-traps like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, and Fiendsmith Engraver as a stand-in for the Fiendsmith engine, and Spright Blue as a stand-in for the Spright Engine, as they both work really well with this deck.
The Extra Deck contains all the Evil Twins Extra Deck monsters, as well as some other generic Extra Deck monsters like I:P Masquerena and a line to go into Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder with Downerd Magician and Number 29: Mannequin Cat.
I would honestly recommend replacing the board breakers or generic cards like Upstart Goblin with hand traps if you want. I just made it this way to make it more pure. Or, if you want, you can add the Spright cards or Fiendsmith engine, as I previously stated, if you don't want to add hand traps. And you can also shove in any generic Rank 4 Xyz monsters, such as Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir.
Also, Boo-Boo Game, Lil-la Rap, and Called by the Grave are there for thematic purposes ;) Called by the Grave has an Alt art in the OCG and Master Duel with the Live Twins on it; idk why it's not on this site
Deck Explanation
Live Twins is a pretty easy deck to follow and learn. The main goal of the deck is to use a bunch of Level 2 Monsters to go into its own Link-2 monsters. Because of this, this deck is particularly good with the Fiendsmith Engine as well as the Spright archetype. The Main Deck monsters also all have some passive effect while they are on the field whenever your opponent does a specific move. However, these passive effects are mostly just little bonuses and are quite negligible.
For the Main Deck:
The Main Deck cards are usually tools to easily go into your Extra Deck monsters for their main combos and plays. The Spells in this deck are usually your generic tutors/searchers or starters for the archetype.
Live☆Twin Ki-sikil and Live☆Twin Lil-la are your main starters for the Deck. When you control no other monsters and summon one of them, they can Special Summon each other from the hand or Deck.
The other two starters for this deck are Secret Password and Live☆Twin Sunny's Snitch, as you can search one of the Live☆Twin monsters each.
Live☆Twin Ki-sikil Frost and Live☆Twin Lil-la Treat can each Special Summon themselves from your hand when you control one of their respective counterparts.
Live☆Twin Lil-la Sweet can be used to negate a hand trap your opponent might use on one of your monsters. And then, you can Special Summon her from the Graveyard to extend your play and continue playing.
For the Extra Deck:
Your main monsters reside within the Extra Deck.
Evil★Twin Ki-sikil and Evil★Twin Lil-la both share similar effects, with each needing one of their respective monsters to be summoned. Both share the effect that when they are summoned, and you do not control one or the other's respective counterparts, you can Special Summon one of their respective counterparts from the Graveyard. So Ki-Sikil can summon whatever Lil-la monster from the Graveyard, and vice versa.
They also both have an effect when you DO have their respective counterparts you control; Evil★Twin Ki-sikil can draw 1 card if you control a Lil-la monster, and Evil★Twin Lil-la can target 1 card on the field and destroy it.
Evil★Twin's Trouble Sunny is your main boss monster of the deck. She can tribute herself at Quick Effect speed to Special Summon up to 1 Ki-sikil and Lil-la monster from your Graveyard. Also, during your turn, you can banish Trouble Sunny from your Graveyard, and send 1 Evil★Twin Monster from your hand, Deck, or face-up field to the Graveyard, and send 1 card on the field to the Graveyard.
Evil★Twin Ki-sikil Deal is a Link-1 and an extender for the deck. She can send 1 Lil-la monster from your Deck or Extra Deck to the Graveyard, and you gain the effect during this turn where, each time your opponent activates a card or effect in response to ANY of your Ki-sikil or Lil-la monster effect activations, after that card or effect resolves, you draw 1 card.
Combo
A sample combo for this deck is as follows (Live☆Twin Ki-sikil in hand):
Normal Summon Live☆Twin Ki-sikil. Effect on summon: Special Summon Live☆Twin Lil-la from hand or Deck. Link Live☆Twin Ki-sikil into Evil★Twin Ki-sikil Deal. Activate Evil★Twin Ki-sikil Deal's effect; send Live☆Twin Lil-la Sweet from the Deck to the Graveyard. Link into Evil★Twin Ki-sikil. Activate Evil★Twin Ki-sikil to Special Summon from the Graveyard Live☆Twin Lil-la. Link into Evil★Twin Lil-la. Activate Evil★Twin Lil-la to Special Summon Evil★Twin Ki-sikil from the Graveyard. Evil★Twin Ki-sikil effect if Special Summoned and you control a Lil-la monster, draw 1 card.
From here, you can choose to activate Live☆Twin Lil-la Sweet's effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon herself as extra material for other Link plays, but keep in mind that while she is on the field, you can only Special Summon Fiends from the Extra Deck. But here, we will keep it simple.
Link both Evil★Twin Ki-sikil and Evil★Twin Lil-la into Evil★Twin's Trouble Sunny. Set whatever cards you may have. Pass.
This end board contains Evil★Twin's Trouble Sunny, which can Quick-Effect Tribute herself to summon both Evil★Twin Ki-sikil and Evil★Twin Lil-la. Since they were summoned while the other is also on your field, you can draw 1 card with Ki-sikil and target 1 card on the field and destroy it with Lil-la.
Also, I recommend that when you summon both Evil Twins, summon Ki-sikil in the 2nd Main Monster Zone and summon Lil-la in the 4th Main Monster Zone. It just gives better Link Arrow placement :)
Overall, a very simple deck and very easy to use! You can keep it small while playing this Pure version or add more to the deck to extend your plays and create bigger boards as well! I hope you enjoyed!
Tangent: Also, omg annotating this was a pain because of the ★ star ☆ emojis in their names. It makes searching the cards and annotating them on this site actual hell. SIMILARLY, annotating and searching Maliss cards is equally as painful! I REALLY HOPE they can change that to make it easier to search with, like, an * or something, PLEASE.
Not only that, but when I DO want to annotate one of their names in the description, the initial part of the name is so small that if I only type "ki-" it won't register or find the card. It ALSO won't register because it won't recognise the hyphen when I try to annotate. And typing "Evil" or "Twin" doesn't help either because it's a generic term, and SO MANY CARDS have those words in their names, so they won't show up on the small scroll bar for annotation.
It's not just the description annotation text, but searching for them in general in this database is painful because they don't show up unless you add the emojis and typing the second half of their name also won't make them show up. I hope both these cards and the Maliss cards get a fix or something in this database, PLEASE. Sorry, long tangent. Anyways, chat, is this real? Pogchamp
