Power: Low Rogue (6.9/10) - This is a TCG-legal Link Evolution card-pool Temple of the Kings trap-monster deck. It is much stronger than a pure anime pile because it has real control tools, Waking the Dragon punish lines, Rank 4 and Rank 10 payoffs, and limited floodgates. It stays Low Rogue because it is still slower than modern rogue decks, wants to go first, and can draw awkward Temple, Serket, or trap-monster hands.
Consistency: Solid for a theme-first trap deck. Pot of Extravagance, Pot of Duality, Card of Demise, Lilith, Lady of Lament, and Trap Trick help find the traps that matter. Temple of the Kings is maxed because the deck wants same-turn trap pressure, while Serket is trimmed to two so the identity stays without overloading on bricks.
Ceiling: Surprisingly high when the trap half lines up. Temple of the Kings can make set traps live immediately, Waking the Dragon can punish removal with Naturia Exterio, The Last Warrior, or Borrelsword, and trap monsters can turn into Bagooska, Knightmares, Gustav Max, or Juggernaut Liebe. Skill Drain, Anti-Spell Fragrance, There Can Be Only One, Solemn Judgment, and Solemn Strike give the deck real first-turn teeth.
Recovery: Moderate. Paleozoic Dinomischus can return as a body, trap monsters keep converting backrow into pressure, and Pot of Extravagance reloads the hand. The deck does not have deep recursion, so it wants each trap to trade cleanly or force the opponent into Waking the Dragon.
Going first/second: Best going first. Set Temple, Waking, Trap Trick, Statue, Shade Brigandine, Solemn traps, or floodgates and make the opponent answer awkward backrow. Going second, the side deck brings Sphere Mode, Dark Ruler No More, Evenly Matched, Twin Twisters, Harpie's Feather Duster, and Ash Blossom.
Choke points: Remove Temple before same-turn trap activations matter, stop Lilith or Trap Trick from finding Waking the Dragon, clear Skill Drain or Anti-Spell before committing, and avoid blind backrow removal when Waking the Dragon is face-down. Banishing trap monsters before they become material also lowers the deck's Rank and Link ceiling.
Key cards: Temple of the Kings, Mystical Beast of Serket, Waking the Dragon, Statue of Anguish Pattern, The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine, Quantum Cat, Metal Reflect Slime, Embodiment of Apophis, Trap Trick, Lilith, Lady of Lament, Skill Drain, Anti-Spell Fragrance, There Can Be Only One, Naturia Exterio, The Last Warrior from Another Planet.
Key combos: Temple of the Kings lets one Trap Card be activated the turn it is set, which turns Trap Trick or freshly set trap monsters into immediate pressure. Temple plus Mystical Beast of Serket can convert the classic Odion package into a huge summon. Waking the Dragon punishes backrow removal by dropping Naturia Exterio, The Last Warrior, or Borrelsword. Statue of Anguish Pattern plus another trap monster creates removal while building material. Two Level 4 trap monsters make Bagooska, while two Metal Reflect Slimes can make Gustav Max into Juggernaut Liebe for a surprise closer.
