I like playing Paleofrogs. It's a trap-based strategy that functionally turns into a combo-deck by the end of turn 4. But time has not been kind to the archetype. Control decks like Eldlich and Dogmatika simply outpace it in a few key areas. Recoverability, pressure, compactness, there are a lot of reasons the deck can't stand up to its modern counterparts.
However, for a brief stint, I found the deck rather playable. The frog engine pairs very well with the Numeron engine. Numeron gives frogs a first turn Apollousa or Avramax to pair with your traps. It can also provide an OTK to unsuspecting opponents. Swap Frog's bounce for cost effect lets you clear the field of your normal summon, meaning you can dump a Ronintoadin and resolve a Numeron Network on the same turn. Pair that with arguably the best boss monster in Yu-Gi-Oh, the aptly named Toadally Awesome, and you have a pretty solid deck.
With ZEXAL's ban, I have had to make a few updates, but I am overall still pleased with the deck.
