Howdy!
Here's what I think is the most effective version of the Nouvelles deck is in the snake eyes format. At my locals, this deck does very well against most rogue options and can hold its own against the top decks.
Here's a breakdown of some of the more important cards:
Monsters:
- x3 Diviner of the Herald: A fantastic and flexible normal summon for the deck. Generally you want to use this card's effect to send Herald of the Arc Light for ritual pieces, but it can also send cards like N'tss and Ferrijit for removal and hand fixing. It operates as the decks only tuner, and provides an opportunity to get into cards like Baronne and Herald of the Arc Light. Its tribute effect is also effective at getting out the nouvelles lvl1 or...
- x1 Cyber Egg Angel: A diviner of the herald tech card that is a powerful option in some matchups. You can summon this card off the diviner of the herald, get ritual sanctuary off of its effect, then resummon diviner of the herald off of its shuffle effect to make a free herald of the arc light off of one card. I would only use this line if you have other cards to extend your nouvelles engine, but it's a free negate and d-shifter if you can get it. *IMPORTANT: do not attempt to use this line after using Culinary Confrontation or you will be locked out of making Herald of the Arc Light*
- x3 Poissonniere de Nouvelles: A fantastic card for the Nouvelles engine. On summon it gets you a piece of the ritual summons you want to start with, and acts as perfect tribute fodder for the starter. It's also an important tool for leveling up the nouvelles, as its pendulum effect targets, triggering the nouvelles monsters.
- Ideal Ratio for the Nouvelles rituals - x2 Baelgrill, x2 Balameuniere, x1 Foie Glasya, x2 Poeltis, x1 Confiras, 2x Buerillabaisse: The most common level up line up will be the level 1 -> level 3 -> level 5 -> level 6. This line gets you the most card advantage, allowing you to get all the relevant pieces on the board before you end your turn. I think the level 2 and level 4 are still very important, but they are better searched since their effects are more suited as a reaction for your opponents board.
- x3 Cyber Angel Benten: Recurring tribute fodder since it can search itself off its tribute effect OR access to a diviner of the herald.
- x1 Hungry Burger: The star of the show and also the biggest brick in the world. Used exclusivley for Baelgrill's effect.
Spells:
- x2 Nouvelles Resturaunt "At Table": Great field spell that gets you a recipie card on activation. I play 2 because I find its better to search this card off of the level 5 ritual's effect, but its still a great card to draw into. Helps fix hands and draws a card/fixes graveyard on end phase.
- x3 Pre-Preperation Of Rites: Searches both the level 1 and its ritual spell, or the level 2 and its ritual spell. Perfect starter card for the deck. I play it over normal preperation of rites because it generally searches everything you need plus it can be played right from the start of the game without missing the chance to get the ritual spell.
- x3 Voici la Carte (Today's Menu): This card acts as a Pre-Preperation of rites, and also is a fantastic bait for ash blossom if you also have pre-Prep in your hand.
- x3 Concours de Cuisine (Culinary Confrontation): This card is a great card if youre going first, because it allows you to summon the level 1 to your field, plus get an attack position body on the opponents board through the pendulum/fusion in the extra deck. Its secondary effect also allows you to reach the level 5 ritual on the first turn alone since it targets and can trigger nouvelles effects.
- x3 Recette de Poisson (Fish Recipe): The better ritual card. Gets you another ritual spell if you summon the level 1 *If you alter the deck size to make it smaller and play less hand traps, this is fine as a 2 of*.
- x3 Recette de Viande (Meat Recipe): The searchable ritual card. Situationally incredible for changing the position of the entire opponents board.
Traps:
- x1 Chef's Special Recipe: Negate, destroy, and board tribute! Whats not to love! Searchable by several cards in the deck, but a great target off of the activation of your field spell if you already have the level 5 or higher.
Extra Deck:
- x2 Patissciel Couverture: Nessecary for Culinary Confrontation. 2 in case you get it off twice.
- x1 Elder Entity N'tss: Destruction effect off of Diviner send.
- x1 Underworld Goddess of the Closed World: if you can make the materials for this, its a response to annoying cheese cards and obnoxious towers.
- x1 Nephthys, the Sacred Flame: Huge, hard to beat monster if you are ahead enough to use 3 rituals. a game ending card.
- x2 Dyna Mundo: Acts as a bounce, TARGETS, and can fix your graveyard when you dont have a field spell. Quick effect allows you to resummon cards that were ritual summoned *IMPORTANT: This quick effect not work on cards that were summoned using the effect of a Nouvelles monster. Baelgrill is a great target, but only legal if you used a ritual spell to summon him*
- x1 Constellar Ptolemy M7: Good option if you end with a used baelgril and hungry burger on the field.
- x1 Relinquished Anima: Good link option for both your level 1's if you get *******. Also a good option for going into S:P Little knight.
- x1 Herald of Mirage Light: If you know you have a fairy monster sitting in hand, you can make this for a spell/trap negate.
For budget Players:
A more budget friendly option of this deck would mostly involve removing S:P Little Knight. If that is still too much, you can also replace the 3 diviner of the heralds for 3 Manju of the ten thousand hands. I dont entirely reccomend this though, because it will deem the entire Cyber angel egg tech and 4 of the extra deck cards in this decklist irrelevant.
Choice of staples:
I chose the staples in the deck/side deck mostly for their relevancy to the current meta. Droll and Ash are dependant on the meta, but I think droll is very powerful right now. Imperm and effect veiler target, so they're good in multiple differernt ways. Talents is good right now as well, a solid matchup against snake eyes when theyre trying to make an s:p from the i:p in their backrow. Called by the grave is a good card to have since droll can shut this deck down entirely.
