So you might be seeing this and thinking the same as the single person I informed of this deck.
"Why the fuck, you basterd? That sounds like it barely works."
And yeah, maybe it'd be a bit weak in current format. But I didn't intend this for current format, it's intended for a setting where we go back to ye olde October of 2019, where I don't have to deal with half of the bullshit we know today. Like Tears. Or DPE. Or Maxx "C". You know, the good stuff.
Right off the bat, this deck is only in minor parts edited by me, but the original is this deck by Willow Boyer, and immediately you'll know this is historical stuff since it's from 2019 itself. It already explains itsels well enough, so let me just get to the edits:
- Removed one Sera and replaced it with a Borrelguard Dragon - this is still a format where I'm unlikely to need more than 2 Seras, either because I'll be dead by the time the second one falls, or because I've won. Borrelguard, meanwhile, has an interesting edge in this deck compared to Borreload, Borrelsword, and Borrelend Dragons - it's cheaper than End, it has the same base power of Load and Sword but is arguably better defended from destruction, and it's effect of sacking a card in the Spell/Trap zones to get a monster from either grave is easier to pull off due to the Traptrix package. This is also the reason I added the two Crackdowns from extra to main;
- Put Linkuriboh, Relinquished, and Instant Fusion in the side deck - they are legitimately there just to pull off a Linkuriboh combo, which itself is good to have, no buts about it. But I'd rather have it when I know it's gonna help a lot instead of all the time;
- Added the 2 Gamaciels, the Kumongous, and the Kaiju Slumber from the side deck into main deck. Also added one Waterfront, because it wouldn't brick me turn 1 and can be useful. Instead of at least one of them I put Time-Space Trap Hole to the side deck, because it's just kind of... not great, compared to other options I have. Not to the point of booting it from the deck, but enough so it gets sidelined;
- Added a second Eclipse to main deck, because it turns out the best hand theoretically would be Myrmeleo, Eclipse, Nightfall, Kyouto Waterfront, and Shade Brigandine. Of those, Waterfront is the least important overall, but has a lot to gain if it does appear. Though to keep the deck relatively small, I did banish the third Shade and the second World Legacy Secret to the side deck, removing one of the Ash Blossoms and one of the Called By from the deck completely to make space.
So yeah. That's it mate.
