"The Melodious engine works wonders in many decks with Vaylantz being no exception, giving it the ability to participate in the “handtrap wars” that have resulted from recent decks’ reliance on one-card combos. The deck possesses a multitude of one card combos, setting it apart from other Vaylantz variants and making it one of the most consistent builds available.

The resulting playstyle of Melodious Vaylantz is very different from other variants. In contrast to most of the other “Supplementary Engines” listed on this document, the Vaylantz engine becomes more subservient to the Melodious engine, with the Melodious cards becoming the preferred way to access Vaylantz. This change in dominance is reflected in the preferred naming scheme for the deck, and notably means that Shino is no longer the biggest choke point of the deck. Melodious can easily set up negates before committing to Shino, and Shino’s accessibility allows her card advantage to be focused primarily on extension and backup lines. This notably makes Melodious Vaylantz one of the most Nibiru resilient (but not Nibiru-Proof) variants of Vaylantz, though you must remain wary of the Vaylantz lock when committing to Melodious plays."
