Happy New Year everybody! This comes a bit late, since the season is already over, but here is the deck I've used for Ranked in Season 36 - Melodious. The new (and long overdue!) support made this a strong strategy, with several one card combos, that can usually play through multiple handtraps while also playing a large amount of non-engine. The Tenpai matchup is also decent, which was another reason for me to want to play this deck during this season.
Sadly, as with many other decks, it suffers hard with Maxx C in the game. Still, I had a lot of fun climbing from Platinum V to Master V, and with some more time I'm confident this deck has the potential to reach Master I.
Ostinato is the best starter, it's basically (a non once-per-turn) Branded Fusion for Melodious, but 1st Movement Solo and Refrain the Melodious Songstress are very good as well. Both Bacha the Melodious Maestra and the Link monster, Bloom Harmonist the Melodious Composer, read like custom cards (but beware that the latter is fragile as well, since almost any disruption can stop her, and you can't summon non-Melodious monsters during that turn - the entire turn, not just for the rest of the turn!).
I don't think my version of the deck is very unique, most of it ended up being standard pure Melodious. Something that isn't standard though is the 2nd copy of Melodious Concerto, I like it, it's not too bad to draw. Elegy the Melodious Diva on the other hand can be bricky, and can be cut depending on the format (but during Tenpai format I think it's a must). You could also play around with the ratios of Canon the Melodious Diva, Sonata the Melodious Diva and Soprano the Melodious Songstress.
Your goal is to end on the following (and back it up with non-engine):
You have plenty of space in the main deck for handtraps or other non-engine. I even experimented with Herald of Purple Light, since this deck suffers against backrow and I was facing multiple Labrynth decks for some reason, but ended up cutting it once I reached Diamond.
On the extra deck you also have some space for niche/tech cards, such as Haggard Lizardose (to clear up your board and be able to use Ostinato or 1st Movement Solo), Gravity Controller (to link off Bacha if it gets negated and you have no other option, sometimes you can still go for Flowering Etoile or something like that) and Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir (plan B against Maxx C, but I don't like it, I almost never made it). Super Starslayer TY-PHON - Sky Crisis, S:P Little Knight and Underworld Goddess of the Closed World are just very good cards that come up every now and then. You also have the option to play a 3rd copy of Bacha the Melodious Maestra and/or Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir (if you have the UR points for it), as well as Protector of The Agents - Moon (can out some cards while clearing up the board for Ostinato/1st Movement Solo, since it tributes itself).
On the video you can see the deck in action. I hope you enjoy it, and let me know what you think of it!
